If you rent a boat and expect to dock it overnight or anywhere moderately wavy, expect to pay the $30/buoy replacement fee as your boat will rock and the clips break under minimal stress.

I had visitors who planned their trip for two months from Louisiana and I felt horrible we weren't going to be able to do the one thing they were most excited about: Getting out on Lake Hamilton! So we dropped into Greg Orr Marina unannounced - without a reservation - just days before a major holiday - hoping they might be able to save our day. They absolutely did! We rented the unit for four hours, and I was actually quite impressed with how nice the boats were. The best part tho? The staff were amazing! Everyone was very professional, not only in their demeanor, but in their dress, and were incredibly helpful in getting our ice chest and items down and onto the boat. The same occurred when we returned - but with a completely different crew checking us in. Whoever's training their staff there has done a great job and it was nice to see young people handling their job jobs so well. Overall, I can tell you that the price was actually pretty reasonable compared to other boat rentals I've experienced over the years. The unit was clean with a few little dings, but it's a rental, and pretty much the only thing that I could say negatively was there was a bit of prop damage, but as it was the last unit they had available we were just tickled to be able to get on the water. Regardless, I cannot recommend Greg Orr Marina enough. I've been involved with Swift and Open Water Rescue training through Kawasaki motor corporation for over 30 years and that is one of the best marinas I've ever visited. And I've visited more than a few.

In the end, we didn't end up needing the equipment, but he still gave me a full refund without hesitation. Excellent service, friendly staff, and a genuine commitment to taking care of customers. After bringing back the boat we rented before our time was even up the group I was with got accused of having a scratch on the side of the boat($498) Its like the boys working there knew where the scratch was the whole time because they went straight to it...A scratch that you could cover up with a sharpie! We got told to never come back to rent from this marina again by a bunch of teenagers who work there.. They were completely rude, back talking all of us and talking to us like we were 5 year olds! As much as we argued back with these kids, waited around for a cop to come, posting three reviews on their facebook page, making a personal status about this place you would think they should believe us that we didn't make a scratch on the boat..hell we didn't even have an anchor! When we were on the sandbar we had someone on the boat and someone hanging on to the ladder making sure we didn't let boat get away from us or damage it! We also got accused by the manager that we hooked on to some other boat when we were on the water which is not true! Do not rent from this marina unless you want to be accused of something that you didn't do!
