This place deserves a 0 but due to Yelp's "nice policy" I won't be able to paint a vivid picture of…read morethe most unprofessional experience I've ever encountered. After a long day of thrifting in cowtown we decided to grab a pre-Easter bottle of wine. GPS lead us Colonial liquor in Pennsgrove so we made a pit stop on our way back to Philadelphia. I took my sweet time browsing the bottles of wine unsure of what my palate would want the following day. My friend asked (whom I will presume to be the owner) how much the 99 apples costs. He replied " it's not for sale." Weird, I thought this was a liquor store...... One on my friends proceeded to be ice grilled as she looked at bottles, but she continued to browse thinking the man was merely cautious. Thank heavens the assertive one in the group, realizing this man was PROFILING, said "how about we go to the liquor store down the street?" The man yelled "yeah, get out- go to that liquor store!" Whoa! I don't know anything about Pennsgrove. Maybe it was racism, or ageism, or sexism or Phillyism but I do not support any person or entity that decides to discriminate on anyone based off of a perception. Odd thing is, we did go to the liquor store down the street. Upon seeing brown people we lamented about our experience at Colonial. The locals and the owners agreed that we hadn't lost our minds.

JB Liquors - Excellent store with great service and prices are reasonable. Manager was very helpful in deciding the right wines for us

I'm leaving this review because of the experience I just had. I'm in this store about once a week…read more I'm currently switching my driver's license from PA to NJ and waiting for my appointment. My Pennsylvania license recently expired, so PennDOT issued me a temporary paper license that is fully government issued and valid for 60 days from the date printed on it. It includes my name, address, date of birth, and driver's license number, and it's accepted anywhere that requires valid ID including banks, traffic stops, and state offices. I completely understand that everyone needs to be carded even though I'm 38 and I respect that rules are rules. But the fat miserable lady at the counter was completely disrespectful and ignorant about the situation. She kept insisting I was wrong about my license and even claimed I didn't get it in the mail. She could have just said she didn't know what I was talking about because she's just a cashier, but instead she chose to argue with me. I stayed calm and respectful the whole time while my 13 year old daughter stood there watching. I've seen posts and heard stories about how nasty she can be but this was my first time actually experiencing it. My temporary license is legitimate and government issued, so there was no reason to treat me like I was lying. Instead of just saying I'm not sure but I can't accept this, she chose to belittle me in front of other customers. Totally unnecessary and embarrassing. Do better with your customer service

The staff is always so helpful, guiding you in the right direction, helping to find something in particular, and going above and beyond...as an example: it was very hard to find Not Your Father's Root Beer when it came out a few years ago, especially in South Jersey. Jean (who is an absolute sweetheart and half the reason we go to JB Liquors) took down our number and called us as soon as it came in! We, of course, rushed over and grabbed a six pack. haha JB Liquors, thanks for being there for us all!

Luckily, we live nearby to Swigg, a shop which offers a well curated selection of wines, craft beers, and liquors. BF sent a Facebook message with our shopping list with a brief lowdown of our intentions for each liquor. Within a hour, we received a response that they had selected bottles to meet our needs. Once we pulled into their parking lot, we were quickly addressed and our order was placed into our trunk. The whole ordeal was smooth, seamless, and safe as far as social distancing. We got gin, tequila, a bourbon for mixed drinks, and a bourbon to sip (we needed to stock up, okay?). All bottles were brands I hadn't heard of and wouldn't have selected on my own, but we really enjoyed all of their selections... even the gin, despite the fact that I'm not typically a gin girl. We also added on a "mystery 6 pack" for $12, which came with an assortment of 6 beers and a pint glass. A couple of the beers were winners, though most were mediocre at best. A great deal, but somewhat disappointing. All in all a great curbside shopping experience with excellent, personalized customer service that we would have never gotten at a giant liquor store.

From the major wine countries to the (for USA) smaller wine countries, craft and big name spirits and beer, they have everything you could want at any price point you would want. The part that makes it all meld together well is that there is no "wine snobbery" here (unlike another DE wine store that shall not be mentioned). Whenever I am nearby or need to find something better than what can be found at my local Fine Wine and Good Spirits or Total Wine, I know Swigg will come through for me. Worth the visit!
