Nowadays they focus way too much on safety and take out anything that could be remotely dangerous.. I guess that's a sigh of relief for parents but kids just want to play. Now the park has been completely modified. It's much smaller and they have taken out all the best things, like the giant tires, and replaced them with swings and other boring stuff. The school does have a huge playground though, with a few soccer fields and baseball diamond. It's great for anyone that likes to organize their own games with their friends on the weekends.

We love the playground/park at Albert Lacombe School…read more It's easily one of the best in St. Albert with easy access to the city trails connecting Albert Lacombe to Sir George Simpson, the outdoor Grosvenor Pool, and even all the way down to the Sturgeon River and St. Albert Place (think best farmer's market ever!). The only downside is that the playground is on sand a little below ground level so it can be a bit of a swamp when snow melts in the Spring or if there is a big rain storm. But otherwise you've got soccer fields, baseball field, basketball hoops, swings, and a large play structure to keep the kiddos busy for hours! We love to bring a picnic and a blanket (well, Mom does anyway - ahhh, reading a book in the sunshine while the kids play).
