One night, another student, someone I did not know and was not with, threw a glass, which shattered. One of the bartenders apparently believed I had done it and began shouting at me in Spanish, asking why I had thrown it. I repeatedly told him in Spanish, "It wasn't me." Before I could really react, the bartender punched me in the jaw. My jaw hurt for days afterward.
Immediately afterward, a friend and I, neither of whom had thrown the glass, were forcibly removed from the bar. I called the police, who came to the bar. I explained what had happened to them in Spanish, and they spoke with the bartenders, but ultimately no action was taken that night.
I continued going to this bar afterward because it was where much of our group regularly went. About two months later, the bartender apologized to me. However, that does not change what happened.
I realize I am writing this review more than a year later, but the experience has continued to bother me, and I think prospective customers deserve to know about it. Being punched in the face by a bartender over something I did not do was completely unacceptable. I still have issues to this day with my TMJ, my temporomandibular joint. I hope the establishment takes incidents like this seriously and ensures nothing similar happens to another customer.
