At first i was looking at a store a few blocks downtown, but when i called they were not particularly friendly and told me "the flowers will get there at the end of the day because she was 24 blocks up". That's only a little over a mile, people! So back to In Bloom. I Ordered mom a 100 dollar bouquet from a woman who sounded like the owner. I don't love spending 100 bucks on flowers, but its NYC and its mom, so what the heck. My mom called me at about 11:00 AM to tell me that she received a gigantic, beautiful bouquet that was complete with over a half dozen roses, a bunch of lilies, and many other beautiful flowers. My mom is a flower snob and is incredibly hard to please. The flower arrangement was so large that she broke it up into two bouquets! This is a stark contrast to many of my other NY flower delivery experiences, so I heartily recommend.

This place used to be fantastic. They used to offer a great selection of high-quality flowers. A year ago, they had very pretty $25 to $35 bouquets displayed on a shelf outside, and if you bought one, they would inspect the flowers before wrapping it up and swap out any that looked tired. Their premade bouquets now are priced at between $35 and $45, and are noticeably less artful than the ones from a year ago. This week I went in and asked them to make a $60 bouquet for my partner's birthday (for me to take with me, not for delivery). The bouquet came out modest-looking, considering the price point, and one day later, two of the three Gerbera daisies, and one of the three roses they had included were completely withered, demonstrating that these were old and not fresh flowers. Very overpriced for the quality. Disappointed to no longer have a reliable flower shop in the neighborhood. I will post a picture of the $60 bouquet about 18 hours after purchase. My daughter who's a designer loved arrangement and sent me photo, so I could post review. My daughter expected a long box with a dozens roses and happy she didn't have to start cutting long stems at the end of her day. A unique arrangement with orchids made her Valentine's Day special. She knows colors and said tones were perfectly arranged and pleasant to the eye. It's NYC so finding anything below $100 is impossible and felt this arrangement was fairly priced. Highly recommended calling Martha's Art in Flowers 2.
