TL;DR - Great little cafe serving Japanese and Korean options.
We came here to see what the newly expanded Hatch had to offer and weren't disappointed. Fukuu is located right at the back of Hatch, over in a corner on the left hand side. The unit itself is really quirky with big neon lettering and lots of those beckoning cat figures.
Menu is short but contains great options - Sparky went for Korean chicken which was hot and spicy in a sticky sweet gochujang sauce; I went for chicken katsu curry. We had both with rice but you can also have fries as an option. There are lots of drinking options at Hatch - we went for a beer from Öl around the corner, but they also sell Asahi at Fukuu which is maybe the cheapest beer on site?
There's some seating inside and some more outside, but since you're under the Mancunian way you're not going to get rained on.
Apparently this place is run by the same people who started Oishi-Q - another great Japanese restaurant which we love, and it's nice to see Fukuu maintaining the same high standards. read more
