They also supply all the necessary equipment you need like cages, hutches, bedding and food. They tend to give quite good advice on caring for animals too. Their prices for pet food and bedding are probably higher than what you'd be able to get them for in a large Supermarket, but it's in a convenient location if you need to pick something up while you are out and about in the Town centre.

Then last week, we went in to buy a hamster for our granddaughter. Once again we saw Becky and she took us through everything we needed to know, even though she was the only one in the shop and had to keep popping off to serve someone. We agreed to bring our granddaughter in after school to choose a hamster and she set the cage up for us with everything we needed. Nothing was too much trouble! I feed raw food to the dog and all 5 cats, and they have a great selection here of this. Naturally I did do a bit of a comparison and it turned out to be spot on on price. If you do your homework on bulk and regular items, I think it's about right. Treats and stuff are there or there abouts, but a tad on the high price, mad all the other paraphernalia like cat boxes and toys etc are expensive, so be aware! (Which is why the loss of a star) However, trade all this off against the fantastic choice, and the fact that there is an independent Vetenary practice, and it's a great place. Lastly, the staff are helpful and well informed and always happy to chat with you and give you advice should you need it!

A staff member immediately told me I had "less than a minute" before closing -- fair enough, I just needed to quickly grab some dog food. When I said I'd be less than a minute, as she'd mentioned, she checked her phone, smirked, and said, "Minute's up -- shop's closed, you need to leave." Not the kind of customer service you'd expect.

They have a small outdoor area with a pond which has fish in it. Its lovely to sit and watch them. It sells lots of things, ranging from various fish and tanks, to small animals and cages. It also sells any food that you require. The staff there are very knowledgeable about pets and fish. There is no pressure to buy, we often go there to look at the animals and fish. We do buy pet food etc, but often come away without spending, just 2 kids who are asking for more pets!

One died within two days, the others are fine. took it back for a water test, filter working OK but the ammonia was high - fair enough - however, on the basis that the others are fine we still don't know for sure that this is what killed the fish. Instead of getting a replacement fish with a "you need to do a water change asap" all I got was a shrug! So much for customer service, I have spent almost £100 there recently. Cost of fish £3.49 The moral of the story is buy from there by all means but don't expect any refund or replacement when you lose them after two days. I seem to recall that was the reason I stopped buying from there some time ago, always lost a high percentage, this is the first time I have taken one back. Never had that problem from Deepdale Aquatics! Nuff said.
