Coming here every year is my family tradition. My parents took me to Coulee Playland when I was young, and I took my boyfriend (now husband) camping here every year since we met. I feel like we've experienced different weather every time. 100+ degrees out one year, terrifyingly windy the next year. Smokey and nearly unbearable a couple of times, but I will always come back. This place means the world to me and I can't wait to have kids & take them here too. Amazing waterfront sites, a general store within the campground, & ice cream. I couldn't ask for anything more. Great place! Friendly employees. Gary is a great guy! He helped me pick out fishing gear for walleye and trout fishing at Banks and Columbia River. He even recommended me good fishing spots. When I go fishing here, in the summer and fall, I always go here to stock up on live worms and supplies. Also, tried their camp site, and worth the money. read more

we could never find the office and there were RV sites open. therefore we didn't stay. didn't answer phone, no message.

We checked in today. It was nice as the staff advised us there was another spot open if we wanted it. We took a walk around and looked and decided to go with it. The store is stocked with a lot of fishing gear. Ice is cheaper here than at the Safeway in town. The rate seems high at 46 a night, yes we are here during peak season but that to me is still high. But they are mostly booked, there are only a couple sites open. We are here for a few days so I will review when we check out. There seems to be a lot of people, boats, and observing to do. read more

Interaction this morning when my wife called to inquire about reservations. He basically answered like "what?" And then I asked if they had any openings this weekend and he did this huge sigh, waited like 30 seconds and was like "no, fully booked". If you can't answer a phone like you enjoy your job and pass off your distaste to someone inquiring about reservations maybe you should find a new job. Based off this interaction myself and my wife will never give this company money. Maybe get someone to answer the phone who cares about its customers and not treat it like it's a pain to actually do your job. read more

My son and I came to Banks Lake to fish. Steamboat was closed to camping due to Covid 19 so we "RV'd" in the SUV and the boat at Coulee Playland Resort. Glad we stayed here. Most sites are amongst the trees and there's a laid back ambience permeating the whole resort. The general store has tons of fishing tackle and RV essentials. They've also got a boat launch, marina and 0% ethanol fuel for your boat motors. The nice folks here are genuinly happy you stayed at the place. And get this, the coffee pulled from that big urn on the counter was worth a second cup! Where else does that happen????????? read more

My experience at Coulee Playland was positive. I found the office staff to be helpful. For those into fishing, the office store is basically a tackle shop. The campground offers a variety of spaces including overlooking the lake, at the shoreline, and set back. There are trees but if you're looking for full shade and privacy you'll be disappointed here. If you have a boat, want to rent a watercraft, or just want to play / swim in the water, you'll probably be satisfied. There is a fuel pump. RV sites have a variety of hook-up options. Spaces have picnic tables. The shower / toilet facilities were basic; not spotless but definitely attended to (suffering from the usual insults of the few campers who refuse to clean up after themselves and respect public spaces). During our stay campers were courteous and respectful of the quiet hours. Be prepared for mosquitoes. read more

This is a gem of a spot, with a great, friendly owner and staff. Right on the lake with many lake front sites and many with lake views. Very nice electrical hookups that look fairly new and well maintained. Not all sites have a sewer hookup, but there is a convenient dump station on site. A nice double ramp for launching your boat, very nice handling docks with permanently mounted fenders so you don't have to use your fenders if just launching. Mooring docks available. Some of the docks could use a little work, but having them available is extremely nice. There are a couple of sites where you can beach your boat right at your site. The store is very well stocked with tackle, drinks, and grocery/snack items. Prices all seemed very fair. The location and very friendly owner and staff really make this a great place. We plan to return many times to camp and fish. read more

The first time that I walked into the store it reminded me of being a kid and going with my dad to the our local mom and pop tackle shop in Louisiana. My experience with Coulee Playland is limited to patronage of the store. I usually purchase tackle there at random times during the summer, but only if I forget to purchase elsewhere. The store is fairly well stock from the perspective of a strictly recreational fisherman. I am not sure how the store holds up to the demands of more aggressive bass fisherman, but the tackle and supplies available more than meet my needs. The prices are moderate, but if you planned ahead you could purchase most items cheaper elsewhere. The customer service is generally very friendly and you can definitely bump into some interesting people in the parking lot. As an added perk the store selves soft serve ice cream. read more

Upper campground - Wide Gravel space with firepit, grill and picnic table and lake view. Partial hook-ups on wrong side of trailer, had to hide the hose & electric cable under RV mats to prevent tripping. Beautiful view of lake! We were at the front end of park, next to a popular rest-stop/playground where the bathrooms and laundry rooms are located. A lot of different characters stopped and spent hours in that part of the campground and I didn't feel very safe. A woman with 3 kids stopped daily to do her laundry & let her kids swim & play. They were fighting a lot and the noise was very unsettling. Right off of main highway (noisy) at all hours of the day. Only minutes from Grand Coulee. Allowed campfires. Wifi was unsecured and unreliable even next to the wifi router, perhaps due to those at the rest-stop using it too. Restrooms were old, but clean. Showers were only 50cents, but didn't have locking doors and weren't safe or secure. I suggest using the buddy system. The store was very well stocked and ice/groceries were decently priced. The staff was nice and very helpful. read more

Great place to launch your boat and buy tackle. Camping is a fair price with super clean showers. Helpful on what is working to catch fish. Nothing is just amazing so no 5 stars. My regular launch spot when over that way. read more

After having a horrible experience with Sunbanks Resort, my husband, daughter and I found a "no services" state park (Jones Bay). Having no services though, we went into town for water/etc. On our way back from town, the truck started overheating so we pulled into Coulee Playland only to find the water pump completely blew out. We couldn't leave so my husband went down to their store to see if they had a number to a local mechanic since we had no tools on hand. The maintenance guy, Chet, was gracious enough to lend my husband some tools and even drove them up to where we parked the truck. He asked if there was anything he could do to help, we explained that we weren't camping there but had to get some water and happened to break down in their parking lot. He implied that it was no problem and to let him know if there was anything he could do to help! Wow! Awesome! Well, hours later and a few more trips to bother Chet for more tools, we finally rigged the pickup enough to get back to camp. Next day, we get a new water pump (wow, no parts stores open on Sunday in Coulee area) and install it. We were sweaty, greasy, tired, hot, etc. so we went back to Coulee Playland to use their showers. Like other reviews have stated, they could use some updating but were pretty clean overall and a shower felt amazing after that adventure. And at only 50 cents for a long enough shower to clean engine grease off half my body, I'd say its a good deal. Saw Chet again and he asked if everything was fixed and if there was anything else we needed, to be sure and let him know. I can't give it a 5 star because I only used the shower, bathroom some tools and the store but next time I go back to Banks, this is THE Place I will be staying! Awesome service and I didn't even pay to camp there! My daughter and dogs did get to swim while we worked on the truck and the swimming area was nice. I'm sure when the water level is at its normal level, its a lot better but even in the drawdown, it was still nice. Kudos to Coulee Playland and especially to Chet for being so helpful and getting us back on the road! read more

Nice lake. Fun people. Good times. A bar within walking distance that serves the greasiest sausage and eggs breakfast I've ever had. The campsite is conveniently about a mile away from The Grand Coulee Dam where you can get a picture taken with a giant stature of Franklin D. Roosevelt's head. read more

Same time, next year! A large group of families always come back to Coulee Playland, boating, sunning and having fun, every summer since our children were young. They are teenagers now and they would be so mad if we didn't go. Friendly stafff, not uptight. Not fancy by any means and if I had to give it a little criticism it would be about the bathrooms. Although they are cleaned daily, it does seem like there are septic problems. Ah well, just have another drink, plug your nose and they aren't so bad! ;) We have never had a bad stay at Coulee Playland! read more

The absolute worst place I have stayed in eastern Washington, we basically stayed here because there weren't any available sites at sun banks and we wish we hadn't.. Bathrooms were so disgusting and smelled like sewage, you can't bring your vehicle to your site, the way the sites are arranged allows people to walk right through your site, and the staff were NOT friendly at all. They seemed to be lazy because the same mess was in the bathroom our whole 4 day stay.. We will never be back read more

Be careful if you are traveling with kids. There are lots of suspect people who are not vacationing. They are "living" there. Two of the men lurked around the bathroom, hands in their pants staring at the kids. Super creepy. The owner did nothing. Pretty lake, but not safe. read more

Our family camps here every year the middle of Aug. It is a great place for camping with your family. Large camping spots. Some of the spots are RIGHT ON THE WATER. You can look over the lake to a picture perfect sunset while bbq's dinner next to the camp fire. Big grass park to throw a ball around. Swing set. There is a another park not to far away with bathrooms, play set, skate park, ball fields, and lots of room to run. The boat launch is right there at the resort making launching simple, quick and easy. We love the paddle boats too! The laundry and showers are a great thing when you are camping for a long weekend. There is a yurt you can rent that has a large porch around it. Coulee Play land is a great resort and has a special charm that brings us back every year. The town is with in walking distance if you want to walk to dinner or breakfeast. You are with in a couple miles of grand Coulee Dam. Dont forget to see the light show on the dam when you are there. Lake Roosevelt is really close to. There are bass tourneys at Coulee Playland resort that are always fun to watch. Hal has a great staff working with him. We pulled in and were very disappointed with this place. The pictures don't match this place. Several permanent guests, rv spots were uneven on a pile of dirt. We left and went down the street. When both of our parties called and canceled the man was rude and just assumed we went to Sun Banks. This place needs some updates, won't ever go there again! read more

Stayed her many times over the years and have always had a great time. The staff is super nice and the prices are reasonable. The place is well maintained too. It is a bit small, but nice nonetheless. I would definitely recommend this place. It's nice to have everything so convenient and close (store, boat launch, etc) right there. Boat trailer parking is little bit lacking, but we still love it here even so. Grand Coulee Dam and Lake Roosevelt are also very close. read more

we boated up from coulee city for the fun of it today,,, fantastic trip,, but must admit the best part of the trip was pulling in to fuel,, and finding such a friendly staff,,, not only did they except us with open arms,, (very knowledgeable fuel attendant AND friendly) my one year old "attention hound" got away from me,, and (unlike most places who wanna be snotty about pets),,, he treated my mutt as if he'd known her for ages. here's the kicker,, we spent prolly an hour there,,, my dog didn't want to get back in the boat (which she loves),, ignored my calls,, turned her head other way, did NOT want to leave her new buddy "fred" and his owner,, I believe any other time it would have hurt my feelers,, but as we know dogs are smarter then us two legged animals when it comes to knowing who to trust. trust me,, I WILL BE BACK. although I didnt get the priveledge of meeting the owner (but will soon I hope) YOU are one smart person haveing the staff you have surrounded yourself with. 3 thumbs up.
