Our order isn't even complete and I have to give them 5-stars! After our horrendous experience with the Ashley Furniture store in Silverdale (feel free to read that reward -- buyer BEWARE), hubby and I were driving up to a boat gig in Anacortes and took the "scenic" way around Oak Harbor (meaning, not on Hwy 20). We happened to be stopped at the light by NAS Whidbey and I chanced to look over and said "Hey, Furniture World!" We had recently visited the Furniture World in Bremerton but weren't able to find any living room set that slammed our doors, so I was reluctant to go in when my husband suggested it. Now, I'm SO glad we did. We met Shawn, who was super helpful and gave us the layout of the store and then let us look around. When he came to check on us, I shared with him the debacle we had with Ashley and he asked which set we had been looking at. Fortunately I had taken a picture of it at the time and was able to give him the name... ..and as it turned out, he had the set RIGHT THERE in the showroom. Virtually brand-spanking new! He didn't have the chair or the ottoman there, but was able to find out that there were chairs in the distribution center that could be delivered to the Bremerton store (closer to us) by December 5th, and the ottoman would likely be available sometime around Jan 6-11. And the sofa and loveseat...he offered to let us buy the set right there off the floor! His team meticulously plastic wrapped the furniture and had it ready for us when we came through the next day on our way home. We were able to get one piece in our SUV and the "boys" (his helpers) were able to help my husband load the other piece on the roof! Shawn clearly understands customer service, so much that we would likely consider driving to Oak Harbor again (quite a bit out of our way and a ferry ride to boot) if we are in search of furniture. I have to write this review now, even though we haven't received the chair or ottoman yet. I went to Furniture World NW near the base. I called ahead because you guys know taking children anywhere right now is a nightmare. I called ahead to make sure I could buy a twin box spring from them (checking if they had some in stock). The lady helping me said yes- they would have it brought from their Burlington store- I just had to come in and pay for it. Perfect- no problem. I go in and told her the low profile box spring was perfect for my toddler. I told her the story about how I bought the standard metal twin frame and didn't realize it needed more support for the mattress hence why I need a box spring. She then tells me they have wooden slats that will fit in the metal frame I have. Even better - they are available to take home same day. I asked her specifically if they would fit my metal frame and she said yes. I purchased the wooden slats. That was 2 days ago. Fast forward to today and I go to put them in. They do not fit. Just by a tiny bit they do not fit. I also see in the instructions these wooden slats were meant to be screwed into a wooden bed frame complete with head and foot board. I call them back. They will not take them back because of Covid and recommended I take them in to Home Depot to cut them to fit.... I told them I wouldn't have bought them if they didn't tell me it would work. I would have just bought the bed spring.... They said sorry. That's it. And now- they don't have box springs. I now have $50 wooden slats I can't use unless I cut them to fit. The sales lady was nice and the guy I talked to was nice; however, I cannot understand how a business owner would not want to make this situation right. read more

Went to this location and decided on a mattress and bed frame. That's when we heard their employee say a multitude of terrible things. It was everything from, "anyone that supports Trump should just die, they are all dead to me. They should lose all of their rights, they are complete idiots" this is just a small fraction of what their employee said. The employee then made eye contact with me. I asked, "what did you say". The response was, "I was just stating my opinion, probably shouldn't do it here." Regardless of your political affiliation I would hope that I would be able to buy a mattress without hearing anything political. Will not be shopping here again. Statistically speaking they are either speaking about me or my friends, and I find it terrible. read more

So.....had very high expectations to throw my savings up to them....here's my experience today: Show up, walk in. No greeting, fine the three people working had customers. 20 mins after those customers left and had walked the entire store with a zero " hey! What can I help you with?" A women rushes past me, asked what she can do for me as she's walking away. I tell her I would love help. I tell her I emailed and have cash in hand to buy, but asked about financing. She was insanely honest. Respect. But than she loudly says to a stay at home mom with no own income : " if that's all you got approved for...." I replied to her it was INSANELY RUDE, for her to say that so loudly. It was. It was very rude. I asked, she didn't have to push away a potential willing customer. I grew up in customer service, I was so embarrassed. But thanks to her! I saved $900 not buying from them. So, thanks to that lady having such a bad day.... had to share. Shawn was super helpful and friendly. I found the furniture store on yelp when driving around Oak Harbor. Browsing the store in person I found an awesome queen sized bed with padded headboard that was exactly what I was looking for in my airbnb rental in Freeland. Shawn ordered the color I wanted and called me when it came in. I opted to pick it up in person and he helped load it into my car; I put it together easily by myself at the house. I have never owned a new couch before and wanted to get a sectional. I heard from friends that Furniture World was the best place and they were right. Adam did an outstanding job making sure I was getting what I wanted going so far as showing me a chair by the same manufacture that would have been like what I was getting. I ordered my sectional and it was delivered in the time that they said it would. The delivery was on time and the guys James and Lance did an excellent job. My house has a ramp that could have caused difficulties, but they were able to make it work by going through my garage. They were professional and polite and set it up quickly for me. I will definitely be going there again in the future for bedroom furniture, and highly recommend then to anyone on all of Whidbey Island. read more

I have purchased a good deal of furniture here. One couch, one love seat, and a coffee table and end tables set. Regarding the quality of the furniture: My love seat was a repaired seat, and it was on clearance about 3 years ago. It wasn't repaired all that well and the bottom fell apart the first time we moved it from it's original place in the living room. The wood on the bottom snapped in half. Now it has no legs and is awkwardly low, but at least it's still comfortable. Well worth the exceedingly low price they asked for it. The sofa is perfect. We've had it for around 2 years, and it is *mint*... Even with my toddler, clumsy friends, and all of the other children I've had in my home over the years. I'm pretty sure I'll be changing my grandkids' diapers on that sofa one day. It easily survived a move to another apartment, and will easily survive my upcoming move as well. We got the cheapest coffee table they had, and the fact that it is still standing after the abuse we put it through is nothing shy of astounding. Sure, it looks awful now, but it's all been due to my aforementioned toddler and my own neglect. We had to tighten one screw on it after 3 years of ownership. The side tables aren't nearly as abused, and still look great. Service: Love them! Never pressured to buy something outside of my budget, which is a big deal with furniture stores. They're typically way too pushy. Delivery: All products delivered on time as promised. Had a minor issue with the sofa (they accidentally ordered a love seat and delivered that instead!) but they gave me the show room model. Now, that might not sound like a good thing to most of you, but it was the show room model up on the pedestal in the sofa show room, and it wasn't like people were sitting on it on a daily basis. I will happily go to them to replace my busted love seat. Only this time I think I'll skip the repaired clearance items. ;) read more

We just bought our new king size bed. We walked in explained what we were looking for and the manager showed us where everything was. They gave us space and didn't pressure us at all. Of course this was the first place we started looking so we told them we were going to check out the NEX just to compare. The next was WAY more expensive and the quality was better. The only thing that wasn't perfect is the delivery. We had to wait a few days- not long but we had just wish they offered same day delivery. Also our frame and head board are taking 2-3 weeks for delivery. No big deal, just wish it was sooner. Over all, great service and great price. We are very happy with our new bed! read more

I ordered a couch through them and was told that I was getting a delivered couch. I told them I needed all the help I could get due to my husband being gone and I couldn't do it alone. I was not told about the two different types of deliveries they offer. When dropped off it was left in my living room still in a box and I was told I needed to sign off for it. I hadn't even seen it yet....I then called to ask about the service I just received and was basically told I'm wrong and the service I got wasn't anything like he had ever witnessed from his employees. They discriminate against people with disabilities. They kicked me out of their store because of a medical condition I have. I've been to hundreds of furniture stores across the northwest and have never been treated like a 3rd class citizen as they treated me let alone kicked out. I even explained my condition even though by law I'm not required. Never going to spend my money there again. Even if they are the only one in oak harbor. Initially there was a problem with a sectional we had ordered from this store. It ended up ripping in the seams, so we got it replaced and it ripped again. The second time it ripped it was a bit difficult to get it swapped out again since the management of this store didn't allow it. Luckily we had the owner contact us and he explained the whole situation and setup for another one to be delivered to us. He was so kind and informative about the whole situation, kindly explaining that this was a manufacturer error and that this particular model had this happen a few times already. I'll keep it simple , as a first time buyer I was disappointed. Not only was I told that my delivery date would be guaranteed but to learn that when the actual date for delivery came I received nothing . I was clear and made things simple as a first time buyer . After my failed delivery I was informed that I would have to wait and when I waited a few more days I received nothing even after I was told it would be with the "next truck ". Good afternoon, my name is Talita Lommen, I purchased a Marble table and 6 chairs from the Oak Harbor store December,2012. 2 months later the marble started presenting stains, white dots and now it is all over the table. I clean it with a marble cleaner so I know it's not my cleaning product. If that wasn't enough Two chairs broke on the same place, and I have no kids so I can assure you my husband and I take really good care of our things. Terrible customer service. Was told my bed frame had to be ordered and it would take 7-10 business days. Four weeks later and I haven't heard anything from them. So I call and get told its been out of stock the last month, but maybe they will get more next week. There's no apologies, or any sort of indication that they realize waiting over a month for a bed if pretty inconveniencing. Also, I end up being told they usually call people to let them know but somehow I got skipped. I've worked retail long enough to know that means 'we know you would be upset, so we decided not to call'. From other reviews this seems to be standard operating procedure for them. I'd recommend against shopping here for anything you aren't taking with you out the door that day. The prices are great but once they have your money, they don't seem to care. read more

I previously gave this place a bad reiview because I was ill informed about the situation at hand. The reason for the 2 month delay on my tv console was because of the strikes happpening at the docks down in California. Which is where they get most of their furniture. The company is even expecting delays from their domestic companies as well as part of the falling and then sudden rise of the economy. having those companies previously laying off most of their workers. Anyway the manager just called me up upon posting my previous review and informed me of the situation Which all checked out factually. I am absolutely in awe that I received such a speedy and intelligent reply that I am 're evaluating this company with 5 stars. With knockout prices and overseen by a manager that actually cares about what's going on with your order I would recommend this company to anyone.
