They were more focused on disciplining marginalized children of color, rather than discussing the set curriculum and education expectations and goals. To make matters worse, they force you to act out a scenario DISCIPLINING a grade school child. You're not allowed to use terms such as "this is a warning" and "don't let it happen again". They automatically want you to aggressively scream at a child with the following verbiage "[child's name] STOP TALKING! CONSEQUENCE!" If a number of consequences (6) occur, the child automatically goes to detention and then placed on a "watch list" for behavioral monitoring. It leaves no window for kids to be kids, but white--washed robots. Also, the recruiters for some reason try to play a mind game with you regarding a short haiku, "to better understand your train of thought". Long story short, the answer is mouse... the mouse's perceptive . See poem below for your reference if you decide to interview there. All in all, doesn't come off as a great institution and it's alarming that this place actually exist. Also, the work hours are insanely long. 10 hours + a day at the school, plus an additional 1-2 hours working once you're "off". You're not allowed to take sick days since they have no subs to replace you. They also emphasize being able to learn and take FEEDBACK as a teacher. Meaning, senior leadership will insult you and demean you (sometimes in front of the students) and you're obligated to take it and just say "understood. Thank you for your feedback." The culture seems extremely sketchy. It comes off as a cult-like entity. The recruiter I spoke with mentioned they were once a teacher there, but transitioned to HR/ recruitment just after 2 years of being there. HUGE RED FLAG!!!! Dishonest billing after withdrawal; ignored records request…read more I enrolled at Fullstack Academy and later withdrew. My student advisor confirmed in writing (via Slack DMs) that my final two payments would be canceled and not charged. Weeks later I received an email saying they planned to charge me anyway. They also deleted my student account and removed me from their Slack, which blocked me from accessing the very messages that confirm the cancellation. My request for a copy of those DMs was ignored. I immediately sent a formal revocation of payment authorization and notified my bank because these attempted charges could have overdrawn my account by $1,000+. Fullstack cited a "no refunds after 6 weeks" policy, but in my case they are using it as a loophole to demand money after telling me in writing I wouldn't be charged. This has caused significant stress and wasted hours of my time. I've filed complaints with the CFPB and the NY Attorney General. Policies aside, trustworthy schools honor their written commitments and provide students access to their records. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this program. If you're considering it, get everything in writing and be very cautious about autopay authorizations.

They left us with just "work hard" and sent a couple of links. The rest of the classes just kept pandering to the computer science students because they were the majority and left others in the dust. Its a complete money grab because they analyze the majority in the course and teach them and abandon others.

Their approach to Improv is a nice technique that is split up into six different ways to sharpen your skills with something as simple a 'Listening' and then 'Making your scene partner the most important person in the scene' the second tenant and then and only then can one invest in the 'Yes, And' concept. There's also a focus on Silence in each of the improv, which made me very curious because it would affect the speed or pacing of which a scene was progressing. Andy Schneeflock was a phenomenal teacher and always addressed each of our levels and questions with grace.
