The best way to describe it is a "Cracker Barrel wanna-be" without the charm. To give the name the "general store" flair, it tries to sell stuff you would have seen "back in the day", but there is so much overpriced stuff that is overwhelming. If you're looking for a food meal- don't try this place. If you're looking for a food sandwich and a bag of chips then this is your place. It is advertised they make "in house sweet treats" but everything is bought and packaged as "in house". If you want the same exact sweet treat then go to food city and purchase. Much cheaper and the same thing. The owner seems nice but she talked so much and so loud that it felt like nails on a chalk board. They have a tiny space advertised as sitting space. One booth and like 2 tables Not worth the trip across the mountain.

You get real people that live in the community and are friendly and glad to see you. You get a real butcher that actually knows meat, someone that can get or cut what you need if they don't have it out. You will get a person at the register that will offer to help you out even if you only have a few things. You however won't get to fight crowds, you won't have to park a thousand feet away, you won't have to deal with 50,000 sq.ft. of store with only 4 registers open. You will never ever have to "check yourself" out. You won't be supporting some Virginia community instead of your own. Oh yea....if you decide to swing by a restaurant on the way to or from shopping; you won't have to pay 11% in fast food tax and further support another states community versus your own. So give a local place a chance next time; it may surprise you. (I am not affiliated in any way with IGA or food world).

Use the facilities and they were very clean as well. The food was good. Was not a fan of the coleslaw but everyone has their own recipe, and not everybody's going to like every unique recipe for coleslaw. The burger was cooked perfectly. It was quite messy but I think that was part of the recipe and that was intentional with the amount of things that were put on the burger. Is it a great value? No, I don't really think so. There are other locally owned establishments that have larger portions and our price slightly less. Would I come back again? Yes! There are so many other things that I would like to try and I truly believe in supporting the local community by going to locally own businesses.
