I stopped by for a quick carry out order of potato skins. Color me unimpressed. The bartender was very dismissive and acted bothered that I was taking up his time to order. This was my first time to the new location. I liked the coziness of the old location but this one still has the good vibe. Football on all TVs. Bartender was great. Prices decent and the portions huge. Overall you still get the football crowd and the energy that comes with the games. I had the pickle fries and the fried cauliflower. A little over three years ago now I received a message from David Anders inviting me to check out a new location they were opening up originally branded 3 Sons Bar and Grill. David started his Chicken Coop brand over 20 years ago and this latest iteration was to be named honoring his sons. Life was happening at that time and I always regretted not getting back to him (and not getting there before now). This is the old Legends location at 60th and Ashworth. It's rare that I don't take pictures...and I really wish I had. The pictures I included were sent to me by David. We ordered an order of mozzarella sticks, the fish sandwich, 10 bone-in wings (Jamaican Jerk), a soda and a water. The total for dinner was around $50 and change. Wings have gotten harder to find in the grocery stores and the prices have gone up...if you haven't noticed. I really like how they opened up and brightened the space. I probably only visited that Legends location a couple of times, but I don't remember it like this. Service was fantastic and there was one thing that really stood out to me. Every server I saw was an adult male. No young men and no women. I don't point this out for any reason other than it's unusual to see. They may employ both and they just weren't working last night. These gentlemen did a fantastic job taking care of us and across the floor as far as I could see. It's seat yourself. We grabbed a comfortable booth along the wall. Table and chair seating is available as well as a bar. There are TVs everywhere! We were greeted right away, our drink orders taken, and given menus. Our server was quick with refills and checked on us a couple of times. The menu seemed like the pretty standard menu if you've been to a Chicken Coop location. The mozzarella sticks were excellent. A great starter. My gf's fish sandwich was massive. It came with two filets. She ate one on the sandwich and one by itself on the side. Her fries and fish were cooked perfectly, the fries were seasoned nicely, and I enjoyed a few myself. My bone-in wings were cooked just as well, to perfection, and were sauced up to just the right amount. You can probably order the wings plain and the sauce on the side if you prefer a DIY version. We did have one small bump. I'd ordered Jamaican Jerk sauce and the wings came out with honey BBQ. It's been a while since I'd been to a CC location and I wasn't sure at first. The honey BBQ sauce is excellent and is one of my top three choices there anyway. Our server agreed it looked like the incorrect sauce. Before he could offer to replace them I told him it was fine and to please not bother anyone about it. I was just curious more than anything. Other than that one minor little bump (and my gf's indecisiveness on where to go for dinner #thestruggleisreal) everything about last night's meal was perfect! The food is subpar because there is no consistency with how it is cooked. The entire staff are not really friendly it is kinda like a clicky bar for regular patrons. I've been there several times just to make sure I wasn't in error and each time I was tolerated and then Bob and Suzy come in and they are falling all over themselves to serve them. I'm not a cheap tipper I usually do 20-30% but hey forget about it UNLESS you are Bob and Suzy. I wish I had four hands so I could give them FOUR THUMBS DOWN . We live a short distance away, and three of us decided to stop in for dinner earlier this week.We were seated right away and got in our drink orders. They had a good list of beer, wine, and cocktails, including a martini list.I got a martini, which was excellent! My wife got a glass of wine, which was reasonably priced, and a good wine. The other person in our party got iced tea, which was constantly refilled throughout our stay. We placed our food orders and our food came out pretty quickly. I got the chicken Philly Steak. It exceeded my expectations. It was flavorful, tender, and had lots of good flavors with the veggies and cheese. My wife got a turkey burger, which was a great flavor, with a decent cole slaw side. The other diner in our party got the the grilled chicken sandwich, selecting a sauce from the wing sauces, and adding bacon. He and I both got buffalo chips for our side. They had a nice bit of kick, and we each got a good-sized portion. Our server was in training, but was very attentive and professional. The training server also checked in on us, so we really felt well-cared for! There are a lot of TVs tuned to sporting events, and there is a large patio, but it didn't have any furniture on it...not sure if they are going to be using that or not. This was the old Legends, and they have completely cleaned and rehabbed the building into a modern, fresh look. The fries were cooked to perfection. The sandwich was ok but lacked flavor besides salt. My son said wings were ok. Didn't have high expectations but was surprised when I entered. Looked to of been renovated within a few years and had a nice layout with lots of TVs. I came for the football and they did have it playing. Ordered a bacon cheeseburger with fries, which was hot and delicious. The dry rub wings (spicy rub) was good, juicy and hot. Wasn't a big fan of the garlic Parmesan but they were still well cooked. It's was a bit pricey but when the foods good I can't complain too much. Couple mules, burger and fries plus 20 wings was $54. This is the original Ledgends location. We went on a Friday at 2 on a snowy day. The place was pretty empty. my friend and I are looking for the best happy hour. One with half price appetizers, well drink specials and a drink that involves something like a Mike's. hard lemonade or a cider. We ordered a couple of drinks and an appetizer sampler. I got the wrong drink, I tried to drink it, but wanted what I ordered so I sent it back. My friend ordered a vodka grapefruit. it appeared to be mostly grapefruit. The appetizer platter was very good. it had buffalo chips, onion rings, mozzarella sticks, and wings (we chose garlic jalapeno). It came with marinara and ranch or blue cheese dressing, we got both dressings. The ranch was so delicious, we wanted more stuff to dip in it. Their happy hour starts at 2. They have no food on their happy hour. No fruity drink on my category, the second vodka grapefruit was mostly grapefruit. Did my friend look like she had scurvy? So in our happy hour scale the early start of happy hour is the only points they got. The restaurant it st is very nice. it was nicely remodeled and looks lovely. Bathrooms were clean. They have paper towels, bonus points. Service was ok. we were drinking and talking and didn't command full attention. I can guarantee we won't be back for happy hour, but for some wings and ranch dressing maybe. they do have daily specials. That bartender needs to pour a little stronger drink. This is a great place for great food! Jeremy our waiter was on the ball with our families drinks and any other requests we had! Our mules were the best I have had! Get the watermelon mule! Don't waste your time with the others (however I'm sure they are good too!) I had a grilled chicken breast and plenty of veggies for my low carb dinner with a few cheater mules and it was awesome! The Chicken Coop has a good menu for a bar but also for take out. We enjoyed the chicken wings and the Santa Fe chicken salad. We got a combination of the spicy dry rub and kicked bourbon on the wings. The spicy rub was hot! While dry, it did feel more moist than traditional dry rubs. More than what you expect from the outside, as this place exists in a small strip mall. Nice sports bar with lots of TVs. I sat at the bar and the bartender was a cool guy who engaged with a number of locals. I ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich. It appeared hand breaded and the buffalo sauce was a nice heat level.
