I have now visited Amore three times, sitting in the bar area with a friend each time. My first experience was wonderful. The atmosphere was relaxing, the music was great, the food was delicious, and the service was top notch. I left genuinely impressed. Unfortunately, my next two visits were completely different. On my second visit, there was a woman I was later told was a manager. What I witnessed from her was honestly shocking. She was loudly and aggressively speaking to staff members, including someone she referred to as her daughter, in a way that came across as belittling and disrespectful, all within full view and earshot of guests. My friend assured me this wasn't normally the atmosphere at Amore, so I gave it another chance and returned the following weekend. Unfortunately, I witnessed the same type of behavior again: yelling, talking down to employees, and creating an uncomfortable environment in the bar area. At that point, it no longer felt like an isolated bad night. As a guest, I don't expect perfection, and I understand that restaurants can be stressful environments. However, watching employees be spoken to that way, especially by someone in a management position, made it difficult to enjoy the experience. That's disappointing because Amore has so much going for it. The food, atmosphere, music, and other staff have made some of my experiences there genuinely enjoyable. I hope ownership takes a serious look at what's happening during service, because stronger, more professional leadership could make a tremendous difference. Unfortunately, after witnessing the same behavior on two separate visits, I'm hesitant to return.

So this summer, I made sure to visit right before the buzzer: we went on the very last day they were open. But they were definitely not just winding down for their last few hours - it was like a party here. When I first walked up, I was told by a very enthusiastic, and very out of breath girl, that I could play against one of the staff members in a game of pickleball or connect 4 and win a free snow cone. I had my son with me and couldn't really lose sight of him while involved in a competitive pickleball game, so they suggested connect 4. They even gave my son something to color while I played. Well, I blew the game and lost. But they still gave me a free shaved ice anyway. And by the way, it was awesome. I will definitely not be waiting until the last day of summer to visit next year. They have approximately 487 flavor options and they use blue bell ice cream if you so choose to add that. We sat at a picnic table and went to town on our deliciousness as we watched people playing games, listening to music and living their best summer lives. I now understand why the reviews are so great here and am looking forward to May already!
