He has a no cavity club for kids and still hands out toothbrushes to his adult patients. I'm not sure if all dentist have switched to a mouth wash fluoride treatment, but if you can't stand those little trays they used "back in the day" - Dr. Soo can help you out here too. If this office was in Vancouver I'm fairly certain I'd never get in to see Dr. Soo - but luckily this gem of a dentist is hidden away in downtown Maple Ridge and I wouldn't have it any other way. He's worth the drive.

Our dentist referred all three of our children to Dr. Maplethorpe to see if they needed braces…read more According to her they all badly needed braces. We were looking at $40-$50 thousand. Changed to my old dentist back in North Vancouver (long drive but I trusted him). He gave our oldest who has obvious dental challenges a retainer which has been very effective. Then graduated her to Invisa-line braces for an extremely reasonable cost. This was in the last year she had these done and it was a fraction of the cost of the standard braces Dr. Maplethorpe was recommending and quoting. Our other two hae been photographed/journaled as having perfect jaw structure. This apparently is highly unusual. We were told that their jaw structure was so unusually perfect that it was not really thought to exist. That pretty much sums it up. We stopped seeing the dentist who routinely refers people to Dr. Maplethorpe. How unfortunate that professional in a position of trust would put children and their parents through the physical and financial stress just to line their own pockets. Shame.
