The food is very good and some staff are very friendly and go above and beyond. My mother in law…read morewas there from the summer of 2025 and left before Christmas 2025 because she was paying the highest level of care but not receiving care. My husband would visit daily. She was not getting her weekly showers and received frequent UTI's. She was not changed when wet and her sheets were soiled. She wore a gold cross necklace and her gold chain was replaced with a cheap chain. She lost 10 pounds in 3 months not always taken to the dining room. There were activities planned but they did not always happen because there was no staff available. PT's were not consistent and she was not making progress with walking. It was not uncommon to see employees sitting on their phones throughout the building. Not sure if they were on their breaks or not. Several residents said that things were better last year. We left Brookdale in Brookfield off Bluemound Road and took my mother in law to a different facility. At the new facility, she has always been dressed with her earrings on and eats in the dining room. At the new facility she is getting her baths and is able to walk the length of the PT room now. She eats in the dining room and participated in social activities daily.

Judging by just one visit, it seemed a little disorganized, but they are pretty new. Nice friendly group of residents, the kitchen dining area is very pleasant. The grounds still need landscaping (the expansion is very new), and the parking area is just barely adequate in size.

Not using safety equipment appropriatly. Asked and signed for safety equipment on Tues and did not get rails on bed until Friday. Pt tried to get up Tuesday night during a fire drill!! In the middle of the night!! Family was told it was a drill. Why was there a drill at night? No one called person listed as first to call about the fall. Not notified of abrasions on pts knees. Nursing assistant allowed to speak to family inappropriately! With family witnesses in the room administrator sides with staff. Due to conflicting stories family not allowed to see family member who is now at his limited defense's. The only thing 4-5 stars is the building!

Being able to stay in the same complex is a bonus in not having to adjust to a new environment at a time you are more vulnerable. The facility offers many amenities for every type of lifestyle. There's an onsite gym/pool, chapel, library, beauticians, extension of the MOWA art museum. They offer many excursions around Milwaukee and being on the bluff above Lake Michigan offers a great location to watch lakefront festival fireworks all summer long. In addition to the regular cafeteria style dining, St. John's offers a higher end dining option with Taylor's. The service at Taylor's is impeccable and really gives you the feel that you are out for the special dinner overlooking Lake Michigan. The apartments (at least the one I visit) in St. John's are a little dated but the common areas have all been updated and the facility continues to expand. Keep up the good work St. John's, the facility, staff and amenities seem to be top notch.

Poppa's temporary home…read more.. Pretty standard for a nursing home type facility; splendid smell comes at no extra charge. There's a lot of coughing, a lot of "help me, help me" and a few strange patients including, but not limited to a) the whistle guy who, you guessed it, is ALWAYS whistling, b) the lady with purple headphones who just turned 100 who wants to know who drew the "no smoking" sign and c) the lady who repeatedly asks, "what if there's a fire?" Cool place, but let's hope Poppa (what I call my Grandpa) can return home soon. Until then, bring on the wheelchairs, hand sanitizer, oxygen tanks, and crazy cute old people.

Well now that I/we have had to utilize this property for rehabilitation/assisted living for my Mom, it is absolutely horrible. With in the first 4 days of being here, our Mom fell multiple times, she was placed in quarantine and no one could visit her to see what was actually taking place, because she came from a hospital setting. Once her 14 day quarantine was up, even with the Lasata Staffing knowing that they had a positive Covid testing of an employee, they moved our Mom to a different room, to start another 14 day quarantine. Luckily we were able to find and secure a new living facility for her, with in a weeks time, only to get her and see that her leg, ankle and foot were swollen. When Lasata was questioned no one would return call soft over a day. When they did call back they more or less said not our problem she's not enrolled with us any more. What a heartless caring staff you are Lasata - from the conference calls to now having a Mother in worse shape since her arrival to your facility proves / answers my unanswered questions - it's all about the money and the number of residents you keep- there is NO CARE for the resident or their families. Sham on you all!!

My father was supposed to be transported to dialysis two times a week and they messed up not one but two Saturdays in a row not sending him with the lift he needed to get into the chair for dialysis. The dialysis place was only 10 minutes away From Newcastle, so you think they would go back and get what they needed so he could get the medical care that was required. But instead, they let him sit there for hours until they could swing back and bring him back to their facility without having had dialysis. The fact that this happened a second Saturday in a row was completely unacceptable. Not only were we not able to get a baseline for two days a week dialysis, my father needed to step up and be on three times a week dialysis now. Thank goodness, we found a place in Oak Creek that actually cares about its residents. They are personable and treat residents there like people. The beds are thin and so uncomfortable that my father slept in a chair most nights. I would not recommend this place at all.
