Parking was very limited at that time, so plan ahead if you're going early. Clearly, a lot of people know this is the spot for a serious workout. The stairs themselves are brutal in the best way possible. After about three rounds, my legs were completely done--but it's such an effective workout. This place really gets your cardio in fast, and you feel accomplished every time you finish a round. The views along the way make it even more worth it. We also came back later in the day around 5:30 PM. It starts to get a bit dark around that time, so that's something to keep in mind, but it's still a great experience and totally worth it. Overall, if you're looking for a challenging, fun, and effective outdoor workout, Hillcrest Park stairs deliver every time. Just be ready for sore legs and limited parking during peak hours.

It reminds me of those playgrounds wheels from the 80s but with more safety considerations without removing the fun. The play area is turf and surrounded by picnic tables and Adirondack chairs, with plenty of shade. The design is thoughtful and makes for a great place to spend an afternoon. The parking is free and right next to the play area. It feels secluded and somehow also right in the middle of everything. The only thing missing is a bathroom and while I understand that it's prevent homeless people from moving in, it does limit the amount of time that anyone can hang out here (especially with littles). Still a nice place to enjoy a coffee or picnic and let the kiddos play.

We went around 5:30 on a weekday and it wasn't too crowded, probably about 4 other kids there. Like I said, I really liked how many slides there were-- in the small kid area there were 4 (one being a double slide, so 5) and the bigger kid side had 2 taller slides. My kid had fun playing on both sides. They also have swings and a cool little gyro-spinning thing for the kids. We did visit the bathroom while there and it was pretty no frills, but several rolls of toilet paper and some hand soap outside, so that was a plus. This park also has a little grassy patch that people were playing frisbees in and possibly disc golf. All in all, this park was very nice!

I saw my Yelp friend Nadia has come here too, and a few other of my friends. The slides here are huge. There's a wall climbing thing, monkey bars, car, a teeter totter, something that spins, but it actually had caution tape on it today. There's a lot of fun equipment for the kids to play on. They have a lot of shaded seating and seating in the sun so you don't get cold. It was such a beautiful day. I had to take advantage of it and take baby girl out. We had fun :) The slide is really tall so I'm not gonna lie, I actually got a little butterflies looking down, but she had no problem. she went down that slide and had a blast. It wasn't busy today, but there were some kids for her to play with. We had a great time today enjoying the park, definitely check this park out with your kids, it's nice for them to get their energy out. There's plenty of grass area to kick a ball around and a one or two benches at the park's edge. There's also a picnic table or two near the center of the park, but it's a first come first serve. The park's across the street by St. Juliana's Catholic Church, so that happens to be walkable from this park. Street parking is available. Just be careful when you're stepping out of your vehicle - people drive by the corners VERY fast, with the huge blind spot coming down a slightly slopey road. Otherwise, would return to this park!

Beyond that, the park also features a zip line, splash pad, water slide, whiffle ball area, turf field where kids were playing soccer, shaded picnic tables, and clean bathrooms. The only downside is the layout--it can be tough to keep an eye on younger kids or even older, less adventurous ones unless you're willing to climb the structures yourself. Thankfully, my kids are pretty athletic and independent, but I did notice some kids getting scared or stuck and needing help. Wouldn't hurt to bring an extra pair of hands or eyes to help watch the kids. Don't forget to make a reservation online!

Bathrooms are clean enough and decently well stocked. Parents can grab a seat on one of many benches and there is good visibility as the kids run from area to area. There are baby and regular swings, and one big flat disk that you can lay down on. There are also spider web ropes for climbing. The softball fields are great for running the bases in between games, or flying a kite in the outfield. We tend to come in the evenings when it's cold so we haven't had a chance to use the splash pad but the structures in the area are still available for climbing. Solid choice for running off some kid energy.

It's quite spacious and there are just such a variety of activities for kids, from playing in a ball pit, to stacking random foam blocks, to playing in an area filled with random electronic entertainment (like mario kart and coloring fish), to actual play area with slides and padded obstacles. Even after seeing some of the lower reviews, I still think it is relatively clean considering the amount of traffic the weekend or evening may bring. I didn't really see anything that was broken or not working, and even when the mario kart system bugged out and was on a default screen, a staff member quickly did a reset and got it back into working order within 10 minutes or so. A consideration to be made is the fact that not all the parents are attentive with their kids, so there were definitely some kids that are just disrupting other kids playing or being obnoxious/rude. It's inevitable but also makes it feel like some parents literally just let their kids do whatever with little supervision, knowing that they are within the indoor playground. For example, my 1 year old was sitting on the padded carousel, and an older kid (at least 6 y.o.) jumped into the middle of the carousel and started dancing around wildly, which would've been fine until he almost fell on top of my much smaller child. It should also be noted that the area was marked for 2 y.o. or younger, but there's pretty much no enforcement of the space. Otherwise, it's a really cool spot for kids to burn a few hours and I still think it's remarkable that they fit so many different things to do in the same area.
