The prices are better at the grocery store. This farmer's market has always been pretty expensive. Not a big fan despite a wonderful location near the beach. I'm sure there are hundreds of costs involved in transporting goods to this market, but maaaan. I believe last time I went it was $3.99/lb for plums... And $10 for an 8 oz thing of hummus. $30 for a 3.9 oz loose leaf tea container, which serves roughly 40-50 cups of tea. Coastside Framer's Market is great fun. They have a huge selection of vendors and all the sales people are very nice. We ended up buying a lot of things that are just hard to get elsewhere. Now, it does get crowded, but the people are nice and just wait your turn. We love the empanadas stand and always buy a bunch and take back to out hotel. The people there are the best. They have the best organic produce and you can even get nice gifts there. You must try Beckmann's Bakery, their boysenberry turnovers are just the best. The place is always being cleaned and if customers would use the trash cans it would be spotless. We just love it. read more

Love, love, LOVE this Farmers Market! Super local good community vibes. Hoku is a gem managing the EBT stuff and Colleen does all the behind-the-scenes managing work to keep the magic going (she is the Big Momma of the market). They have lots of community flyers and stuff on the info table too. They have a price match thing which helps low-income folks get more greens in their diet, which is really nice! It wasn't before long I began knowing the names of all the local distributors here, enjoying the excellent live music from Jane, the chalk for the kiddos, sometimes little puppies to adopt - it's quite a scene. There's a yellow truck that makes the greatest chicken club sandwhich I've ever had - with a rotisserie chicken across the street! The baked goods Ryan has are to die for, and if you've been to a delicatessen, you know these are A+ quality and very affordable for the quality (you're paying for the food, not the tablecloths). The GREENS are the best Ive had - much higher quality than other farmers markets I've been to in the area. Crunchy fresh carrots, brocollini (I never heard of this but its like sweet and rly good), and pickled cucumbers that made the best home made pickles ever! Some of the farmers are super nice and will give you extra sometimes or encourage you to sample things. How cool is that? The Rosalind Bakery cookies are the bomb, too. Very cheap tamales and horchata. and the BEST SEAFOOD I ever had in my life. Bar-none. I could go on and on...the prices might be a tad higher but the quality and community makes it worth while. I regularly walk out with a heavy bag for $20 spent, so I'm not complaining. If I wanted tasteless GMO veggies I'd go to Safeway. This is the real deal and the meals that come out of here are gourmet. I get upset if I have to buy ingredients somewhere else, hah! Come out for a sunny or a foggy day. I love this farmer's market! I've been to many farmer's markets, many of them bigger than Coastside Farmer's Market, but I keep coming back to this one because it's so lovely and charming. They just re-opened for the season, and will be open every Wednesday from 2-6pm until Dec 18, 2024. La Milpa Organic Farm. My favorite stand! I would drive down just for these guys. Delicious organic produce. Their offerings change, but they pretty consistently have rainbow chard, kale, beets and onions. About $2.50 for a huge, 1.5lb-2lb bundle of rainbow chard. This week they had strawberries! $5 / lb. Very nice young man runs the stand. Beckmann's Bakery. You can get two huge almond bear claws in a bag for $10. They also have chocolate croissants, chocolate bear claws, and boysenberry turnovers, cinnamon rolls, schnecken, and a ton of different flavors of pie. Pupusas & Tamales, no name stand, you'll know it when you see it, it's usually at the end of the market next to the information stand. Each pupusa is $4 and it is delicious! They are hot and ready to go, has a lovely handmade flavor. Yo Soy Ceviche, the empanadas here have a great, buttery crust, but they are small and the price went up to $9.50. its a shame that everything is higher than normal price, higher than supermarket prices like Safeway even. One vendor selling empanadas for $9 each, when normally they shouldn't cost more than $5. Produce even though organic runs very high in price. I always thought farmer markets thrive on lower prices than regular stores, that is the whole point. I know most are organic, but the produce and baked goods are 3 times higher in price than supermarkets. It's very sad. read more

While there is a nice selection of organic fruit, bakery items, flowers and odds n ends such as olive oil, Chinese dumplings and middle eastern food at this small farmer's market, we were not impressed with the guy selling tamales at the south end entrance. We bought two vegy tamales. After getting home and heating it up in the microwave it turned out to be a 6" cylinder of masa dough with maybe a tablespoon of what looked like frozen mixed veggies you might find at Safeway pressed onto one side of the tamale dough. No fresh cut mix of veg folded into the middle of the masa - just this weird strip along the side and a lot of masa dough. read more

Loved going to this week day farmers market, as I work on weekends, this was a rare treat for me ! I found a nice selection of really fresh &very reasonably priced produce . For instance, a much bigger bunch of celery than I saw even available at the grocery, was half the grocery store's asking price . Great looking Fresh Herb bundles were also a great value. The fresh meat and fish stands were a nice option , also the baked goods . The real draw for me though was the ready-made food available! Loved take-away tamales at one stand , empanadas at another and a third with steamed pot stickers dumplings and bao dumplings . I especially liked the Tamale guy's sales pitch of "I need $20dollars& I will give you a nice bag of assorted tamales !" And he DID ! The food was all really good too ! Great to munch as you shop and listen to the groovy live music being played ! After your Marketing ... wind down at the MOONRAKER RESTAURANT FOR HAPPY HOUR (oysters) & SUNSET . Although a small farmers market, it's right by Rockaway beach! A trip worth going and make a day of it. They do open only Wednesdays in the afternoon 230-630 I believe. There's limited choices of booths, but there's many selections: veggies, fruits, flowers, bread, papusas, pastries, Roli Rotti, etc. Get what you need and have a picnic on the beach, just remember to pick up after yourself. read more

I'd kill for a pastry and proper cappuccino or a pretzel and filter coffee when shopping the market. Apropos pretzel, the ones found at Rosiland Baked Goods are made with wheat flour. They taste, for lack of a better word, 'healthy'. On hand at the market: fruit and veg, *flowers (five bucks for bunch of five), bread (both Beckmann's and Rosiland Baked Goods) & bagels, rotisserie chicken, kombucha... What I thought I heard they had, but didn't see: tamales. What I would want: less sour, less 90s style (read: blazing hot) cappuccino. This market is fairly compact. This is the worst farmers market I have ever been to. Went specifically to get strawberries. There were none I contacted the market through messenger asking and got a thank you for writing but no answer. Still no answer. I guess no one monitors it. Csm has two strawberry vendors even in the winter. Belmont has one . Parking is also very difficult.Only 15 people in the market but all the parking lots full at 2 pm. Traffic awful. Trying to get home to San Bruno took forever. Had to go back to 92 and stopped at Piazzas to get the strawberries . Never again. Not even a decent bakery. Bought nothing read more

Love that this farmers market is so close to home. There a nice mix of produce, meat, eggs, meals, and crafts. There's a good amount of parking around the market but it can be a bit hard to get in and out of the beach area as the street is one lane each way. Bring a reusable bag with you to carry your treasures! read more

This market has become my Wednesday afternoon ritual. I have picked up incredibly fresh lettuce, rainbow chard, basil, and zucchini here lately. I also frequent one of the vendors who has the sweetest, most delicious organic strawberries I've ever tasted. Be sure to check out Edna's cookies at the south end. Expensive, but well worth it. They have several vegan cookies and muffins and let me tell you that the lemon shortbread is to die for! It's not the most expansive farmers market around, but it does offer some great organic produce and other pre-prepared foods for us Pacificans. read more

What, giving a farmer's market only 3 starts? Location it gets 5 stars for sure, but the hours are kinda funky for a farmer's market. Especially when they say they start at 2:30, they mean they start at 2:30! I got there a little early and was looking at succulent rasberries and asked the vendor if I could get a basket, and she said we're not open yet, even though she was just standing there. I looked at the clock tower and sure enough it was only 2:25. Then a security guard came up and asked me to go and wait behind the rope. I was a bit put off by that experience. This place hasn't been reviewed in nearly a year and I aim to rectify that. This is the reason for buying local fresh produce: the farmers I saw were from Fremont, Half Moon Bay, Brentwood, and Salinas. The produce was a mix of organic and non-organic but freshness was the key: green veggies and fresh nectarines, blueberries and strawberries (no tomatoes yet--too early). There were fresh baked breads (including a killer cinnamon raisin bread from Greenlees--you gotta try this as your French Toast) and cookies, a local cheese maker, and even some merchandise. And there was music too. I had some Indian food samples from Sukhis and will definitely return for more of her fresh Indian food. There was even a Roli Roti truck; A stand that had a small wall of freshly turning cooking rotisserie chicken [Local "free-range, corn-fed birds from Fulton Valley Farms in Sonoma County, unsullied by chemicals or animal byproducts."] going. There was a knife sharpening truck and locally-made reusable bags for sale. The selection was a bit small and the prices were steeper than I expected but "Hey!" these are local farmers and artisans and I felt we need to support them and encourage this kind of venue. Buying and eating local reduces carbon and keeps the money local. The Market is every Wednesday from 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. from May thru November. read more

Hey, just the fact that Pacifica has a farmer's market is awesome in my book. With Walgreens coming, the only thing I could ask for is for the Farmer's market to be open more often or to put a whole foods or trader joes here. The Farmer's market is a bit on the small side, but the location, being just off highway 1 is the #1 plus. The market itself is very consistent. Great local fruits and vegetables, makes me feel good to know my money is going to local businesses. The Killer Brownie company makes their appearance here at this venue and thank god for that! A couple times, coming home from work we have gone here mainly for the roti-chicken and that's an awesome option to have on a lazy dinner night! read more

I was excited when I heard a few years ago that Pacifica would have their own Farmer's Market. There's a good mix of vendors there selling a variety of goods such as fruits and vegetables, cheeses, breads, rotisserie organic chickens, and knife sharpening. One beef I have though is that many of the vendors appear at other area farmer's markets as well and for whatever reason seem to charge more for their goods when they are in Pacifica. That being said, I still can't wait for them to reopen later this spring. read more

And if you like getting pastries at farmers markets there are at least two vendors that offer baked goods. Brought my in-laws there and as I loaded up on nectarines and kale they stocked up on cookies. pie. and fudge. My mid-week fix. (Slaps inside of elbow) I get the fresh food shakes sometimes. Don't get me wrong, Trader Joe's is my Methadone, but a guys gotta have something fresh and wholesome at least half the time. Picked up some good organic produce without having to wait for the weekend. Range fed organic chicken, homemade borsch + sauerkraut, and some great hummus blends. Of course they have things like organic squash, and produce in bundles! Prices are a bit steep compared to other markets, but it's very convenient when I'm at the beach and need that sweet medicine I pump into my veins called fresh food! Market overall is okay. Small selection but I like supporting local businesses. Kens, farm girl, stuckeys, beckmans bread, and the bagel couple are all awesome. However The tamale/pupusa lady is very rude and unsanitary. She was handling money without gloves and then touching the food. The 2 other women cooking did not have gloves on as well. After waiting over 20 minutes for my food I asked about the timing, she was very rude and told me I can just have my money back. And threw my money back at me. This is a great little market with AMAZING vendors, fantastic fresh LOCAL food and great people. Fly girl farms, Triple Delight Blueberries, Fresh Corn, Farmer Johns veggies, Go To Chocolate and more... The food is local and ah-mazing. What I also love are the vendors. They are happy, fun and actually remember us every year. I can't get enough of this market. The best on the coast! Limited selections but I was able to pick up some tomatoes and I tried a cookie from Black Sheep bakery. The lilikoi cheesecake was good from Black Sheep bakery. Free public parking in the back lot. Love this spot! Discovered this market just two weeks ago, on a day when the sun just happened to be shining. After spending most of the day down the coast, basking on the beach, listening to the thunderous waves, we thought we were making a quick stop at Rockaway before heading back to the city. Imagine, the beach is within earshot, and there you are surrounded by organic greens, candy-sweet tomatoes, homemade tamales (yep, there are some that are vegetarian),Sukhi Indian foods that include not only the most yummy chutneys and cilantro salsa, but fresh somosas to boot. Of course there is the gorgeous rainbow chard, the fresh leeks, and squash of varieties that I had never seen, but there is also room to move! No stepped-on toes. No shoving, No worries about parking meters. To a San Francisco, city girl, this is about as surreal as it gets in broad daylight! Let's get back to those tamales...OMG! I almost skipped the veggie when the vendor told me that there was no sauce in them. That would have been a huge mistake. Thus far, two trips with more to come, I have purchased the vegetarian, chile cheese, and Salvadorian chicken. The chicken I bought for the lone meat-eater in the family. Let me just say that one of those chicken tamales was devoured by a latin friend. She said that was the best tamale she had ever had. The masa on these is simply amazing..They are a little crude looking, which for me makes them all the better. The real deal. Almost forgot to mention the flowers! Beautiful dahlias is what I went for both times. Samples? Tons of samples. The Sukhi vendors are the favourite. Seems to me that they really don't mind what you buy, they just love sharing their food. The tamales are also up for sampling, along with many of the other products. The market starts at 2 or 2:30 and ends around 5:30. I'm a huge fan of the Ferry Market Plaza, but this one is so much easier...The only thing missing here is John and his amazing variety of mushrooms. The best prices that I have seen for organic produce :) Oh, and bring a camera. One of the growers has the most beautiful display that I have ever seen at an open market. This is a nice reliable farmer's market on Wed from 2-6 PM. Some good deals can be found after work towards the end of the market time. Some fruit and veggie regulars, indian food, roast chicken van. And of course, being a block from the beach is nice. My favorite stop is the fruit stand with the elderly gentleman chanting about how good his fruit is. I love this market! It's so much more intimate, nicer, and CLEANER than the one in Daly City. I have never been disappointed with a purchase from any one of the vendors, and I am always leaving with samples. What great place for Pacificans to get their groceries, what with the quality of Safeway being abysmal. I like knowing the people I buy my food from, and miss it dearly when the season ends. Today was a perfect day to go to Pacifica Farmers Market we actually had a warm day with some lovely sunshine. I have been trying to make it my goal to visit every wed for fresh produce, breads, flowers and satisfy my cravings for Indian foods. This week I was offered snacks and a refreshing taste of wine before I even made it behind the yellow caution tape that surrounds the market every Wednesday, a local business had a lovely table of yummy samples and we chatted a bit about the market and other places to go to in Pacifica, The opening up of local business to street traffic is a great thing. This week I had samosas & lox on the brain, not to eat at the same time though. Suki's carries fresh samosas and is a staple at many bay area markets, I know the food is fresh tasty and they love giving out samples to all who wander by, I also have been wanting to try out that lox flavored with dill. Today the dozen eggs were lovely shades of brown and crème, tomorrow will be a soufflé. One booth was selling baby artichokes, tiny little itty bitty ones, John gave me a demonstration on the best way to prepare and cook them, cut the stems, peel away the heavy petals, then snip off the tough tops. They will go well with my fresh lemon pepper pasta. Parking was just a little ways off in the big lot by the beach, But when we are trying to eat healthy those extra steps are no longer a burden, & walking off that delicious apple tart was a good thing. The prepared food costs quite a bit more then in the stores, but the time spent with those who take the time and love to create those foods is worth the price, and you spend less on fresh veggies so it all works out in the end. read more

Just recently relocated from outside of Phoenix. Love this Farmer's Market! I have been to both the one in Pacifica and HMB and we just love it, the kids think it's fun to go to and we get lots of awesome produce, fresh flowers, etc and we don't have to shop at Safeway (ick) to do it. The one in Pacifica is very convenient for me to stop in as I'm coming home from work, the vendors are friendly and there are plenty of free samples! read more

I love HMB farmers market! I try to go every Saturday morning if I can. They have plenty of stands that I've never bought a thing from but they seem popular to others.... I go for the fruits and veggies only. The prices are generally reasonable and like any farmers market you can often get things that you can't find in the grocery stores and if places like Safeway have the items they are inferior in quality. Parking can sometimes be a bit of a pain so take your bike if you can. read more

After moving to Pacifica a year ago today was my first time going to the CFM. Husband and I decided last minute to check it out and it was a pleasant surprise. It's a small market but you can find a good variety of produce, food tents (rotisserie chicken, Indian food, cheeses, dessert, etc) We got some organic strawberries and raspberries and they were delicious. Also took a short walk to the little beach area to watch the waves. It was a nice evening. I would definitely go again and so glad we had a FM close by. Happy now! read more

I found this farmer's market by accident on a Wednesday afternoon and I am so glad I did. When I am able to make it there midweek, I feel like I am treating myself to the most delicious, local food. I have gotten bunches of deep red Dahlias here, artisanal goat/cow cheese (that I am addicted to), homebaked mini pies (Shampa's Pies of Pacifica), just picked (and farmer's market priced, which is reasonable) kale and chard, and homemade hummus and lemon parsley pita chips (delicious!). The vendors are all really nice and like to chat. But the best part is RoliRoti, the rotisserie chicken food truck. I usually pick up a quarter chicken with potatoes ($7.50 last time I went). It is really, so good. If it is in season, they sometimes have local brussels sprouts (grown on the coast)! Yum. The chicken is herbed with a mix of thyme, rosemary, and their own special salt and on Wednesdays when you are in that mid-week doldrum, RoliRoti is such an easy dinner pick-me-up, so good.
