A decent little gift shop in the Haymarket district of Lincoln. Lots of touristy and local items including wine and distilled spirits. Quite a selection of Sideshow whiskeys available. Seemed a little short staffed. Only one person working the floor and register on a Friday afternoon. She was nice enough and friendly. Though I could do without hearing the word "valid" for the next few weeks. Lol Definitely worth the time to stop in and take a look around if you are looking for a memento to remember your trip to Lincoln! read more

The service by the staff was superb ...amazing experience...we did a wine tasting (so good) while we were there and she was very knowledgeable and helpful ..our party of four walked out with a total of 8-10 bottles of wine between us! Cute store, loved the nut roll, but I was very disappointed with the purchase I made for my child back home. I bought her a small plastic cannon that you pull back to shoot little puffballs. I asked the person at the counter if it was worth buying and they told me how much they love it. I bring it home to California and it doesn't shoot, doesn't really work, my kid does not play with it. This place is soooo cute. I stocked up on things before I left Lincoln but returned when I came for a visit last summer. From Nebraska has wine tastings every week for the various Nebraska wineries (I think the state has ~36!) They also have a nice stock of James Arthur wines if you can't make the short drive to Raymond. Also, cute wine accessories! I also love how many other nice items are in the store. There is a large section of Husker & Nebraska tees for all ages, Husker jewelry for the ladies, magnets, shot glasses, postcards, stuffed animals, artwork, and food baskets. There are baskets in the shape of Nebraska. My favorite section though is the Sugar Shack Candle section! They have every current flavor of sugar shack candles in various sizes (votives, regular and jar sized). I go and sniff a lot. I seem to buy or want candles that are no longer made. I was able luckily to bring back some mint chocolate cookie candles before they went out of style, but missed out on passion fruit. I also got grandma's cookie dough. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and they have a little guestbook when you come so you can see where everyone came from to visit the store. A couple friends and I decided we wanted to do a wine tasting at James Arthur Vineyards on a Saturday. James Arthur recently purchased From Nebraska Gift Shop and converted part of it into a tasting room, so we decided to try this location rather than going to the actual vineyard in Raymond. Most of the space is still a gift shop, but about a quarter of it has small tables with a "bar" where you get wine samples. Since the employees are also operating the cash register for the gift shop, there is sometimes a bit of a wait to do the wine tasting, but we didn't find it to be an issue. The wine tasting comes with 5 wine samples. When you start your wine tasting, they give you a glass and a sheet with all of their wines listed. You then mark the 5 wines you want to taste on the sheet and bring the sheet up to the bar with you when you are ready for your next pour. I thought this system worked pretty well. My only complaint is that the descriptions on the sheet are pretty limited so you are sort of guessing (or googling, in my case) as to what you are drinking (they do not even identify whether the wines are white or red). We all really enjoyed the wines we tried. We also decided to try the bread, meat, and cheese basket. You select the cheese you want (we went with a spinach artichoke one) and receive a warm loaf of bread and summer sausage. We were not fans of the sausage, but the bread was good and the cheese was excellent. They offer a few light appetizers, and you can also order heavier appetizers from the restaurant next door and have them served to your table. The shop itself has a lot of interesting stuff and we enjoyed browsing while we drank our wine. It is right across from a very affordable parking garage, which makes parking easy. This place is a neat addition to the area and is a good option if you want to enjoy a wine tasting but do not want to drive outside of town to do so. read more

I ABSOLUTELY enjoy coming to this shop every time I am in NE! The staff is so friendly and I enjoy the James Arthur wines they have. Anytime I have been in there the lady let's me try a couple samples free of charge which is so nice! Last time I took home two bottles with me. Another fun thing is heir variety of NE goodies. I always grab a few meat rubs, jellies, etc to use for stocking stuffers. They're always a hit with my CA family. read more

5 stars for being the only place in Nebraska (besides the airport) that sells souvenir spoons! Okay - I don't really know if this is the only place, but all the Cracker Barrels, Hallmarks, Walmarts, truck stops, etc. that I went to, did not sell any souvenir spoons - not even University of Nebraska ones. A great place to take out of town guests to give them a tast of Nebraska's finest. They also do wine tastings for James Arthur vineyards. Both times I went I had the sweetest people help with the tasting they were very talkative and it was a great experience. It's $5 to try 6 wines, a really great deal! You don't get to keep the glass though like you do when you go to the actual vineyard. read more

It's a cute store, lots of Huskers fan souvenirs, books from Nebraskan authors, bears, gift baskets like meltaways in a basket shaped like Nebraska, magnets and the likes. But if you go to any other small stores, they sell the same things, and if you want more choices with the Huskers stuff, try the University Bookstore. The wines are okay, nothing to write home about, and honestly, if you're visiting Nebraska, you don't buy wines here to bring home to, if you want wine to drink, there are better wines at Target. The cashier was nice but honestly, it's just okay, it's a souvenir store for corn's sake. read more
