    Large grass field.

Frontierland Park is a hidden gem. Seriously, it's hidden in the hills. Great neighborhood park with a good vibe. Large entertaining play structure and huge field to run around. A neighborhood park with two restroom area. My bladder is tiny so restroom is a must. Well maintained park with plenty of parking. There is a bbq section with tables. Reservation required. This is a great neighborhood park that welcomes everyone who comes here. Worth checking out if your in the area.

A great park for any day, but especially for a party/picnic. While you can reserve tables and grill for a party, if you get here early enough you can also just grab one of the no reservations needed tables and grill. My family and I brought our own extra table too. This park has a large playground for all ages and a large field for running around, flying a kite, kicking a ball around, etc. There's also plenty of parking. The group at the party we had here were from age 2 and up and we all had something in the park to enjoy. The bathrooms could use some work though.

I've been her a few times to bbq & each time the weather was so beautiful! It was foggy & overcast in SF & even while passing Sea Bowl, but once you pull into the parking lot to Frontierland, everything clears up & the sun shines! My friend figured out that it seems sunken in & is surrounded by hills, so the fog passes right over it & the sun shines right in. The big area that you can rent out has 2 big (i mean big!) grills, lots & lots of counter space (with a sink), & plenty of tables. There are also many little grills and tables around the big grass field. The playground is big! It has a mister (imagine standing in line on a hot day at Universal Studios & they mist water at you), a big play structure to run around, a section for small kids with a comfortable red chair/swing that adults can sit in & hold a child in their lap. There's 1 basketball hoop & 2 different locations of bathrooms to use. This area is very clean & the garbage is emptied out everyday. When going here, map it out because it's really hidden. You'll most likely have problems getting cell phone reception. But when you think you've passed it or took a wrong turn, keep going! You're not there yet! It's passed Terra Nova High School.

Came here yesterday for my friend's son's sixth birthday part. The main picnic area is huge and comes two bbq pits, a huge prep area and sink. The park itself is quaint and great place for families that want to avoid that major parks where everyone in the neighborhood goes to. The community built playground is practically a mirror image of the First Street Park in Benicia. And there are two bathrooms, which is pretty good for a park that size. Enough parking, per say. It may have been cold, with dashes of drizzles and lack, there of, of sun; but I liked this park in the hills. Totally made the drive over worthwhile.

It's relatively small, but is quaint and has a great treehouse feeling structure with two slides of different heights. There's also a sand box and a baby swing and a larger seat like swing with straps. This playground is definitely off the beaten path but if you happen to be in the area, it's cute and can provide quite a bit of entertainment for the 5 & under crowd (at least that's who was with me) honestly I am giving it 4 stars for the really cool construction of the tree house, but for what this park offers, it's more like a 3 star park because it's so small (my son got bored in 20 min) and there aren't bathrooms. Some other things to note: - there's only street parking, which isn't much of an issue in that area except for Sunday's which is when a church that's in front of the park holds services. - there's some llamas (or are they alpacas?) across the street that my son loved to look at. He never saw one before and kept moo-ing at them. Lol! - if you walk further down the street you can see Pacifica State Beach and catch a glimpse of the surfers trying to catch some waves. Provided my son a bit of entertainment too.

A wanderer explained I would need to get back on the freeway and go around etc. so I just shrugged and hauled myself on the paved path to the park. Playground: I'm such a fan because my son is 17 months and the playground was a great size for him. The slides are low to the ground so I feel comfortable with him going down on his own. I wish the swings were longer cause it's a lot back and forth quick swings but he doesn't complain and asks to jump back and forth between the two options. The area is very small, but not crowded so a sweet low key option for a parent who doesn't want to run around too much. There's a fun dome like spinning seat and a larger swing to sit with your kid in as well. There's not a ton at this park but what there was enough. Safety: I felt super safe here! I There were a handful of people with kids resting at some of the few picnic tables who kept to themselves. There were a few teenagers that strode in but they also kept to themselves. The flooring at this park is spongey and I had no worries about my son falling. There is a concrete "stage" with concrete seating around it that my son loved climbing on so I was close-by for that play area. Resting: Plenty of grass for picnics and 2-3 picnic tables that I noticed. Nothing was shaded though. Overall: I would definitely come back. My son was not ready to leave as he loved it here. I just need to figure out the correct parking lot!

As with most Bay Area parks, it has a separate area for children 2-5, which I have seen mostly people with babies use because that area is really contained. Also, since the park isn't very big, the area for children over 5 isn't intimidating to smaller children. This is because unlike larger parks, big kids aren't unknowingly running over the little kids while they are playing. This is a good thing if you are trying to keep track of a small child. The structures are so cute. There is a lighthouse and boat, a dolphin decorated slide, a shark, and toward the back of the structure are two walls for climbing - one with a monster on it and the other - well, it is a bit hard to identify (!?!?). It looks like Pinnochio maybe, but that is a little random. It could be just a dancing boy wearing shorts with suspenders and a feather in his cap - which, is still random, hahaha. Anyway, the walls are fun and my daughter climbs right up them and then swings to a rope and pulls herself up onto the structure that way. Man, I wish I could do what she does! There is a small basketball court as well, so I bring my daughter's bike and she takes turns riding her bike all around the black top and then going on the structures and then back to biking. It's great. We are so lucky to have Moss Beach Park nearby!

I've been going to this park since the 80's when the park wasn't in a good shape. The main reason…read morefor going to this park was to play pick-up basketball when I used to be gung-ho about playing. Even if the court was outdoors, there were always good competition with older Filipino men to go around. Even though I was a kid and younger than them, I gave 'em a few bumps and bruises. After so many knee surgeries, playing basketball is no longer an option for me...let alone playing outdoors on hard concrete. I'll leave that to the younger generation now as I've come to terms that my glory days are way over. Besides, I don't want to be embarrassed as I've become that old Filipino man that I use to clown on the court. Yup, growing old sucks. Since my playing days are long gone, the city and county has poured in a lot of money to improve, not just the basketball court, but the entire park. There's two separate playgrounds for the older kids and toddlers. Both floor decks are made from recycled rubber, which has become the norm for modern playgrounds. It's very soft and bouncy with a little give for extra padding. There's plenty of picnic tables, that is often rented for parties and events. It's also handicap accessible with wheelchair ramps built in for easy access. There's plenty of grassy fields in the picnic areas as well as the baseball field. Dogs are welcomed too and poo bags are available for your disposal. Bring your dog to the old football field just besides the baseball field to let them run around off leash. There's plenty of free parking spaces available in the parking lot, as well as street parking. There's two tennis courts in an enclosed fence that makes it feel like a private court. They have offices and a community center inside, but I've never been in. If you live in the neighborhood, there's pathways that leads you to the park. Be careful though since I've encountered a few coyotes living in the area, including my sister, who lives just a couple of blocks away. It's a good place to be outdoors to get your exercise, walk your dog or just breathe fresh, foggy and cool South San Francisco weather. It's a clean and well-maintained park that's a good place to hang around and staying active.

What Oddstad does have, though, is relative solitude. One can often have the place to one's self (so long as the theater's not in session). I'm a sucker for things built prior to the invention of safety. No squishy sponge mats under the equipment here, and everything is built from metal or aged wood. Seriously, when's the last time you saw a metal slide on a playground? Well, here you go. The swings are for "big kids" (no leg-baskets for the wee), but the slide is aimed more at the mid-toddler market. It's too short for older kids, but waaaaaaaaay too steep and fast for a one-year-old. Picture the Radical Vertical Impact Simulation from the film "Spies Like Us" -- it's basically a cliff, but it's a very short cliff. There are two sets of stairs between the lower and upper parking areas if you want to do some fitness running. Just don't let your in-brain rendition of the "Rocky" theme distract you from watching your footing (a few of the steps are starting to break down a bit). Outdoor basketball is available on the lower parking lot. The backboard and net appear to have been gnawed on by a dinosaur, but otherwise seem perfectly functional, and the pavement is painted with both a "key" and a three-point line. Have fun.
