It can get very busy in the summer and if you are particularly good you end up catching up to the people in front and having to wait. The guy in the booth is friendly enough and the putters and greens are kept in good nick. This is an ideal way to kill half an hour with friends as the prices are cheap and there are discounts given for group bookings taken in advance if your organised!

There are swim sessions for parents and toddlers, as well as sessions for gym and dance and drama. Children can enrol for trampolining, football skills, aquafun, gymnastics, etc. During holidays and Half Terms there are also holiday schemes for children. They have a large number of extremely well maintained grass courts and an even larger number of hard and all weather courts. The club is in the centre of Felixstowe so it is very easy to get to shops inbetween matches etc. They have a good sized car park and there is parking on the residential streets around the place too. The club hosts a number of tournaments and has a resident professional who runs coursesw for both children and adults. It has a very classic old ENglish feel about the place and it is well worth going and watching some matches even is you don't play.

For walkers, it's around 2 hours to complete the loop and for runners / joggers - maybe an hour (depends on how fast / fit you are!) Mostly solid trails the whole way round although during winter / wet periods some paths can become very muddy so worth wearing correct footwear. I'd say an easy walk, but a couple (just a couple) of steep(ish) hills to bear in mind. Lots of mountain bikers at weekends, so if you're running or walking, keep your wits about you.... Nice cafe at the visitor centre and if you use Alton water regularly you can buy a parking season ticket from the cafe for (I think) about £30...(although you can park up at the lemon hill end for free...not sure how long that will last though!) Lovely walk, run, outdoor space - very child friendly too.
