I was getting a bit better the first week with 4 treatments he had suggested. I asked a few questions in his open area where he was adjusting me and he seemed annoyed, I was just curious that's all. The next week on my first visit, he really adjusted my neck strongly. I felt dizzy, like I was going to pass out. The voices in the room seemed distant and I was really frighten. He just left me there, and I was so scared. I thought he would help or call for help, but he didn't. I did eventually (20min) get up and I expressed my concern and he just walked away as if he didn't hear me. I will never go back again and I told my family doctor about it.

Got those several times before, but nowhere near of this severity. Totally brutal. By the time I got to the car I thought my head will explode. All the symptoms I had before I even visited his practice are back: headache, sensitivity to sound and light, tremendous pressure in the eyes, temples, ears ringing, top of the brain and the base feel absolutely raw. Debilitating feeling. Yesterday, I was perfect going in. Got out a wreck. Spent whole night with cold packs on my head, so my brain does not burn up. Went back in today to express my outrage, disappointment, objections and get my money back. His answer was "..there is a fine line..." between hurting and helping. I said, that this was not a fine line he crossed. His head twisting was vicious, unlike previous times. How is this appropriate for concussion symptoms? What is the difference between a blow to the head and brutal twist one way, and then another, I asked? ..."like I was saying there is a fine line..." Next argument was "...you know when you exercise you are in pain that day..." This is not a muscle we are talking about here, but my brain, I replied. The last jewel was "lets test you" you may be better, you are judging your progress by symptoms. I replied that I came because of the symptoms, and they are worse now than when I came in, so there is no test that will convince me otherwise. So there are two choices: 1) After 35 years of practice and "many head injury patients" Dr Turner still does not know what he is doing. 2) My progress was good, so he decided to string me along by re-injuring me. You decide.

Patients are taught to take control of their outcomes, not to be dependent on long passive care treatment plans. Typical physical exams are meant to find the structure in the body that is damaged, what we offer with our "Comprehensive Mobility and Function Analysis " goes above and beyond this to determine WHY that structure is damaged. This is done by clinically assessing fundamental movement patterns, evaluating the physical demands of the patient's day to day life, and patient's postural compensations. For issues that keep coming back or when symptoms (pain, discomfort) seem to come out of no where it is important to determine how and why - this is what this comprehensive assessment is especially good for!

I'm a student, I don't have access to my own vehicle so I rely on my parents car to get around. On this day they had forgotten I had an appointment and lent the car to a friend to go to Toronto, which I didn't know until it was time to get to my appointment, because I work full time remotely and was planning on going on my lunch break. If I could have gone back in time and called the clinic earlier I would have. The policy at Renew is to charge the full fee for appointments cancelled within 24 hours. Tough but fair considering that the specialists are paid out of the bill for their appointment. I was a little disappointed and expressed that I would pay the fee, but the policy was a little inflexible. I'm a student and $98 is a lot for me. I told her that by her attitude she was giving me the impression that nothing disappointing ever happened in her life. The receptionist responded by saying "this was within your control", telling me I have to "take responsibility" and that she has a car and "it doesn't just disappear". Basically just kicking me when I'm already down? Not really sure what she got out of it, but maybe she's in the wrong line of work. I would have been willing to go in for the last 30 minutes as my brother offered me a ride after his class, but my conversation with reception just turned me off the entire clinic. I'll find somewhere else to go instead.

I visited the clinic in person to book my first appointment. I let them know what I wanted to have looked at, then they promptly scheduled me in with one of their available doctors. They appear to have enough doctors on staff that finding openings isn't the hassle it often is. During my first appointment, I let my doctor know that I was experiencing some knee pain. I further explained that I couldn't quite pinpoint the causal event. After some short conversation about the type of pain, where it was located specifically, a discussion of what activities would aggravate the injury, and direct stimulation of the area, she was able to identify the cause and explain to me in approachable terms what the injury was. But what good is a diagnosis without relief, right? The first treatment started with some massage therapy to the knee and surrounding muscles. She then made use of a "shock therapy" machine, which is a tool used to rapidly impact the injured area, thereby breaking up scar tissue. What I'm told is a "class four" laser was used to stimulate healing. Importantly, she also introduced me to several exercises, meant to strengthen associated muscles so that I could avoid a similar injury in the future. To be honest, after the first appointment, I didn't feel much difference if any, but regardless, I gave it a second go, and thank God I did. We essentially went through the same procedure again, and as if by magic (but actually science) I felt zero pain by the end of the session. Sadly I'm not Wolverine, so this complete relief was temporary, but the progress was undeniable. All in all the experience was very positive. I should say that I've never been to see a chiropractor prior to this experience, so take my opinion with a grain of salt. That being said, I think they do fine work here, and I'd be happy to recommend them.

I sprained my neck on the Go Train (yes on the Go Train, can you believe that?!) prior to my business trip and I felt very uncomfortable. My whole neck, shoulder and upper back were so tight. Thank god I found Dr. Choi and Dorothy Ho! Dr. Choi is a chiropractor at this clinic and she knows her stuff, a few shock here and there with the machine (I don't have a science background!), massage and neck adjustment really eased the tension a lot. She also teaches you a lot of stretch moves to strengthen the impacted area so you feel better quicker and prevent future injuries better. To help speed up the recovery process, she introduced me to the RMT that works at the clinic also, Dorothy Ho. Dorothy Ho is probably one of the best massage therapists i had, the initial visit assessment was very detailed and once you lay on the massage bed just a few push here and there and she already knows which area is tight and require a work on. She did my whole upper back, shoulder and neck so well that I felt a lot better the next day despite the soreness. Overall, MSK clinic is very professional, clean and client oriented! This will now my go to place to get my massage and chiro treatments! Make sure you call to make an appointment in advance!
