Unclean facilities, overcrowded and lots of people with no feel. -People lifting bare feet and resting their feet on dumbbells in between sets -people vlogging on weight room floor (not everybody wants to be in the background of your video) - dirty bathrooms - blood on a foam roller - and much more. Sadly I've been told the DuPont location is the only location that gets updated equipment but also is overcrowded. Really nice staff. Love what they stand for and appreciate their support for first responders but at what point do I sacrifice a bad gym experience for their beliefs $40 for a two week guest pass is ridiculous

Nice older equipment down in the dungeon and some newer. They got it all here. Upstairs is a nice room for the runners and elliptical enthusiast who like a nice treadmill or an elliptical machine. Nice little weight room off to the side of the runners area. Nice for older folks who like machine weights or those with skinnier arms or just not as strong. Parking isn't bad either across the street, you can watch your car while running the treadmill and listening to your earpods. I like to pop in my earbuds or iPods that is and off to runners land. Very nice gym, some dues to pay each month unless you get it free through work or being broke... I just like to go! bring your pre workout powder drink mix and some creatine and you're in business big guy. Make sure to chase down a good Protein drink after an intense lifting season along with some Glutamine or something.

Tori has been on top of my nutrition and fitness and helping me understand how to manage that in an amazing way, she has always provided me with actionable items I can work on and guided me on how to manage my meals and relationship with food along with kicking my ass at the gym. Seriously though she has helped me tremendously on how to lift and work out effectively and correctly. She pushes me to always give my best and is a constant motivator. The sheer amount of knowledge on how to correctly manage nutrition and working out has been amazing and an eye opener. I could talk and talk and talk about all the amazing things this Gym is doing, but I'll end with a short personal journey: Before velocity my A1C (this determines if you are diabetic) was all over the place and was only in control due to meds like insulin, and when I worked out or played sports I would eventually injure myself due to bad form or doing things the incorrect way. After 12 weeks at Velocity - my blood sugar is the best shape it has been in a very long time (completely of insulin now), and I am having the best time working out I have ever had. The instructors are very friendly and helpful as well as the students of the academy. My boys have been participating in the Gracie bully-proof program since last fall (2015)…read more Cameron(and Kane) are great with the kids. They seem to enjoy what they are doing. The kids are learning and having fun. The place is clean, parking is ample. The classes are small but large enough for all the kids to participate with a partner. What makes this program different from others is the kids are learning to protect themselves without hurting the bully unless they have to which keeps them from getting into trouble with the school. Freuently you'll see the bully and the child trying to defend themselves getting into trouble. That should not be the case here as the kids are learning to subdue and apply pressure (pain) as needed without causing unnecessary harm to the bully. The techniques work with any size. You will often see small kids paired up with.larger kids because size does not matter here. If you can subdue the bully and apply a little pressure on those sensitive spots you get get someone to leave you alone. I cannot speak on the adult classes , however I assume the apply the same the same techniques just more in depth. I have seen fake weapons so I believe he teaches them how to disarm someone if need be. It is also a little gentler on the body than other martial arts.
