Although we did not have a common language, the man who helped me was very friendly about my irregular order of one of half a dozen different types of sweets. He also gave me a free sample of one type of sweet that I hadn't chosen. Unfortunately I didn't learn the names of anything I bought, so I still don't know what we tasted, but it was all rather interesting. Nothing was so amazing that I felt I absolutely had to figure out what it was called so that I could look up a recipe later. It was quite affordable. Stop by if you happen to be in the area, but certainly don't make a trip just to visit the shop.

Pretty good Börek…read more This place sits nicely on Mühürdar Caddesi in the middle of all the action in Kadiköy. There are a few tables outside....a good choice to enjoy the weather and to do some people-watching. We grabbed a coke, a yoghurt drink and a plate of spinach Börek. Service was fast and friendly, prices are low. The Börek was pretty good, fresh and crispy. Lacked maybe a bit of seasoning. But nicely presented and perfect for a little snack. Choices here in Kadiköy are plenty....for good prices (compared to Sultanahmet). And this little place here is a good choice to grab a drink and a bite.
