A los 3 o 4 minutos una muchacha me da el paquete, como que demasiado rápidocometí el error de no chequearlo, y adivine que!! cuando llego a mi casa para comer me habían dado el quemado que les había dicho que no quería. This was one of my favorite spots back in the day. I returned yesterday after a very long absence. I was pleased to find the quality has remained. The food still hold up. We ordered the carne frita with mofongo. It came with a healthy dose of sauteed onions and a side salad. Carne frita is tricky because it can easily be overcooked, thus become extremely dry and hard. They made it perfect, had some moisture. The mofongo was also very good. Their specialty is rotisserie chicken. We also got a 1/2 chicken with arroz con gandules. The chicken was perfectly seasoned and juicy. The portions were generous. We took home leftovers. Overall, the meal was satisfying, as was the service. Parking is in front of restaurant with some additional spaces on the side. FYI - Each table has a notice informing of a temporary price hike on chicken (50 cents on whole chicken, 25 cents on half chicken) due to a shortage and higher costs of chickens. read more

This is a historic restaurant located a 10 min drive from my childhood home. We used to order the Whole Chicken, Mofongo, Cuajo, Sweet Plantains and a few servings of Rice and Beans. For those days it was a nutritious meal for the whole family under $20. That was when Fuentes was a wooden building with the same machete Chicken cutting Man who would take your order and sling away. Today this landmark restaurant is the choice for those in-the-know, similar to Kasalta, yet with a Puerto Rican heritage. I suggest the Empanada de Bistec con Arroz y Habichuelas that was and still is my staple dish. The Mofongo con Carne Frita y Caldo my second choice. Then of course the Half Chicken with Yuca, followed by a side of Morcilla. You just cannot go wrong at Fuentes BBQ. And in the Summer, they also have an Air Conditioned room with plenty of tables, and the attentive staff ready to serve and please the most hardcore Latin American palates who know that Real Caribbean Food starts with Guineos Verdes en Escabeche followed by Dulce de Lechosa con Queso blanco del pais. I am a frequent customer here, the chicken flavor is fantastic. They have a nice variety in their menu when compared to other similar places, but their prices are also slightly higher. I always order a small portion of morcillas or "quajitos", and 1/2 chicken w/mofongo.
