Hot yoga is not my preferred type of yoga class. But every time I finish a hot yoga session, as I'm walking out dripping with sweat and legs shaking, I always think, "Hot dang! I feel alive! I love hot yoga!" I can't make hot yoga an everyday part of my practice, but every so often, I like to take a heated class to shake things up. My heated class this time happened at Fusion Yoga in Fort Wayne. First, I gotta give a shoutout to the owners for providing childcare. I have never seen such a thing at a yoga studio! I didn't have children with me, but several women in my class did, and I love that my sisters in yoga were able to practice for an hour in a space that welcomes kids, then kindly takes the children away so mom can focus on herself for a bit. What a wonderful thing to see, and it really set the mood for a nice class. Celeste was the instructor for my hot vinyasa flow class. She was great, and her class really kicked my butt. It was way more advanced than I thought it would be! In Celeste's class, I really challenged myself and did some things that I had never tried before, and I was happy with myself for keeping up with the class. The class was packed mat to mat, from the door to the front of the classroom, and a couple of times I had to focus on my breath so I wouldn't spiral from lack of fresh air (which can sometimes happen in a hot yoga class). But I made it the full hour, and was rewarded with that incredibly light and otherworldly feeling you only get after a hot yoga class. The studio itself was undergoing some renovations when I visited, so I didn't get to see much beyond the classroom and the lobby. They sell a lot of yoga paraphernalia, like yoga mats, clothing, and yoga mat cleaner that they make in-house. read more

My partner and I were visiting Ft Wayne from out of town. We're hardcore fans of Bikram Yoga and we approached Fusion with some trepidation - knowing that it isn't a pure Bikram studio. We needn't have worried. We went to a Vinyasa Flow class, which opened our minds to the idea that we might well benefit from broadening our practice. We certainly decided that Fusion will be our place to practice yoga in Fort Wayne. The studio is spotless and aesthetically lovely. From what we experienced the heating and ventilation lives up to the studio's claim that it is state of the art. Most importantly, we had a moment to speak with the studio's owner, Celeste Sexton as well as with the instructor for our class (Tina Tazian). Both could not have been more welcoming and both, without needing to say so directly, made it very clear that the studio approaches yoga seriously, without taking itself too seriously. Before, during and after the class, we received helpful guidance and encouragement. We could not have been made to feel more welcome. Before we got to Fusion, I really felt like we were making a necessary, but unfortunate compromise by going to a studio that teaches something other than Bikram. I am delighted to say that I was wrong. I have every confidence that Fusion has what it takes to become for us the combination of place to learn, to exercise and to seek sanctuary that makes some yoga studios very special places. Get your hot YOGA on here! This is an awesome new yoga studio with state of the art technology offering the only place in Fort Wayne to do HOT YOGA the right way. The instructor/owner (Celeste) really knows her stuff and works well with her students regardless of experience level. They accept walk-ins and memberships which is nice and also do some really cool events partnering with other local businesses that are fun and worth checking out. The facility itself is very well done with a lounge area and a boutique (Cuzen) of higher end women's casual and work-out clothing. Also, they're not just doing Yoga here...there are several other classes to get your fitness on such as a sculpt class, barre class, and the best zumba class in the city (smokin' hot instructor). I highly recommend getting your fitness on at Fusion Yoga - you'll shed the pounds, tone up, sweat your ass off and feel great about yourself. read more

I have a lot of different physical traumas and it has made yoga difficult in the past. I know the benefits of yoga are endless so I wanted to try one more yoga studio before giving into the idea that I just might be really bad at practicing yoga. This all changes when I went to Fusion. I learned the movements and the mechanics of the movements. I have learned how to breath with others in a beautiful one breath one movement. I have never felt so connected to my body, so strong, and so aware as I do currently, as a result of my practice with Fusion. I never feel judged. I feel supported and encouraged. The studio is breathtaking. It is modern and clean. I always feel spoiled when I go, like, "I get to come to such a beautiful place!" All the instructors are kind, smart, strong, and focused on your individual practice within the group space, which is unique. I feel like I am both individually seen and seen as a group member. I am a veteran as well and the offer so much to those who have served. It is amazing to feel honored for the service I have done in the past. I am currently a mental health counselor and going to the studio at night always me to breath into my space and clear out my mind allowing me to be present and prepared for my next day at work.
