Great place to watch the Hawkeyes. Love that they have a popcorn machine but otherwise don't plan on eating here. The wings look boiled and that they didn't fry them. The pizza was toasty on top but underdone on the bottom. As a bar, 5 stars! For food, 2-3 stars.

I was really impressed with my $12 steak dinner on Thursday night! I reluctantly met my friend there, and plan to take my caveman boyfriend back sometime. Keep in mind that this is a bar that serves food occasionally, so don't expect the usual tableside service. It is a bit of a free-for-all and logistics of the buffet line and food delicerycan certainly be improved, but the staff is super friendly. Now I know what to expect for next time! Note: karaoke only on second and fourth Fridays of the month.

Some biscuits and gravy, sausage, scrambled eggs with some salsa, and a very spicy Bloody Mary. Yum!

My favorite dining companion and I don't really frequent sports bars often, but we were intrigued by the free breakfast with the purchase of a Bloody Mary at Front Row. We decided to stop in and give them a try. When you walk inside, you can immediately tell this is an Iowa Hawkeye bar, from the Hawkeye memorabilia all around, as well as the bright yellow wall in the back. If you're looking for a place to watch a Hawkeyes game, you're definitely in friendly territory. Overall when we arrived, they weren't extremely busy, but they had a decent crowd. The patrons range quite a bit in age, which is always nice to see. It's definitely a place that has a lot of regulars. We ordered our two Bloody Mary's, one for each of us, for $20 total. We then headed over to the tables with the food, to see what our options were. There was some breakfast pizza, which was not particularly good, but that's fine. I wasn't here for breakfast pizza. I immediately saw biscuits and sausage gravy. Score! The biscuits were nice and flaky, but substantial. The sausage gravy looked and smelled quite hearty, so I piled upon my split biscuit and continued on. The eggs were fairly standard but good. The sausage was well cooked. There had been bacon, but if you're from around here, you know how quickly bacon goes at a breakfast buffet. Last but not least was a full fledged omelet station, complete with lots of meat, veggie, and cheese options to complete your omelet. We had one made to order with sausage, bell peppers, onions, and mushrooms. It was well cooked, and delicious. All in all, we liked Front Row. It's a nice laid-back environment, where any age group can feel at home. The food is quite solid, and the Bloody Mary's are quite generously strong (you basically get a glass of ice and vodka that's 2/3 vodka and ice), and the toppings bar for the Bloody Mary's includes a multitude of mixes, many pickled veggies to throw inside, and of course lots of hot sauces and spices to perk things up. We'll definitely be back, and we'd definitely recommend paying them a visit if Bloody Mary's and a nice breakfast buffet are up your alley.

    Lunch buffet during Hawkeye games.

We ended up quite impressed with the value and our server, Kelbe was fantastic - offering great suggestions off of the Happy Hour menu! Overall, this is a top-tier venue for your next Happy Hour trip (especially once they get the rooftop opened)! To share as much as we could about their Happy Hour, we sampled as many food dishes as we could comfortably eat, with all of them being solid options that we would order again. We started with a Margarita (see picture) and a Raspberry Mule (see picture) and while both were very good, it is hard to beat the value for the Margarita. For our food options, we tried all of the following shown in order of my preference (see pictures for each): Shrimp Street Tacos, Carne Asada Street Tacos, Wings (Tropical Habanero sauce), Lettuce Wraps and Buffalo Rangoons. A few comments to understand the priority order: I love street tacos, the wings were good but could have used a bit more sauce, the lettuce wraps were very good - but oh, so messy with the rice and just a bed of lettuce rather than a wrap and the rangoons were good, but a bit too overbrowned. First, shame on me for not looking at the menu more closely, but I ordered a flatbread pizza…read more($12.99) and added pepperoni and banana peppers, not realizing that each topping is an additional $3 each (outrageous!). I thought a generic flatbread pizza included up to 2 toppings. However, on closer inspection of the menu, adding toppings is more expensive than ordering a specialty pizza as a flatbread. Unbelievable! I was given a flatbread pizza that was as thin as a tortilla and had burnt corners along with 10 pieces of pepperoni and 8 banana peppers. I could've made my own flatbread pizza at home for a fraction of the cost, and it would've been way better quality. I still can't believe I had to pay $21 for this poor quality food. Even the waitress agreed it was ridiculous to be charged that much for this pizza. I will never eat here again. Expensive and poor quality - it's not worth your time.

The main bar and game rooms basically switched sides of the building, with the bar now on your left when you enter the building...and greatly improved lighting! Tonight we went with the Jalapeno Smash Burger (see picture) and were quite impressed - both with the burger and the fries. It was $10 Smashburger & Fries night, so the Value shot to a 5* rating as this was a great deal for some great food! We will definitely be watching the nightly specials as both Steak Night and Gyros Night look like excellent opportunities for the future!

I finally tried some food here and it was decent. The Flatbread had a lot of extra butter on it…read more(not sure if it was butter or oil) but it had a butter taste. It didn't need any of that. But it was decent. My friend had a smashburger & fries and loved it. It looked really good & not greasy at all. The place is a lot better since it changed ownership. The icky carpet is gone. The bathrooms are cleaner and the ladies room has feminine hygiene stuff which I think more bathrooms need to have. They have new chairs & tables. The chairs are actually comfortable. There is more staff working and so far they've all seemed very friendly & attentive. There are new cooks as well. New menu. Decent happy hour specials. Definitely recommend.
