Everything was tailored to us, he picked us up at the house we rented soon after arriving from airport for half day tour to Le Conte glacier. We have an 11 and 16 year old and spend as much time as we wanted to watch the animals around the glacier and look for all the baby seals!. We then did a full day which is supposed to be 8 hrs and he made it 11 because we wanted to keep on going. We went kayaking to a beautiful isolated spot (felt super safe with his knowledge) and then whale watching at Frederick sound. He searched for the best spots to see multiple whales, sea lions, seals and great spots for the kids to spot other sea life. He was so kind and thoughtful, he took us to get groceries before they closed the shops, took is to get breakfast and coffee in am and then let us use some of his cookware to use at the place we rented to cook a perfect salmon. He also let me borrow his personal jacket and boots because part of my luggage was lost. Just amazing customer service and wonderful experience. Will be back !!!

The Bear Room lived up to its name, with decor from quilts to shower curtains, and even drawer handles, with bears. This bed and breakfast is literally right on the beach and we enjoyed beach combing and even had a bonfire one evening. The main common room features many comfy recliners from which to enjoy the gorgeous views of the channel, wildlife (we saw seals and bald eagles) and mountains. The breakfasts were fantastic (think fresh fruit, cinnamon rolls, french toast, eggs, sausage, juice, fresh coffee, just to name a few)! Leslie also saw to the small details such as ample hangers in the closet, drawer space and locally made hand soaps to use in the bathroom. We were very appreciative of the comfortable and clean beds and bedding and our attractive room with a decorative Alaska feel. The only down side is that its about a two mile walk to town and hiking trails so if you are bringing children, transportation is a must or you can use the local taxi service. As another possible option, a local business and restaurant we frequented during our stay were kind enough to pick us up and drop us off. Just to give an example of how Leslie goes the extra mile, she dropped us off at the airport and must have gone back to the B & B and found a pair of pants I had forgotten because she drove all the way back to the airport and gave my pants to another passenger who in turn, gave them to me. We really enjoyed our time here and would highly recommend it.

So if you're going to Petersburg for who knows why, this is how you get in and out of the town that…read moreholds about 2000 or so people. What you'll find is the smallest airport out there, one terminal, one airline, and one periodically long line to get your stuff out. Everyone is nice and does the best they can. No food is available here outside of stuff in vending machines, and pre-COVID you could have gone into town to get stuff before your flight boards. If you have a frozen box of seafood you're taking out, you'll find that your patrons/drivers will typically know where to place it or what to do. You'll need to report and pay for it upon check in and from there the counter check in folks will tag it, then send it off to TSA inspection (which is like 3 -5 people so it could take time). From there it will be boarded. If you have special needs, you'll need to note this should be reported right away as their main ramp onto the airplane is the old fashioned one where you will walk up an outside stairway to board. Feel free to do the Nixon criss-cross peace sign thing before you board. The old folks around you might chuckle.
