We had travelled from the Maritimes to attend a family members funeral. My step-son was in need of a hair cut so we dropped into the Herb Barbershop/Central Avenue Hair Salon where two gals and a guy were busy cutting hair. We stood at the counter and after all three of the staff made eye contact and didn't offer any type of greeting we decided to have a seat. After about 15 minutes an older gentleman comes in and sits next to us. Ten minutes later the male barber finishes with his customer and then motions the other gentleman sitting next to us to have a seat in his chair. Shortly after another gentleman walks into the store and is promptly greeted by the first female barber and told to have a seat asking his name, Dean. The other female barber finished with her customer at which time the first female told her too add Dean. Dean was then seated ahead of my stepson. I asked the first female why after an hour of waiting on we couldn't get any service and she told us the others all had an appointment and we would have to wait. Dean didn't have an appointment but he was a local. My advise, if you want a hair cut at Herb's Barber Shop/Central Avenue Hair Salon make sure your a local or plan for a long wait and don't expect any type greeting or service. Swift Current hospitality at its finest.

Well I tried to go there but when I arrived I was told my appointment was actually at 2:00 pm, not…read more2:30, even though I had been told 2:30 a few days ago. (Backstory- the day I booked the appointment the woman on the phone tried to tell me the appointment was at 3:00 pm, but when I asked again she corrected herself that it was indeed at 2:30 pm). So they don't seem to be the most organized folks.
