The cashiers and other employees have been friendly, welcoming and helpful whenever I've been there. Whether it's helping find an item, answering a question or just having a friendly interaction at checkout, the service has always been positive. It's great to see a longtime neighborhood market being modernized and improved while still keeping that personal, local feel. The selection is great, the produce is always a highlight, and the store seems to keep getting better.

That part I completely understand -- times change, and every business has to adapt. Prices are normal for today's grocery costs, and I don't expect bargains. What I do want to acknowledge is the old owners. They ran this store for decades and created a real neighborhood feel. You could sense their presence in the way the store operated, and I hope some of that legacy stays alive in the new version of the market. They deserve a proper goodbye. The part that has felt different lately is the cashier experience. The staff I've encountered often seem unhappy to be there. I've had food tossed across the counter, and today I watched a cashier search for a counterfeit‑checking pen with visible frustration. They also don't allow small credit‑card purchases, which is understandable, but the attitude around it made the interaction feel tense. The store itself is fine, and I know they're dealing with theft -- the big screen with video feeds makes that clear. But the welcoming neighborhood vibe at checkout isn't what it used to be. The old owners built something that felt personal; I hope the new team finds a way to bring some of that back.

I'm not sure I would pay $16+ and wait in line again for that chicken. The potatoes... oh the potatoes had such potential!! The small pieces were delicious, but most pieces were large chunks that the seasoning just couldn't carry. Also, some of those large pieces were just barely fully cooked. Nothing was bad, some things just missed the mark.

However, they don't offer the porchetta at the Stonestown location. For the longest time, they only offered the chicken rotisserie, which is great, but I still would like them to serve the porchetta at Stonestown. Recently though, they have added ribs ($30 for full rack and $15 for half) and pork knuckle ($8.50) on the menu. I have yet to try the ribs, but the pork knuckle is ridiculously mouth-watering good. One Sunday afternoon, while I was at work, Wifey texted me a photo of the pork knuckle she was eating at Stonestown Farmers' Market while shopping for veggies just to make me jealous. If you are familiar with the Filipino dish called crispy pata https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/1/1d/Patio_Filipino_crispy_pata.JPG, it's basically the same thing except Roli Roti's version is smoked/BBQ'd instead of fried so you don't get that extra crispy skin. As soon as I saw the pic, it really made me jealous so the next time we were hitting the Farmer's Market, this was my first stop. By the time we got there, there were only two left so we quickly bought both of them and started pigging out. Yes, it can get messy eating this thing, but every morsel of meat, skin and fat that I tasted in my mouth was well worth it. The only critique I would give as a feedback is they need to rotate them knuckles inside the smoker as one side of the skin is crispy and the other side (that is probably lying on) is rubbery and a little difficult to eat. Other than that, every bite is so darn good that I can overlook a lil bit of rubbery skin. You can always re-heat it in the oven to get the desired texture and temperature. So the next time you're at the Stonestown Farmers' Market and are craving a pork knuckle, better hitting their truck before it all disappears into thin air. Or it gets swallowed deep into mah belly.
