You can never predict what they're looking for. You walk through the store and they have beat up 20 year old Prada shoes but you bring in a new item with current designer tag on and they'll turn it away. I think their staff are not properly trained on brands and rely on what they know rather than researching and learning what is current. I've had good service and terrible patronizing service. Not my first place for consignment but gotta make a few bucks wherever I can. read more

I took 15 pairs of Levis and several pairs of hardly worn shoes. they said that shoes are no good unless they've been polished, lol. As for the jeans, they only chose 2 pairs, both button down 501's, which were 25 years old, and in new condition. I turned them down, and took all my goods to Salvation army. This company employs Gen Z people who treat older citizens much too casually. They could certainly use some training on respecting their elders. I will never shop there. read more

Service is peppermint at times, there is always new people working. But I have had staff go the extra mile for me on occasion too. I don't recommend consigning as I've had items rejected that I actually bought there and never wore. Correct season etc they were combat boots. I was told "too mall" my other ysl, Comme DG and citizens jeans were accepted. The girl ignored me as I explained the boots were in fact from front, not the mall! Many other consignment negative experiences I won't get into but yeah I would skip it if you can. Shopping can be really really good though.. read more

Best consignment shop I know of. Most people don't even realize it's consignment. They carry mostly trendy, modern type stuff in close to new condition. I brought my niece and mom here last weekend, and my niece got a cute Aritzia top. My mom was like, so these clothes aren't new? Nope, but they look like it and probably half the original price. There's also lots new jewelry, sunglasses, gifts and a new clothing section as well! read more

My review will be about the consignment side of this store. I've found nice clothing here, but the prices are too high and the service isn't great. Never get a friendly vibe here. There have been people who helped me in the fitting room who was kind, but other than that, I've been here many times and don't feel very welcomed on the floor. It's just kind of that vibe...but this is alike many other thrift stores with unfriendly service. I think I wouldn't mind the lack of service if the prices were more fair (like Wildlife Thrift - lack of service but CHEAP). The consignment section doesn't even feel priced as consignment. ...BUT this is a thrift store that had solid stock--lots of Aritzia, Lululemon, and other popular brands. Definitely visit if you are a "lazy" or "bad" shopper (my friends' words, not mine). If you don't like spending time going through racks to find a great piece, or if you feel like you aren't that skilled in looking, Front & Company can help you. They offer a carefully curated selection, which is probably the justification for the extra $$$. I'm someone who likes to find deals, look for unique items, so I would rather spend hours than pay the extra bucks...but that's just me, and I can definitely see how others are different! Went in today W my friend and didn't realize they were closing. Sales associate with the septum hoop was following us asking if we needed help w anything while we were trying to shop and was super passive aggressive. 5 mins later she says "btw we close at 6:30" and it wasn't even 10 after. So basically after making us feel super uncomfortable and following us she uses her "customer service skills" to let us know that she basically doesn't care and wants us to leave. If your people skills are that low, you should consider a different min. wage job like McDonald's. Sorry but I do not recommend. :) Also, business hours are listed as 11-7 everyday on Apple maps. So I strongly suggest you hire better qualified employees or adjust your hours on Apple maps. read more

So disappointed! I found a hole in the fabric of a brand new pair of $100 linen pants and was refused a refund. While their policy is exchange only, i think it's reasonable to make exceptions for damaged goods. Initially, i just wanted a replacement but on my return visit, I realized the hole was due to sloppy security tag placement. I also noticed 3 different price tags on the potential replacement pair..a sample sale price of $47 and 2 different store tags, $79 and $89. The manager refused to give me a refund and made all sorts of excuses including 'we're a small store' and 'they're still wearable.' When i asked to speak to her manager, she told me not to bother. Begrudgingly, I took the gift card but once that's spent, they've lost me as a customer. read more

The store manager has terrible customer service. Make sure you know whether your purchase is "final sale" if you shop there. I wasn't informed when I bought something and the receipt doesn't fully inform you of their policy. Less than an hour later I tried returning it (because it didn't fit and I thought I could at least get store credit, as per the info on the receipt). The manager said she "believed she told me it was final sale" (she didn't) and yet that was sufficient for her not to assist me. She implied that it was not possible for her to be incorrect since she has been there for 9 years. The customer should always be right. I strongly recommend shopping elsewhere. I used to be a much bigger than of theirs, I've been consigning here for years and within the last 1-2 years it's been a nightmare. My clothing is very pristine, some has been worn a handful of times at most and some never just had removed the tags yet that still seems to classify as "lovingly worn"... it's left quite a bitter taste in my mouth as I see many items in store that are in worse condition & priced quite high. I bring in a bag of 16 items and MAYBE 1-3 items get taken that meet their now unreachable standards. I was also trying to consign some designer watches a while ago and they told me they had to be working... although I pointed out that none of the consignment watches were ticking or pulled back to stop ticking. Thrown off guard their response was they must have recently stopped (apparently all 12 ish watches), please cut the crap. I am slowly just not going to bother wasting my time here as a consignor nor a shopper. I also now don't recommend others to come. read more

This company will sell your clothes, profit from it, and let your "cheque" expire and blame the banks - and won't inform you. So if you don't continuously check your balance, you'll be losing out on cash, $10s/$100s of dollars for clothes you brought in. If you as a company know cheques expire in 6 months, find a better system so people aren't losing their money to your benefit. Multiple second hand stores function without expiring credit. Find a better way. If the expired money or profits were donated to a better cause I get it, but going straight in to your pockets? Nah - I'm good. There's a global pandemic. People don't shop for months at a time. How much will you be benefiting from all their cash? read more

This place is beyond snotty. I brought in items for consignment, and was told they don't accept Wilfed, although half their items are Aritzia and Wilfred labels. Then I brought in some really nice fall items and they told me they were too "sophisticated" and that their clientele were mostly teens looking for T-shirts???? No one in the store were teens by the way. Their stuff is quite ratty and over priced. They've really gotten cocky which is a shame. Wouldn't recommend it as a consignor or a purchaser. read more

Trendy, chic and vintage. This is one of my favorite clothing and accessories stores on Main Street. There are tons of styles and brands that I usually cannot find anywhere else. I bring in my used clothing to sell on a monthly basis and I usually end up selling 80% of the clothes I bring in. The rest is donated to charity or you can choose to take the clothes that do not sell back home with you. Bring in clothes I am bored of, collect my money from previous sales and buy something else. I love this store! They have some unique items from accessories, clothing, vintage & new, shoes, books and so much more. They also do consignment, which Ive tried to do but I think my stuff was just not cool enough. I often come to this store and spend so much time just looking at the different items they have. I stopped in today to check the place out since I drive past it every day and got curious. I came in at 5:40 after work and was promptly informed by 2 separate employees within my first minute of browsing that they would be closing in 20 minutes. I wasn't touching anything or trying anything on and I certainly didn't intend to stay until the last minute (or even the last 5 minutes), but judging by the two separate prompts to leave and glares from the employees it was clear that a quick browse wasn't welcome. I get it, I worked retail too, but if someone is just looking and the store has plenty of other shoppers left it's really not necessary to approach me twice individually 20 minutes before closing. They had some cute stuff I would've loved to look at but I felt so unwelcome that I just left. Message received, I won't be back! read more

I visited the gift and gadget sections of the store which has a separate entrance from the consignment section. It has a great selection of interesting, unique and unusual knick knacks, gadgets and paper products. I found a key chain holder and an iPhone cover which I had only seen overseas. A really amazing shopping experience for anyone visiting Vancouver. The price range was really low compared to similar shops like Anthropology. I found fantastic jewelry, two cute bags and a great shirt. The consignment section was not labeled well at all (particularly the jeans) and the customer service was terrible (the cashier quoted policy at a customer in a terrible tone just minutes after she purchased something she wanted to return), but if you are willing to shop and discover on your own, it is a great place to shop. read more

Vancouver is all about living green. From the first day we got to the hotel, earth hour was being heavily publicized and everybody was asked to partake in the ritual of conservation. I don't believe i've ever seen this many consignment stores either. The good thing about front and company is that you don't really feel like you're in a consignment store. Granted, they also have new clothes, which are more steeply priced, though still affordable. This is probably one of the best organized consignment stores I have seen too. One side of the store is luxury brands, then the other consignment section is organized by type of clothing, and then another rack full of clothes that have been in the store for 30+ days, at a deeper discount. One persons trash is obviously anothers treasure. read more

Horrible customer service. I brought in a bag of clothes to consign. They looked through and said they didn't want any of it, returned my bag with a missing item. The item was a 150$ Aritzia vest that they claimed was never there. I'm 100% sure it was and in fact it was the first item on top of my bag. I discussed my concerns with their "acting assistant manager" who claimed they never saw it. I asked to see the security footage of me walking into the store (where you would see the vest on top of my bag) and she said that couldn't be done but that she would review it and send stills to me via email. She told me she would email me by the end of the day and I never heard back! This place is very shady! I will never shop here again as a result of this incident. read more

One of my absolute favourite vintage / consignment stores in town. They have a knack for getting their hands on some great pieces and their window displays are always amazing. If one didn't know better just taking a quick glance over you would think this is just another random boutique instead of a consignment/used store. Front and Co. is no exception to the beautiful boring 'sleepy' city lacking in actual culture and limited in the sense of glamour or chic style that is Vancouver. That in and of itself, is fine (blame the west coast weather). But, the consignment section is severely overpriced regardless of 'designer' or not and what they accept is grossly overhyped. Their sense of style is biased and years behind or at most basic, and thus it is silly for them to be so serious and snooty about what they'd bring in. It's not entirely their fault, but in terms of actual curation choices, price points, and the over-casualness in attire without it being really unique or beautiful-there is much to be desired. Their sense of what will sell may be somewhat accurate for Vancouver (hippie chic, rayon/poly blend cheap floral prints made to look 'elegant' but is just a kitschy east van equivalent of fashion we've seen for probably the last 15 years, sold at cheap stores like Exposure...). Yet, their sense of what has been in style, is outdated-or very basic-but seems to work in their niche and for them. Expect a lot of the cheaper more hippie side of the 'free people' line but sold for way too high a price, crushed velvet and chenille crap which has been 'trending' for probably 5+ years, and new items such as the brand 'echo' which one could find in any discount tourist outlet store in any city. You may find a few things here and there. At the least, as with many other places I've consigned, they could offer a way to donate what you don't want, and easily set that up with local stores or donation service to pick up, as to not take up their limited space. With much to be desired and improved upon in this city, I think Front & Co as well could take some cues from other cool secondhand stores doing it right (Ie., the option for a customer to be present at the picking through of clothing, rather than this silly "genius behind the curtain!" BS; a better price point for the stuff you get; more adventurous and actually fashion forward selection.) you may actually surprise yourselves with new clientele! read more

I'm writing about this shop as a consigner, not as a shopper. If you're looking to consign your clothes, don't bother here. I'm now 100% convinced the consignment part is a "Front" (haha). I tried to drop off a bag of new-condition, in-season clothes here (they were in the same style, and better condition than what was offered for sale on the racks), and they didn't take anything. Two stars. But I stand behind the "Meh. I've experience better" descriptor because that's exactly what I have experienced. Let's break it down... Consignment - 1 star Yes, I understand you are selective. Yes, I understand you have limited space. But I have brought in some nice stuff, along the lines that you request (2 years old max, in-line with specific fashion recommendations I was given etc) and nothing. I don't get it. And while you are looking through my options, I always have PLENTY of time to look through what you are selling for consignment. And this is why I don't get when you tell me that what I bring in isn't inline with what sells at your store. Because I can tell you, a lot of what I see is WAY more than 2 years old, some of it is really kinda unbelievable (not in a good way) and there are several pieces I've seen not in the best condition or remotely interesting in a fashion sense...be it hipster or anything else. Also, please update your website so that Jan is not included in months to bring winter clothes. Because it currently is, I checked before coming in. Only to be told you aren't accepting winter clothing. And don't tell me that is what is on the voicemail. I didn't call voicemail. I checked your website. Sales - 2.5stars Better than consignment, but seriously, the prices on second-hand clothing is totally out of whack. There are some new pieces that are interesting. But to be honest, I have no idea what this store is trying to be. I feel like it used to have much more going for it, but lately, there is literally nothing I even want to try on even though I feel like there should be. So the best thing about this place is their window display. Dont get me wrong i have found some nice stuff there in consignment , but for the most part ...ITS EXPENSIVE. All the new stuff is wayyyy over priced...Whoever heard of paying $40 for leg warmers?...Come ON!!!!! If you try to consign there better make sure you got the cream of the crop, Baby (or make sure the girls who choose clothing are in a good mood). I brought a Betsy Johnson sweater and pin up girl shoes (brand new w/stickers on it) and they denied me consignment saying it was too nice, maybe around prom season for the shoes & they flat out denied my Betsey. Wtf? I sold it independently on Craigslist for $50. ....... and the shoes I gave to a trampy friend Just be ready for snobbery when shopping there. read more

Delighted with my most recent find. A brand new Schott perfecto biker jacket, with tags. Fits perfectly and sold for a great price. Had been searching for a biker jacket for eons. Bought it on the spot coz I knew it'd be nabbed in no time. Mission accomplished. I wish I could give these guys 5*, but I'm still pretty ticked at the abundance of disposable bags that leave their store. Since Turnabout charges for their disposable bags, there's been a huge drop in bag requests which is great. read more

Every time I venture into the designer section at this consignment/retail emporium I have the overwhelming urge to lie underneath the racks and gleefully bat at the pretty dresses like an awkward kitten. For a woman who is notoriously horrible at keeping on top of her laundry, having this store within striking distance has saved more then a few business meeting ensembles. Their consignment section is well laid out and though the price range can be hit or miss, if you're down to dig a little, there are treasures to be found. Last pass through I made it out with a pretty brown leather blazer ($34) and a handful of breezy collared tops ($15-$25) perfect for throwing together a last minute, shoot-I-forgot-about-it, god-make-me-look-professional outfit for meetings. But their designer section, just off to the left as you enter, is their true calling card. Their selection is incredible and you'll often land a piece at 50-70% off the regular price. For most of us, that price still requires some serious penny pinching but after making googly eyes with a great little Mackage leather bomber a few weeks back which at 50% STILL made my wallet quiver, I blissfully discovered they offer lay away! I tucked away my darling little jacket and in a few short (and monetarily painless) weeks it was mine! Tip of the hat to you Front & Company! In addition to consignment goodness, this spot offers a good selection of new products and quirky gifts. I picked up a few fun ornaments and a novelty soother (with a handlebar moustache... shush, it's hilarious) for my pending niece over Christmas and was happily surprised at the array of easy present options they have on-hand. The only thing I find spotty at Front & Company is the service, which can be very hit or miss. At times, the staff are friendly, chatty and unbelievably helpful; other times I feel like I have to make a scene to grab someone's attention or awkwardly disturb their conversation with a co-worker to get some info. I will say however, that EVERY time i've been there the staff working the change rooms have been super helpful and accommodating so cheers to them! All in all, happy consignment finds and quirky times - Front & Company is my kinda place. read more

I would like to leave feedback upon the management of the store, and their immoral use of "training" people. Firstly, I had brought in my resume applying for a job. The female manager, appearing cheerful and honest, invited me for an interview the following week as the other manager, male, had to be apart of the hiring process. Fine, OK. I came into the interview, was told to walk around a bit. After 15 minutes of wandering and waiting for their tardiness, they invited me to the adjacent store to interview me. They asked me the preliminary questions, as any interviews must, and then invited me for a 'trial day', which would be an hour. I have no idea what a trial day is but back East, where I am from, they don't have these arbitrary "trial days" and if they do, they are probational periods, which leads to my next point. When I came in for my trial day, they gave me these basic instructions, "Prove to me your customer service skills. Help people with clothing in their hands, straight the racks, but greet everyone and make everyone feel welcomed." Okay, easy enough. I followed her instructions, asked questions when unsure. After the one hour, they told me they would call me back. I left UNPAID as they never called me back. Basically, for that ONE HOUR, I WAS UNPAID and LEAD ON. And how the hell is one to prove themselves in one day with such bullsh*t instructions, no introduction to the process or how the store operates. Just thrust into the most random situation and no help. Wow. Thanks FRONT for not paying me for that one hour and wasting my time. I will never shop there again, as it is obvious they do not care about people. read more

I love this shop! They have fabulous consignment and unique new clothing and accessories at pretty decent prices (and sometimes the odd true bargain, like Roberto Cavalli jeans for $25), plus a plethora of absolutely fascinating stuff of every description. Hands-down the very best place to buy a present for a man. Any man. Or any woman, for that matter (for some reason, there are far more places to buy gifts for women, perhaps because most women enjoy receiving so many kinds of things: earrings, bracelets, necklaces, chocolates, flowers ... but I digress). So ... hands-down, the very best place to buy gifts. Period. Where else could a dedicated marine mammal rescue volunteer like myself run across a reusable shopping bag that tucks conveniently (and adorably) into a small leather seal? Funny books (genuinely funny - my friend and I about peed ourselves laughing at a book of cat poetry, and neither of us even owns a cat), joke gifts for literally every occasion, Pac Man and Ninjago alarm clocks, and just about anything for the person in your life who loves mustaches - it's not just magnets and silly straws, you know. I bought myself the Shakespearean insult mug that I've been eyeing for a while now. There is also an Adam & Eve mug (with disappearing fig leaves, of course). After you spend an hour perusing the tables in the main shop, don't forget to head next door to their sister shop, which is filled with EVEN MORE cool stuff, including a niche full of baby gifts. I know with consignment stores it can be hit or miss, but with Front & Company, I've never had a hit. I like the concept. I love the window displays, which are creative and eye catching. I just haven't been able to find one thing that is worth while. Yesterday, I almost come close to getting a silk dress in the consignment section. But the price tag was $56 and the hem had completely come undone. I thought, well if I get this, I will have to take it to get the hem fixed, not really worth it. Maybe with this type of store I have to go on a regular basis to have a chance at the newly arrived stuff. But it all boils down to I'm too lazy and would like a store that better curates the stock. read more

I'm a huge fan of Front N Co. I've been coming here for years - both as a shopper and as a consignor. I believe that they most well run consignment stores in the area and I shop A LOT. I've seen the place grow from their first store to what they are now. I mourned the fire that kept me from their store a couple years back and rejoiced when the new store provided an even better experience shopping experience. They always have a great selection of other people's cast offs and the store doesn't have the stale smell that many other consignment store has. There's a bit for everyone - whether you're for a great selection of samples, vintage clothing, designer duds, men's clothing, accessories, housewares and gifts, consignment stuffs, shoes, purses... you're very likely to find something here. The prices are decent - not the lowest in town but not the priciest. They don't specialize in anything in particular (if you want a beauty of a vintage dress, I'd go to Burcu's Angels on Main and 17th)- they have an excellent inventory of treasures. Keep your eyes open for ANY of their Rummage Sales. The deals are outstanding. I have picked up Prada skirts for 8 bux, Vivienne Westwood pumps for under $30 and the list just goes on. I would beware of some of the designer duds (i.e. purses) since they can't authenticate that it is real. It's up to you to do your homework. Still, I bought a great AUTHENTIC LV bag for $144 (retail price: over $1000). I also regularly consign here because i know that they are organized. They have become more picky over the last couple of years but most of my goods get sold so they're doing something right. Go just to look at their windows who are designed by their own staff and are changed frequently. They are spectacular and showcase the talents of their staff. They are a creative bunch and I am amazed at their abilities and vision. You know what? Just Go! read more
