The menu was very limited, mainly consisting of plates of food which consisted of many items, I don't like this approach as it meant that if you were not too hungry, and just wanted a sandwich, you had to order a whole tray of food, including drinks, the food is priced reasonable, but considering you are unable to order the items individually, it does work out a little pricey if you're not interested in ordering the whole "brunch". I was told they would be unable to make individual items or modify toppings. The seating was limited, and due to being busy, I was placed in the outdoor seating area, which was in a rather uncomfortable garden chair, on a street in a residential area, so it wasn't the most welcoming area either. I went for the American brunch, which came to 22€. Again, I was disappointed with the quality of my food and drink, the orange juice tasted cheap and watered down, while the bread also was poor, even for gluten-free bread, it didn't hold together and fell apart in my hands while I tried to eat my sandwich, which you wouldn't expect from a specialist bakery. The staff seemed friendly enough, and with our basic knowledge of each other's languages, they seemed to try their best to help, with me using a Translate app, It wasn't the waitress's fault for the inability to modify dishes, she seemed to be trying to do her best to help when the kitchen wouldn't budge. The potatoes were greasy, and I didn't understand why they would include watermelon on the same plate. They all had the same dish so we figured preset menu for them. Mink ordered their Spaghetti ai frutti di mare. I'm not sure why but the owner exclusively took care of us. He also made it a point to bring a photo over of Jay Chow saying he's dined there 4-5 times in the last few years. Maybe that's why the Chinese tour group eats there? They must be able to make this dish with their eyes closed at this point with the daily Chinese tour groups dining there. Their Spaghetti ai frutti di mare was decent but didn't have as much seafood in the dish as other restaurants and the flavor was about average. The bread and EVOO offered was legit though! I loved it and I normally hardly ever eat the complimentary bread. Food is good overall and customer service felt extra. If we didn't get charged USD, wasn't getting bragged to about how much money he made off Jay Chow and wasn't greeted with a "Ni Hao" then the place is 4 stars. We wanted to take our guests to the Navigli district to show them the river, have a great meal and experience the nightlife after the sun went down. I emailed several restaurants along the Navigli a few days before to ask if they would be able to accommodate 28 people. For one reason or another, I couldn't get anyone to take us! But Mattia Bilotta at the Asso Di Fiori - Osteria dei Formaggi emailed me back right away and was happy to have us. He asked that we pick a few antipasti, a few primi Piatti, a few secondi piati and a few desserts so that they could be ready in advance. When we got off the subway, there was a lot of graffiti on the walls of the buildings and I was worried that I was in a bad part of town as we walked up to the restaurant. But once we reached the river from the subway, I felt better about it. And when I entered the restaurant to let them know that we were here, there was a huge stuffed cow in the middle of the dining room! I knew the kids would LOVE that, but I was not prepared for how much the adults would love it. Once we were seated, Mr. Bilotta brought out a small black board with the meals we agreed on in advance written on the menu. He also allowed us to order the specials of the day, which were written on a big black board on one wall of the restaurant. This meal was everyone's favorite of the trip, by far. Every dish that came out was more incredible than the last. Each person ordered what they wanted, but when the food came out, it was so delicious they were compelled to pass their dishes to people sitting around them saying, "you HAVE to try this!!" IP is what I call a mom & pop place where everyone knows each other, and we were brought here for lunch by our great friend who is a local and a regular patron. So please a, speaka italiano only. I, on the other hand didn't speak Italian and not a local so sure, I stood out like a sore thumb...haha!! The food here is outstanding at least for me because I like it simple and natural without the heavy heavy spices. This way, the chef cannot hide anything. Everything is super super fresh, like it's picked out from the backyard fresh!!!! I loved IP and surely will miss it until I visit Milan next time!!! Just look at my photos and drool, lol. So, please please don't go there and flood the place because there are probably less than 10 tables there, and the decor is outdated and not to most Yelpers' extravagant tastes!! So delicate and one of the best lasagna's I've ever had! The risotto with carrots and asparagus, creamy and perfectly al dente!
