You know the food is good when everyone at the table goes quiet because they're too busy eating. This was actually my first time ordering La Toxica on Uber Eats since I live pretty far away, and even with a 75-minute wait, it was 100% worth it. The carnitas tacos are probably the best tacos I've had so far. I haven't found another place that does them quite like this. The al pastor is incredible too flavour-wise, it's hard to find anything that compares. I've tried a lot of taco spots around Montreal, and this is one of the closest experiences I've had to authentic Mexican tacos. I enjoy Three Amigos, but it's a completely different style of food. La Toxica feels like the kind of place where someone's mom or grandma is in the kitchen making recipes that have been passed down for generations. This small shop is decorated brightly and really make you feel like your in Mexico. The mangoloko was seasoned perfectly with just the right amount of chamoy and tajin. They also add a small slice of lime and a mint leaf that just elevated the flavours so much more. The mangonada was sweet and rich the mangos used here definitely are ripe! Lastly the elote.. ohhh man was this the winner! Perfectly cooked I opted not to get its spicy but the mix of cheese and talks made my mouth do a happy dance.
