After placing an order April 25th 2019 with Jimmy in the Wayne Store, He told us the items were in stock and we would take delivery the following Tuesday or Wed. 4 days after we paid cash we were told on 4/29 that he was wrong about the sectional being in stock and he would order the right pieces. After countless phone calls and several attempts to cancel the order we finally got the sectional on August 4th 2019. Throughout the months Jimmy said he would have the delivery guys remove our original 2 piece couch to the front lawn (because I had back surgery and could not do it myself), when the delivery men came they asked for more money and Jimmy denied he said that. I feel he made me wait so long because he was getting either used or defective pieces together to send to me. I really feel betrayed by what happened. I took a chance on your company and Jimmy totally destroyed the image of your brand. The wedge and console were not right from the beginning and the rest started falling apart within the week. Throughout the years I have made many phone calls trying to get it fixed. I even tried calling Pilar at the manufacturer's headquarters. Jimmy kept telling me the repair guys were going to come out, but they never showed up. I work from home, so there was no way for me to miss them if they showed up. We paid $2,500.00 in cash with the Warranty. I am wondering if Jimmy even reported this transaction to the main company or did he pocket the money for himself At this point I believe the easiest thing to do would be to just refund my money and we can give you back the sectional. I spoke with Vicar at the Store in Wayne, NJ. on April 24th, 2021 it is now June 9th, 2021 and now Vicar doesn't call back either. He said to send pictures in Image0 - Leg rest does not come up all the way and the front is damaged of left arm lounger Image1 - The wedge never came together and the backs are loose, if you push against the wall to try to close it up, the other chairs can't recline. DO NOT GO THERE!!! I bought a sectional and a dining table and both are falling apart. They screwed up my order and didn't deliver all the chairs for my table pre Covid (Early February). Then when Covid came (March) they shut down for obvious reasons but when they opened back up in May I got a million excuses of when I'd get the rest of my chairs & why they don't have it. Every month, they told me to wait another month! By July they told me August and I was fed up. At that point I felt like August I would be told September. I asked for a discount due to the inconvenience & was yelled at by some guy. I just don't understand how you can be upset with a customer who's upset about not having chairs for their family to sit on FOR MONTHS......BECAUSE THEY MESSED UP THE DELIVERY PRE-COVID!!! We purchased two custom built recliners from Lazy Boy and have had nothing but headaches. The quality is not what it once was, you're better off not "investing" your money in this furniture. We've been waiting almost a year for the chairs to be serviced, the cushions are shot. This evening a tech showed up from a company based out of Florida, and the tech was clearly overwhelmed. Claiming he didn't have the tools, parts or training to make the repairs. My recommendation to anyone is to bypass Lazy Boy, it's not what it used to be. read more

DO NOT EVER, IN YOUR LIFE, GRACE THEIR PARKING LOT. THEY ARE THIEVES, CHARLATANS, LIARS, AND CRIMINALS OF THE LOWEST CLASS. THEY STOLE MY MONEY AND LIED ABOUT IT. I stopped here because they had furniture under a tent. I liked a piece and thought why not get everything. I told the saleswoman I had $1000 to spend and I decided on three items--the entertainment unit, a dresser w/o the mirror and a chest. This process took about an hour. While there I also looked at beds and told her I would be back next week for a frame. During the process the 'manager' negotiated prices with me. I paid at 1130am and left. On my way I saw an outlet and decided to stop there. I was in the outlet for 20minutes when I realized I could get everything I needed for my apartment with the $1000! I got back to this place at promptly 12 noon. I informed the saleswoman that I wanted a refund. She promptly tells me that I signed a contract and she 'would have to see.' No worries, I got on my phone to call my bank because I had taken no delivery of anything and it was my money! She yells at me that she is 'calling her manager to get the refund.' I look at her and point to the manager and say what about him? She tells me she has to call the owner. Ten minutes later she hands me back my receipt with the word 'VOID' written on it! What a barrel of laughs she was. I look at her and say "Who do you think you are dealing with and insulting? I can write this. You charged my card on a Smart System. Get the transaction number on this receipt and refund my money." The so called manager then comes over. He tells me that he doesn't know how to do it and I say well no worries, my bank will take care of it and so will the BBB (I am filing that next, I'll tell you why in a bit). He calls the owner and they ask me "If we can deliver today, will you take it?" Hell no! So the 'owner' directs him how to do the refund and I get a refund receipt. This was a Saturday. On Monday the refund is there but guess what follows it? ANOTHER CHARGE FOR $1000. This store is a front for something nefarious. All the 'workers' were speaking another language while they were so mad at me and pretended to know nothing. It galls when people do that because they are united in the total dishonesty in what they are doing. They could have at least some honor among their thievery. Alas, they are bottom feeder criminals, the worst kind. The five star reviews here are for their friends and family. Supposedly they couldn't deliver for days but when I want my money back they can deliver same day. The gall and the nerve. I called back about them charging me again and the same 'I am stupid' line happens. What a joke and I know that trying to ascertain my money will be a process. So much bad that I am not sure where to start. My boyfriend bought a bedroom set and was delivered something completely different, missing pieces and smaller dresser. Looking at his recopts there was also a change In charges (added charges and tax) not discussed. To add insult to injury, the people who delivered and put together the bed showed up during a pandemic with no masks, and damaged it while doing so! They put 8 screws thru the wood accepted their very generous tip and never said a word! They overcharged pulled a bait and switch And damaged his order. I don't know why anyone would give this store a bad review, as my experience was fantastic. I went to the Furniture and Mattress Gallery for the first time back in May 2016. I just moved to Wayne, and was looking for furniture for my office, and a new mattress. I had a major restriction on what I could buy, as both the office and the bedroom were upstairs, and the stairs were extremely narrow. I stopped into the store as I had driven past it so many times before, and now needed both furniture AND a mattress, so obviously the name captured my attention. As soon as I walked in, I was welcomed warmly (I think her name was Alexis..). I expressed I was on a budget, and needed narrow furniture. Immediately she showed me the floor, and explained to her me my options for sofas for the office. I didn't feel rushed, and she even encouraged me to go to a few other stores in the area, to get an idea of what I needed, and she could see if see could find something similar. The next weekend I was back, and bought a queen mattress, desk, and sofa. I was skeptical when I ordered, as I was convinced they wouldn't be able to fit the sofa, desk, and mattress upstairs. However, the following week, two men delivered everything to me (on time). I watched as they magically maneuvered all the boxes upstairs, and assembled it all! It all fit nicely, and the furniture is still holding up incredibly well after 8 months. So, here I am, to offer my review: We have bought multiple rooms of furniture from this store -- specifically from "Jennifer." Our experience has always been fantastic. Jen takes hours of her time to sort through different catalogs searching for exactly what we requested. She works with your budget and timeline. She emails suggestions and returns phone calls promptly. We now ALWAYS start our furniture search with Jen -- and in the event she cannot find what we're looking for, she's always honest and upfront. She also is a great personality -- so if you're sitting in a furniture store trying to find the perfect couch, its nice to have the company of a fun person! The store itself has a decent selection on the floor of items to look at "in-person," which is great, but they also have multitudes of resources to order what you would like from different vendors. As a picky shopper, this has been key. We have had excellent experiences with the furniture delivery. "Tony" is highly skilled -- a couch did not fit in our basement (oops!) and he took the entire couch apart and reupholstered it. It looks like he never took it apart! They guys were friendly, polite, and hardworking. They bring the furniture in the house and set it up exactly as you requested. They have always been on time. We had a wonderful experience at The Furniture and Mattress Gallery in Wayne. After a long day of shopping the big box stores on Rt. 46, we wearily decided to go in as our last stop. Jimmy A. was amazing. We were looking for a bedroom set and informal/casual dining room furniture. Despite a modest budget, he spent 1.5 hours with us, patiently showing us different options. After we made our decision, we noticed there was a fabulously priced sofa and loveseat that we loved, and with the other prices so reasonable, we added to our order. I ordered a couch from them this past Sunday and was told I was going to receive my couch the following Thursday/Friday. I was told that Sunday, that on Wednesday I will receive a phone call to confirm the delivery time. Wednesday came and I did not receive a phone call. When I checked the confirmation receipt, the sales representative, Javier, put the incorrect telephone number for BOTH of my numbers - all he was worried about was the sale. My boyfriend and I called on Thursday morning to confirm if we will still receive our couch that day since we realized our contact information was wrong. Would have been 5 stars, except that the furniture did not arrive on the scheduled day. I know it wasn't their fault because the vendor did not send them the furniture, but I only found out an hour and a half before scheduled delivery time. They made arrangements to have it delivered the next day at a convenient time for me, so that I wouldn't have to take a day off from work. That being said, we were able to furnish 2 rooms (master bedroom, including mattress and family room) at a lower price than 1 room from the vendor. We absolutely love the furniture. The 2 delivery/installers were very courteous and quick and did a pretty good job of cleaning up after themselves. They asked where I wanted each piece to be placed, and would have moved it around if I had asked. I will recommend this to any one of my family friends because the furniture is good quality furniture from top manufacturers, just at an awesome price. read more

Bought an Ashley Furniture brand sofa, loveseat and coffee table June, 2018. In December of 2018, we decided to contact The Furniture & Mattress Gallery because the fabric was looking extremely worn after only 4 or 5 months. We were assured by our salesman Jose that buying from them is a safe purchase because they stand by everything they sell. He said if the cushion gets flattened, just give him a call and he'll send us another one no charge. He said if one of my animals punctures the furniture, no problem. Kids damage it, no problem. The material is all pilled looking. Everywhere you sit, the fabric has little balls of fabric hanging off like a very worn sweater that's been washed and worn too long. We sent photos which were hard to show the extent of the damage, but you can clearly see. I spent an entire month trying to get them to respond to me. We just kept getting the runaround. We were told Jimmy was taking over. Repeatedly, we were told to expect a call from Jimmy. We never got the calls. Only a couple of my emails were answered. The emails were not giving us any resolution, but telling us he's trying to get in touch with the sales rep. Finally, after we threatened to contact the Better Business Bureau, Jimmy said the rep called him at 11:30 PM the night before (doubt that). We were told that what we are experiencing is normal wear and tear on a fabric couch. We have owned many pieces of furniture in our lives and this is not normal wear and tear. This company lied to us and said they stood behind their products. They said they can't do anything to help us because like us, they purchased the furniture from Ashley furniture. read more

Stay Far Far Away! Unfortunately there is no option to give this store "0" stars! Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place. They smile, make you think you are dealing with a reputable business and LIE, IGNORE and CHEAT you out of your merchandise. We were sold damaged furniture. For the past 8 months we have been trying to get replacement pieces for our damaged furniture. The constant revolving door of employees is frustrating. Every time I call which is once a week I speak to someone new with the promise of follow up. This of course never happens. It has become a "game " for me to call weekly. It pains me to even give this atrocity one star. I went in about a year and a half ago with my mom to find a new mattress and bed set, this is where my huge mistake started. What I THOUGHT was a good deal, turned out to be a horrible deal in the end. My fault for not doing my research clearly. Here is the worst part though... the sales person talked me into doing a payment plan where I would pay every month and the furniture would be mine. After speaking to my mom we both thought the way it was explained was shady, so the manager came over and explained it a little better, but still something was off and these people seemed like scam artists. After going back and forth for an hour I decided to go with it and set up the arrangements. After successfully paying every month, it came time for my final payment. Exciting right? Well it's now a year and a half later, and I just received a call from a collections agency saying I owe over $2,000. First of all the total of my bed frame and mattress was about $1,300 and I paid every month so I have no idea how this is possible. These people are absolute scam artists, do not listen to a word they tell you because you are going to be screwed in the end. I give them credit for trying to find something similar to what I wanted but it was not to my likings so I asked for the money back. From here, things took a different turn and the behavior of the store representative changed completely. First, they were unable to process the refund in the store. My fiancé and I and visited The Furniture & Mattress Gallery of Wayne in January of this year. We found a sectional by Jackson Catnapper that we liked and left the store to research the manufacturer and the store. Both companies had horrific reviews. We returned to the store and addressed the reviews with Jennifer and Jimmy. They assured as the reviews were written by over dramatic customers and surrounding competitors. With some hesitation, we moved forward with the purchase in early February. Jennifer and Jimmy informed us our delivery window was 4-6 weeks. We ran into the first bump in the road 3 weeks after the order was placed. After not hearing any updates from the store, my fiancé called to inquire about the status of the delivery. At this time, Jennifer informed us the manufacturer was out of fabric and this would delay the delivery. The second bump in the road came at week 6 when we should have already had the couch. The store claimed the custom sleeper was installed incorrectly and they would need to order new parts. At week 8 we still had no couch and the store had a new set of excuses. They committed to delivering on many dates/times but never showed up. At week 12 the couch finally delivered to our house and the sleeper did not function properly. The delivery attendant was pointed out the dysfunction before brining it into our home. He claimed Jennifer and Jimmy were aware of the issue but instructed him to deliver the couch anyway. He also shared that this is typical of the store to do. We refused the delivery at this time so the couch could yet again be fixed. At week 15 the couch returned to our home fixed of the original issue but now with cushions that did not fit properly. At week 18 the new cushions arrived. At each juncture arranging delivery was a nightmare. Jennifer and Jimmy could not commit to a date/time. They lied about their communication with one another and often blamed each other the delivery issues. They promised compensation for our trouble and absolutely horrendous experience. That was also a lie, they will not take any of our calls to discuss/issue proper compensation. They are thieves and we are working with a lawyer to sue them. read more

Told me my furniture was coming on the day I requested and then called me to say I never said that date and it wasn't coming until the next day when my invoice even said the day I requested. No one is ever on the same page in that store and they all speak a different language and seem like they are strangers to one another. The experience here was awful. I went in for twin sized bunk beds. Instead, 3 weeks later (even tho they said it'll take 3 days)I got full sized. When I called the store, I was told "this is what I picked out" , even tho I had a hand written quote for the right beds. There was no ownership of her mistake whatsoever. Instead of apologizing, she yes'd me. This isn't the disappointing part. What was so frustrating was the lack of communication and professionalism. I was told lie after lie, no straight answer and no phone calls back. I was strung along rearranging my work schedule 3 times because of their empty promises to deliver. I don't understand any of the one star reviews. They must be fake. Last year, my wife and I found the perfect table for our family room. Last week, we returned and purchased a sofa bed. The staff is friendly and accommodating. We got a great price, as they explained that they carry the same products as the nearby stores (e.g., Raymour & Flanigan, Ashley's, Macy's, etc.) but without the overhead from commission. Our sofa bed was in stock, and we received it in perfect condition the next day. We are completely satisfied and know where to go the next tine we need a new piece of furniture. read more

Giving this place 1 star is 1 star too many. Worst sales experience I have ever experienced in my life. We ordered a sectional that they promised us within x amount of time. When x amount of time passed and we didn't have the sectional, I had to practically stalk the owner, Jamal, aka, Jimmy b/c he never got back to me. He gave excuse after excuse at to why we didn't have the sectional in the time promised, ranging from his holiday of Ramadan, to miscommunication with the shipment comanies, etc. Ultimately, he ended up informing us he wouldn't be able to get us the sectional At all! When we then tried to cancel the end tables that we ordered specifically to go with the sectional he couldn't get us, he refused to let us cancel the end tables and tried to deliver them anyways! I refused the items when they were brought to my house and they were brought back to the store, but Jimmy still refused to refund us. We ended up having to go to the store to pick up the end tables that we didn't want just for the sake of washing our hands of these people and not wanting the hassle of having to deal with them in court. Bought a Klaussner Darius Sectional in January of 2013, delivered February .In a few months we noticed three seat cushions sinking. We called store and they referred us to MFS furniture protection insurance we also purchased. Tom a furniture repairman contracted with Klaussner came to inspect/repair . Tom was thorough and honest, he told me the piece was defective and we would be getting a whole new sectional. He showed me pics of the bottom causing the caving in of the seats, it was not made properly, this was in November 2013. Tom Left and I waited to be notified by someone, no one ever called regarding the new piece of furniture. Months went by and I was directed to Churchill Furniture in Hawthorne NJ, who I learned was the company who was going to be receiving the new sectional. I made contact with Churchill Furniture on or about Dec of 2013 and was told the new sectional was on order coming from CHINA, not North Carolina as we were told, I later was told by a store rep that this was news to the Furniture Gallery also, shame on Klaussner for touting MADE IN THE USA, as their website boasts, I learned that the darius sectional we bought falls under their INTERNATIONAL division. The rep from Churchill advised me it would be coming in Jan of 2014. January came and went, no call. I called Churchill and was told it should be in February, no call in February, I call again, and I am told to call back in March when it should be in. I call back in March this year and was told It was coming from China and should be in sometime in April. I called the store back again last week, a rep promised to help us, we also contacted Klaussner Customer Affairs who had their person who handles claims called me to help. Lets see if they come through. I will let you know. We just want our money back, we spent almost $3000.00 on this sectional and insurance.
