The only reason for 4 stars and not five was the cigarette smoke. Being from the US I'm use to no smoking in restaurants and common areas, but like most of the area smoking is still ok. Had the fresh trout one night for dinner and it was GREAT, no kidding I would have never thought that this meal came from a small hotel like this, just goes to show not to judge before you try. Had my clothes washed on this leg of my trip and I'm not sure what they added or did to my clothes but they smell so fresh. The entire staff was great from the gals that took care of breakfast to the people that touched up my room. And even if you lack the language skills to converse in German, pretty much everyone speaks English. If I'm ever back for work in the area I will stay here and try some more fish. Last thing the train from the Vienna airport runs straight thru town and runs @ 30 euro's better price than an of the other options made available.

What a unique restaurant! very very well designed and decorated. The menu is on the wood, you eat on a wooden plate, the food can't get more traditional than that. Here is how I rate: - Atmosphere: wonderful! so traditional, feel like home, super welcome - Seating area: they have smoking and non-smoking room. Very traditonal seating room as well - Toilet: I know it's weird that I put up here. But you have to visit the toilet here, so freaking traditional!! haha. So well decorated and you feel like you are in a forest back in the 1800s! very clean and nice - Owner: very very nice and speak a little bit of English. - Foods: hmm hmm hmm..yummmmmm. Call the house special! the owner will prepare a big dish with everything on the menu for you to try. It fed 7 of us! - Price: very reasonable and not expensive. Will I come back? Hell yes!!!!

This hotel is in a perfect location to explore Graz and get some traditional Austrian food, drink and scenery. The lower review is down to room facilities. The room was large and clean but missed some essentials for me. There are no tea/coffee making facilities and no iron/ironing board. The bed was large, the pillows soft and the mattress firm. Not my personal preference but i slept and felt rested. Unfortunately, the thin walls made it harder as I heard everything my neighbours did (showers, opening their wardrobe etc) The biggest problem for me was the shower, although it was really clean and modern I had problems with the water. You cannot set a consistent temperature. It would go ice cold and then scolding hot within seconds. Sometimes it would be fine, but sometimes it was hard to take a shower. I suspect it's when it others are using the water nearby. Overall my experience was okay and because I was busy I was never able to give the hotel the opportunity to fix my problems. I'm sure if I did they would have done their best as the staff were extremely friendly upon checkin and came across very helpful.

I found Roomz to be a very good place to stay in Graz. I was there for 4 nights for a wedding. We…read morechecked in without incident. All the rooms are pretty much the same, though their door color dictates the color scheme inside. Very modern room with 2 twins (converts into a king). The room was pretty small, but such is Europe. There was a small area to put suitcases, hang things, and cubbies to unpack. Also a small TV mounted to the wall and bedside tables. I liked that there were ample outlets and light switches by the beds for convenience. The shower was nice and large. One weird thing about it was that it is out in the open. No door separates it from the room. The door closes off the toilet but sink and shower are out, and the door is glass. Not a problem for me since I was staying with my husband, but it would be if it were just a friend or a work colleague. I found the service to be really good. All staff spoke English well. Price was right. Good location - a streetcar stop immediately outside the hotel, with direct access to the city center (5-10 minute ride). You could also walk about a mile there. There are gas stations and a couple cafes. The restaurant onsite served food but we didn't eat there. The hotel also shares its building with a police station so it was very safe. Very quiet inside. Never heard a neighbor or the outside (we were on the 5th floor). We had an issue with the air - it won't turn on unless it's a certain temp outside. We were warm the whole stay, my only real complaint. We left the window open all day but at night listened to street noise with that, plus were not a comfortable temperature. Overall I would recommend, especially for the price.
