The camping loops are clean, great picnic tables, fairly clean bathroom/shower building, and friendly rangers. We spent a fair amount of time swimming and floating in the water. It's not too chilly and mostly shallow to the first water buoy. Beware, there's a lot of plant life which can entangle you. Sandy beach. We completed the 1-1.5 mile hike up Steamboat Rock. Stunning view accessed by a sometimes steep and loose rock journey. Go early in the morning and really take your time to stay safe.

The rooms don't have coffee but they brew it in the office at 7am. I'm an early-riser so they provided me a small coffee pot. So nice! In the morning I sat with my coffee and watched boat cruise up lake to go fishing, geese paddle from one side of the lake to the other and a family of quail with 15+ chick's graze for breakfast. Disappointing, but not a deal breaker, is the small TV. We had our own electronics so we were good. Very reasonable price, very peaceful and well worth the visit. Would highly recommend this privately owned, personally run businsss. We will return.

Really this should be a 4.5 star review but I rounded up…read more Starting with positives, the Ala Cozy is charming and quiet. The motel sign is a great photo opportunity. Being able to park in front of the room is fantastic. I didn't hear any road noise or noise from neighbors as the only other car in the lot was several rooms down from me. Communication was prompt and friendly (hence the rounding up) and my room itself was very clean. The price was surprisingly affordable and the dog fee was low. Even though it was a cold night, my room was toasty and I slept soundly. My only reasons for the -1/2 star are that the drapes in the sitting area wouldn't shut entirely so I would have had to have a clothespin on hand (which I did not) to make the bedroom more private. Also, the sitting room couch was a little scruffy so the "no dogs on the furniture" rule seemed unnecessarily restrictive. Would I stay here again if visiting the local State Parks? Yes, definitely.

Paying this amount and having them in your bed all over the floor and hearing the crunch as you walk. My special needs daughter was terrified. The response I got from them is they are completely harmless. Ok but had i wanted to deal with them I would have went camping. Will never be staying here again. This is the kind of business just wants to make money and careless about what "bugs" they have. I wouldn't even give them a 1 star rating.
