Gina is very friendly, very thorough in explaining what's best suitable haircut for me, I show her a picture and she got it, she advised me not to cut my hair too short since the picture I showed her was too short for my look, and so I trusted her to freely cut my hair based on what I wanted, and she did it amazingly, she was right, it turned out very well, my hair is more stylish, she also fixed my frizzy hair. My hair now looks so fresh, and most importantly I love it so much! Plenty parking spots in a big parking lot. I definitely highly recommend this place. I always had an issue finding a hairstylist that understood pixie, short or the attempt at growing hair out. Jina was awesome, very personable and friendly!! she understood what I wanted to do going forward with my hair. I have worn my hair in a pixie/short way for 20 years, so styling my recently grown hair (while still short) hasn't been easy. My hair is very fine, at points wavy and was growing in a weird pattern. Jina took her professional to a whole new level. She washed my hair and proceeded to review my strands. As she cut, she analyzed each section to ensure an all-around cut. I showed her a photo of the haircut I was striving for and she gave me the choppy bob haircut exactly how I wanted.She's talented and super sweet and her prices are just amazing. She's not overcharging even though she can, she is very ethical and super sweet. Took my 2 boys and myself to get a haircut here for the 1st time w/ Jina. Very satisfied with outcome! I've had a difficult time finding the right Barbers/ haircut place to cut Asian hair the right way. Somehow barbers/stylist in area have a difficult time cutting fine hair. Finally found a spot that I'm really happy with for my entire family! Boys had 2 different hairstyles (short and long hair cuts) and she nailed both of them. If you ask, she'll give you great recommendations and tips. Pros: Hairstylist Jina is very nice and and really takes her time to cut your hair (took almost 2 hours to give 3 haircuts). Make an appointment if you can...I walked in and luckily there was no wait time. $15 boys cut and $20 men's cut (comparable to most)...think this kind of service could easily cost $30. I went today for one solid color and it cost me $100?! Whoever put on Yelp that prices were cheap are lying. Yes, I probably Should've asked how much but I called 5 over places and them pay was $70 for ONE solid color. I didn't do anything extra. Don't get me wrong, nice lady but what she's asking for us crazy. She cut my hair but didn't even have to blow dry it out or style it! I told her I wasn't going out until later so she didn't have to. I was very upset with the price. My hair came out ok, but like I said..... Just one color!! I left a very unhappy customer. I will not be back and I will never refer anyone there. Those prices are ridiculous. Work was average. I even told her I was surprised for how high her prices were. Especially for not blow dying and styling my hair. I came here due to the excellent reviews, but I didn't have a positive experience here. This was my first time at the salon. The lady who styled and cut my hair, is presumably Jina. She was rough with me when she washed my hair and getting up with the towel over my head. Side note: Not being apologetic when you might have been rough with a customer or when you accidentally drop an item on them is... subpar to say the least For my haircut, I gave her an idea of what I wanted. While the end result is okay, it isn't really what I wanted. My hair came out shorter than what I am comfortable with and when I asked to take a tiny bit of length off, she took way too much. I felt like she didn't really listen to what I was saying in terms of what I wanted, and just did her own thing. I also did not like that she did not tell me what she was doing in terms of how much length she is cutting off, why she was angling cutting the sides of my bangs when I wanted side swept and how that would contribute to it. ALL of these factors made me very anxious and kind of miserable being there. Overall, the whole process was fast and kinda cheap. I really did want to like this place, but my first impression here will probably be my last. I don't think I'll be coming back here to get my hair cut. read more

Sonia is fabulous!!! I always go to Korean hair salons out in the SGV, but found this place on Yelp (even though I've lived in the Upland area for over 10 years- lol)!!! It's a non-description, no-frills kinda shop right behind Starbucks. Haircuts are in the $30-$35 range (which is standard nowadays). But she did a great job!!! Both my daughters have super thick, looooonnnggg hair, but she did a great job on 2 different cuts. It's been about 3 months, and both haircuts have grown out beautifully! This salon has recently gone under new ownership, so I would recommend ignoring previous reviews. The new owner, Jina, is a sweet and patient Korean lady. I followed her here from her previous location at Fancy Hair in Rowland Heights, and I don't mind traveling the extra distance since she's too good to pass up. She's fast, efficient, and precise. She also gives good recommendations if you don't know what to do with your hair. Her price is also very fair, and I usually tip a bit extra. One time I was a little late to my appointment, and she still took extra care to make sure my hair was perfect even though people started lining up after me. She didn't rush the job like most people would have done. Definitely recommend trying her out. I've been going to her for all my haircuts for a year now! read more

Worst haircut of my life. Went in for a quick trim for a retirement ceremony the next day. The cut was so bad the another stylist down the street spent 40 minutes to get it back to very bad and that was great in comparison. I complained to the owner and I was told the girl was an independent contractor and they were not responsible. I never knew someone could do so much damage that it will take month to grow out enough to fix and even with that the haircut I had at my retirement can never be fixed. I work in Beverly Hills, and people from there are asking me where i get my hair cut and always compliment me for it.. so hey! beverly hills style, at a low cost!! yay! Honestly a little hesitant on writing this review. She's been my little kept secret. I go to the gym down the street so I just pop in when I have time. I've only used her for haircuts and trims. I've had her trim my hair extensions which seems to be a big problem with hairdressers but she did a really good job there were no complaints. I've also have had her trim wigs for me actually several wings that I was extremely happy with. And I have also had her trim my natural hair.. honestly I think she has magic scissors because my hair has grown from shoulderlength to mid back in less than a year the last time I got my haircut. Sonia was wonderful! Came in for a hair cut as a walk-in customer and got helped right away. Sonia was both careful and attentive and made sure to listen carefully to what I wanted. She kept on checking in with me as she progressed to make sure I was comfortable with what she was doing. Sonia was very meticulous - it felt like she was sculpting my hair. The cut came out great and was $30! She did a dry cut on me (no shampoo before cutting), and I honestly think it works out the best that way. Most salons will wash your hair and then cut it while wet, which doesn't allow the stylist to account for your hair's natural bends and waves. Sonia is really sweet and nice. I like her salon because it reminds me of the little Asian barbers that would be in downtown San Jose back in the day, nothing too elaborate, just something small and humble. Nowadays with those high-spun fancy salon when they ask you if you want this shampoo or that service.. Anyway, she's also efficient and does a good job with hair cuts and can do any hair style you want if you bring a picture. She doesn't make as much chit-chat as upselly hair stylists trying to forge personal connections because her English is more limited, but she is friendly and will make you feel at home. I got a bob-like hairstyle and it looks nice! Her price is $25 which is something for me but I hear that it's good for the haircut you get. I think Claremont College students should go here instead of those places in the Village, but that's just me. read more

Really enjoyed my haircut today - the owner (and only hairdresser) is so welcoming and patient! Even though my hair is quite thick, she did not complain at all and took her time with me when there was another client waiting. I did not feel rushed, which is a first. Usually at chains they give you a quick cut when there's other clients waiting and that's it. Here, the owner actually cares and asks you what kind of cut you'd like and other details.
