This was the 5th furniture store I visited in a month and I was pleasantly surprised when the sales associate "Wendy" understood the need to look around without her hovering, but she was paying attention and available to answer questions as soon as I was ready. She was very helpful with pricing, sales, and availability information. She made the process easy and was super pleasant. I really wanted the sectional seating before Christmas and she was able to make that happen. Delivery fee is excessive so I rented a trailer and picked it up myself. I recently visited the Bell Fork location and, at the time, I was having medical issues. I was met by Christine, who immediately realized this. Nothing life threatening and after a short explanation, I was asked, "how can I help". For the next hour or so, she ran back and forth allowing me to rest in place. When you go to a furniture store you have to accept the used car vulture mentality and experience, the employees work on commission. However, I was pleasantly surprised with my last two trips. The customer rep introduced herself but didn't hover around me she knew what to ask, made some suggestions, and knew when to disappear do I could make my selections. I drive past this place and always forget that's its here. They have a huge assortment of items not just standard furniture but appliances and electronics. Please don't sell yourself short and overlook their clearance areas in the far back. I bought a real leather sofa , two coffee tables, two two end stands and a 75 inch television for just under 2700.00. I will say their delivery fee of 200.00 is a bit ridiculous but you can always rent a truck at home depot for 30.00 and move it yourself. I will be going back for an all black finger print resistance fridge and ceramic range. If your not willing to drive out of town looking for furniture put this place in your line up. read more

I bought a new bed frame here with my husband and on the first night it broke completely so we called had them come "fix" it they told me that it's never happened before that a bed would break like that. well after they fixed it, it broke AGAIN in the same way and they have put me off and keep telling me that they'll give me a refund but i need to talk to someone else and we've just had to fight with them constantly to get this fixed and they still have yet to have someone call me back and give me my money for this piece of shit bed. We have been buying furniture here since 2003 when we got stationed here and bought our first house. And ironically, we've used the same salesperson the entire time--you cannot go wrong with Jon (I'm not sure if there's another Jon there but he's English). He's the nicest, most helpful, least pushy salesperson ever and we're so glad he's been there each and every time. In fact, on our most recent visit last week, we hadn't been to the store in about three or four years (due to a PCS move out of state) but he saw us walking in the parking lot, recognized us, and postponed his errand to come in and help us. We have bought everything from a washer and dryer to a garbage disposal to a dining room set to bedroom sets to living room sets... We've had deliveries, store financing, warranty issues, returns, and exchanges--all handled wonderfully by all of the staff. They have a huge assortment of items in the showroom--and unfortunately for us, we can't go "just to look" because we always end up buying something...so now we ONLY go when we definitively need something. Don't waste your money on a Stearns and Foster mattress. I spent $1500 on a Stearns and Foster mattress I thought with the last 10 years. It was firm when I bought it so firm I needed to get a mattress topper which was OK with me. A little over a year later it would sink 3 to 4 inches when I would lie on it. I weigh 160 pounds So it's not like my weight should've impacted the mattress greatly. I even moved to the other side and the same thing happened within months. Store associates came out but the only thing they said the warranty would cover would be if it had a dip in inches without anyone lying on it. So unless you have $1500 to waste on a mattress that's not going to last you a little over a year not to mention chiropractic and doctor visits to adjust your spine neck back shoulders and hips due to the poor support don't waste your money. I couldn't believe a high end furniture store would sell crap. I've had $200 mattresses that lasted longer. If you don't believe me read the reviews on Stearns and Foster I wish I had I wouldn't be out $1500 plus still need to go buy another mattress. read more

I went there 5 months ago looking for a dresser. They said the one I picked would be delivered in July. With the pandemic and al I thought would be ok. July came nothing, agost came nothing. I called the girl that sold it to me and she said there are back order from January. Well she didn't say that before. She had no idea when it would come and unfortunately she wouldn't be able to help me because she was sick from covid, second time. In fact they couldn't even have their weekly meeting because everyone that was supposed to be in that meeting was sick. I said want a refund and cancel my order she said i would have to go to the store to present my receipt and card. I did i had my mask on. No one had mask in there. No one !! The manager that spoke to me said they were having a lot of problems because of covid and I was thinking "this man is talking very close to me". I went there Tuesday and Wednesday I woke up congested and everything went down from there I was positive for delta I am fully vaccinated so symptoms were mild I had everything but fever. I still have problems to breath and everything physical that I do tired me out but my doctor said I am ok and I should recover completely in 2 months. I have no doubt in my mind was from that place. I give just one star for The disregard for people's life. That's why we are on this mess. They could ask the costumers to wear mask. THEY could wear mask. they don't care. Today we casually went into look at furniture. We were greeted by a gentleman named Joe. Joe wasn't super aggressive and actually listened to our needs and helped us find what we we were looking for. While most sales people are commission, Joe did not come across that way...there was multiple times Joe suggested different options because it benefited us. We had an absolute amazing experience and would recommend this store to any friends and family. Great prices and excellent top notch customer service set them apart from other stores. These ppl have had my sectional almost a month & 1/2 and were supposed to be repairing it. They have attempted to return on 4 or 5 occasions UNREPAIRED. While I'm sure they go home and sit on their furniture, I have been left almost a month & 1/2 sitting on the floor. I have spoken to Steve and another store manager whose name starts with R at the Wilmington area store and they haven't followed up with the service department or returned phone calls to me as they said they would. I have spoken with Jessica at the Jacksonville store where repairs are made and she was extremely rude. She also claimed she repaired my sectional and even went as far as to call me a liar. I think I would know my furniture better than her. She spoke in completely disrespectful tone and clearly feels her job is secure no matter how she treats customers because according to her, she's been the service department mgr for the last 10 years. These ppl are completely incompetent and furniture fair's reviews solidify such. I still don't have my sectional nor has it been replaced. They were suppose yo call me yesterday with an update but guess what......I haven't heard from them. I Purchased a warranty that was supposed to be good for 5 years, and although it's not even been 1/2 of that time period, Jessica made it clear that they didn't even hv to do what they didn't do because my warranty is up, which is a lie. This company does not stant behind their word & in this world, if you don't have your word, you have nothing. I have never been so frustrated as a customer, I purchased furniture over 7 weeks ago. I was told my furniture would be in by the end of the month so approximately 3 weeks. 4 weeks later, no one knows when my furniture will be in. The rep who sold me the furniture doesn't call to give us updates. Apparently, they just have random shipments of furniture arriving to the store and they won't know if the furniture is there until it shows up. That's sounds ridiculous. He made my experience quick and painless, and financed me with nearly nothing down! Bought a living set from Jacksonville Hwy 24 location. The assistance manager helped us. Was very specific about order, items and discounted amounts. Was told the Table Ottoman we wanted would have to be special ordered and would take about 4 weeks. It has been almost 3 months and FF has delivered the wrong ottoman not once, twice, but three times. Today, the store manager calls and tells me they have located the proper ottoman, but it will be 6-8 weeks special order. Here we go again and it will an additional $179.00. Yesterday my husband and I went , again, to Furniture Fair on Bell Fork to look at furniture. The previous time we went we encountered men talking amongst themselves ...and one fella coming and asking us what we were looking for. Within 5 minutes he was gone back to talking to his fellow employees and never returned. We did encounter a nice woman saleslady who helped us later on. Men do not like these jobs it appears and the women , as usual , do a better job! Ok that said............. My husband and I went again yesterday. Now, we went down the street to buy two chairs and a mattress at the other , been there forever,furniture store . But after purchasing the other items , my husband wanted another couch/loveseat. We went back. The gentleman that ignored us the first time we visited came and stayed with us the whole time to assist us. Which was a nice surprise. We looked at all kinds of loveseats and found one after about an hour . The loveseat was a fold out bed also. It was also pretty steep for a loveseat. But we bought it and it was delivered today. I would give this place NO stars. I have never in my life been so INSULTED as a customer in all my life. We bought the furniture in February, we made our first payment in March, everything was fine. Then When we paid in April there was a miscalculation in our accounts and there was not enough money in the bank so the electronic check bounced. They DID NOT make us call or anything until later. had we have known we could have fixed it the next day! BUT NO! Instead they call the DA and filed a CRIMINAL suit against us! WTF?! So when we FINALLY find out we paid them on May 15th on that SAME day, they filed the complaint against us. When my husband called to tell them they were paid, the man on the other end said to him and I kid you not, " are you sure that one is not going to bounce too?" ARE YOU KIDDING ME? is this the way these people treat their customers? So they are forcing us to go to court on the 15th of June even though we paid them. Seriously? I have known my husband for 15 years, and I have only seen him bounce a check ONCE and he then as well as now fixed it immediately. These people at this store did not take the time to help us they just automatically assumed that a 175.00 is worth smearing someone's good name and credit because they could not take the time to call and even when it was fixed they STILL want to take a person to court. God forbid you be late in this place they will hunt you down like a dog. Every time I TRY to call to ask what is going on, if they are stopping this stupid court thing, they gave me the run around, "Oh Chuck is not here" or "chuck won't be back until tomorrow" NEVER once did they try to talk to us. I guess I'll start from the beginning. Two years ago while building our house we ordered a refrigerator, washer and dryer from the Jacksonville location on Bellfork Rd. The appliances were to be installed before final inspection and were not. The day we moved in was Black Friday and still NO appliances. We have a baby and NEEDED our refrigerator! After several calls they agreed to deliver to us that day. Unfortunately when they got here they brought the wrong fridge, washer and dryer, it was all cheap crap that we did not order. I called the manager AGAIN and she said even though we placed an order for appliances that were not in the store many weeks prior they somehow dropped the ball and never actually placed the order. We ended up settling for a refrigerator that they had as a Black Friday deal that was actually more than the one we originally ordered so we were somewhat happy with how it was handled. Now a few years later we gave them one more chance and decided to order a memory foam mattress and king size bedroom set. It has been 8 + weeks and nothing has been delivered yet. We were estimated 20 days for delivery! We were told it would be delivered one day between 12-4. They did not show! It disgusts me to know that we spent over 5 grand on this bedroom set through furniture fair. I will never in a million years recommend this company for anything! If i could give this company a zero i would, i bought a couch from this place a year ago, cushion went flat in less the 6 mths. Now mind u i bought a protection plan as well. Long an be hold i called them in Nov 2017 to replace the the cushions. Its june and all they have done is giving me the run around. They stated the cushion are coming from china. They might as well b from Mars , cause here i am june my cushion according to there warehouse ppl they had to reorder, they lost the first request. I purchased merchandise, and was charged $149 for a 30 mile delivery. The truck shows up, and the part of the merchandise is broken. No one in the store made the effort to check it prior to loading and delivering. Next, I'm required to take a half day of leave from work due to their negligence, which is an even greater cost to me. Due to my wishing to have what I paid for in a timely manner, and not having to wait until the next weekend, I must pick up the merchandise they charged me delivery for, without any compensation. I highly suggest one stays away from this store, unless you have money to literally throw away. read more

Saturday Sept 15, 2012, I walked through the entire store with my mother & daughter. We weaved through every room looking over all the merchandise. We passed numerous sales people, walked passed a few who were standing back in the tv section watching the football games. NOT ONCE did a sales associate approach to ask if we needed help or ask what we were looking for. (To add, the store was not busy whatsoever. May have been one other couple in store if that.)) Needless to say, I am not impressed one bit with their service or their merchandise. It's very low grade, at first glance it has the appearance of "pressed board". First they said they would be here on a Thursday, never called and never showed up. They came the next day but only brought some of our living room suite. We have two kids and family coming and going for the holidays and only have a loveseat. My husband called again to check on our sofa and they said it wouldn't be here until 12/20. In my adult life, the only place that I have ever purchased furniture has been Furniture Fair on Bell Fork. Every time that I have purchased furniture, I have also purchased the extended protection plan. Over the years, my purchases have been claimed by ex wives, broken due to my own negligence in executing military orders, damage to the finish due to miscellaneous incidents, etc. I never contacted Furniture Fair due to any of these losses. On this specific occasion, I purchased a bedroom set a little more than a year ago. The furniture successfully survived a military PCS with limited damage to the finish, but this week, while moving it 6 inches to access a power outlet, part of the headboard broke which supports the side rails. I immediately found my receipt and contacted Furniture Fair. To my surprise, the extended protection plan does NOT cover that. "The Extended Protection Plan only covers accidental damage to the finish," stated the furniture service department. "Like if your spouse leaves perfume on the dresser and it leaks. Then when you wipe it up, there is a mark from the perfume." Imagine my surprise to learn that the hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars that I have spent on extended protection plans has been a waste. The furniture service department did suggest a local furniture repair service that I could pay for. Of course, I'm military like most of the customers in Jacksonville, NC so I no longer live in the area. When I do return to Jacksonville, I have no intention of returning to Furniture Fair due to the overwhelming disappointment I have experienced from this unjust service. read more
