I hired Kim Furrh Dec 2017. Was in bad spot due to old biz partner stealing from me and running out of time in the year to get it straightened out. She wasted my time talking sarcastic bs to me and avoided answering my simple, direct questions. Instead she told me repeatedly what I what I had not done, like file for C or S corp but never advising which way I should go. Avoided it when I asked her repeatedly for clarification via e-mail and spoke in more nonsense circles instead. Told me an LLC would not help me in any way & my friends that told me this did not know what they were talking about. She trashed some other tax firms too as corrupt liars. Avoid this lying nut case jerk at all costs! Update July 2018: Kim Furhh straight out lied to me by telling me I had to sign my Power of Attorney to her just to get my own past tax transcripts! I learned a few months later doing my own research that anyone can get these for free via IRS.gov website. They say it takes just 10 days but mine did not arrive quite that fast but I requested them in the busy tax season around May 2018. But signing over your POA to a tax lawyer or CPA is definitely not mandatory go get these, and asked Kim Furhh directly, So you're saying this is the only way I can get these past year transcripts?" She replied that yes I had to do it this way. Not only did she tell a blatant lie about that but I was more than clear I only needed help for 2017 tax year. I signed this form in her office and she had only written 2017 on the 4828 form. After I left her office she added the years from 2012 all the way through 2017, 2018 and 2019 as well! When I sent the same form in to revoke her POA I included a letter to the IRS informing them of this and to consider this my formal complaint against Miss Furhh, unless there was a different from I needed to use to file said formal complaint. She was rude to me, dismissive of my concerns and basically some kind of con artist with me. Of course I spoke to a few, about 5 CPA unfortunately in 2016 and 2017 and learned later, again mostly through my own literal hours of online research, that none of them were very forthcoming with me. For example, none of them informed me that the payments my ex made to me for ripping me off in a very successful business we launched together that since all my payments received were not court ordered, they can not be considered alimony, and that she was/is the responsible party for the taxes on those funds not me! If it is not court ordered alimony then they are voluntary payments and can not be considered alimony, therefore the payer bears the tax burden, not the recipient! So these people either did not know their business and lied to me via omission of the plain facts! My ex lied to me and left me in really bad spot, then these CPA's did the same to me. Watch out whom your hire AND do your own research if your tax situation is not basic and clear as to how to file. read more

There are lots of red flags with this place. The CPA, Kimberly does not like to take personal calls and charges for everything. Many clients received letters from the IRS a while back because she had a tax lien against her business for failing to pay her own payroll taxes. Her old business in Frederick was foreclosed on for nonpayment. Her employee turnover is astronomical. She makes lots of promises but doesn't deliver. read more
