A bountiful selection of cheeses. What I found interesting was the wide selection of seasoned cheese curds. With selections such as fine herbs, 3 pepper, BBQ, Rebel BBQ, Cajun Bayou, who would have thought there was a market for seasoned- flavoured cheese? I went with the traditional cheese curds. Bought a $7 bag and can attest the quality is not overly salty but equally squeaky. They have a large selection of other kinds of cheese plus all the stuff you need for poutine and other items such as cheese bread and interesting food selections. A good selection for a Quebec City Cheese shop! Prices are reasonable. It's not France pricing but it's not overly expensive!

In addition to selling cheese and other goodies, inside the cheese shop is a counter that makes and sells hot food! We ordered a grilled cheese sandwich with mushrooms, a baguette sandwich, a large poutine and everything was delicious. The cheese was flavourful. The baguette was perfectly crisp and chewy. The poutine was delightful - with lots of cheese curds, sweet corn and veggie gravy. I picked up a bottle of Raw Quebec Honey for my mom and she absolutely loved the deep flavour. I also bought a bag of D'Antan Maple Potato Donuts for myself and the donuts were epic - so soft, great maple flavour yet not too sweet.

It was walking distance from our hotel and a beautiful day! Behold my biggest food dream all in one little shop. We had delicious, freshly made grilled cheeses (including poire et brie), baguette with smoked salmon, perfectly cooked French fries, and even the side salad was tasty. You can also take cheese samplers to go and all the accouterments you could ever want. They had many other unique products like Goat Milk Caramel and smoked trout. Be sure to visit. If you follow your nose to Les Halles du Petit Quartier on Avenue Cartier a few blocks outside of the old city walls of Quebec, you will be rewarded with the best cheese on this continent. When we visited early September 2009, we found this gem of a foodie paradise mall which held Aux Petit Delices, a fromagerie (cheese and charcuterie shop). We were drooling over the cheeses when the owner of the place came over. He said that he comes from a long line of cheese masters. He explained and handed us samplings of a variety of cheeses for over a half an hour. We were stuffed and we still had to meet some friends for lunch! This week we dragged some friends to this delightful place. We grabbed some strong blue cheese, brie, camembert, and smooth foie gras truffle cheeses. We ordered duck terrine (melt in your mouth fatty duck pate) and bresola (chewy salty prosciutto) from their charcuterie counter. We grabbed some baguettinis from the local boulangerie (also in this foodie mall) and snarfed our make shift sandwiches in their food court. My husband grabbed some large Quebecois beer in the beer store to wash things down. Sitting across from the patisserie certainly did not help. Of course, we had to order a scrumptious moulin de fruits which was the best tasting "profiterole" ever! Why can't the Americans get cream right like the Quebecois! The citron creme brûlée and napoleon were not as memorable. Needless to say, my friends were impressed. This beats any overpriced touristy restaurant. (Avoid the menus printed in French and English!)
