I explained my fast track situation an he came over to the house within 2 hours, gave me an estimate and we discussed the scope of the project. His pricing was super reasonable and he accepted the challenges that the job had regarding staining, due to years of Smoking and the tight time frame I needed to get this completed. His painters were well mannered, a mother and son team, they were super. The interior came out very nicely and they even threw in some extras without charging me. Scott Brooks and Brooks Bros Painting got this job estimated and completed before I even got return phone calls from the other people I had called. Scott also assisted me in getting some cleaning girls for some general clean up I needed also, he even helped my thrift store haul away dude loading his truck with something too heavy for him to load by himself. He had spread sheets and invoices that all showed my project would in fact come in under budget. He explained that there were problems with their new software and that some items were in there twice, and some needed to be removed, not to worry. I ended up being over $120,000 over budget. I paid for everything and more. There was also a two month break in the project because Frank Mcswain filed the incorrect permits. He also ordered the wrong windows according to HOA criteria so they had to be removed and replaced. I paid for both sets of windows. I asked if they all open and close properly, SURE SURE. They don't. 3 don't open at all. I was told they are under warranty though, so just schedule some more work. Frank and Caleb lied to me throughout the entire project. I paid way more than the contract price and Mcswain team completed about 80 percent of what they promised. I also heard from some of his subcontractors that they were not being paid. So on one hand Frank Mcswain was charging me extra and on the other not paying the men doing the work.

Given the way costs for this sort of work have gone crazy around Glenwood Springs, the final price for all the work seemed fair and reasonable - especially given the high quality of the work.

I've been around the restoration business for a bunch of years, both as a customer and as a vendor…read more That means I've been exposed to good restoration companies, mediocre ones, and ones... that when you read about them, a cold chill will run up your spine. That means I'm comfortable telling you, I know a few things about the industry and their dirty little secrets... I did my due diligence on both James and Chafika (the owners) before I decided to even consider getting involved with them. FYI, I've turned into quite an ambassador for both them and the people that work in their company. 2 things really stood out for me. One - They take what they do very seriously (they work hard and excel at doing a great job). Two - They like to help people. *IMO, that's a perfect combination, especially in this industry. I've looked hard at their before and after pictures (on their site) to compare them against other jobs I've seen. The verdict? They walk their talk. I have one BIG REGRET... I wish I was in their service territory because I would feel very comfortable and safe having them take care of any issues I had. FYI - I've had basement floods, sewage issues, and mold problems so I've been "knee-deep" in it and I know what a mess it can be. BTW - not all my reviews on Yelp or elsewhere are as "glowing" as this one is. You can look me up if you'd like ;-) Full Exposure: I am an outside vendor of theirs and have worked with them for a while so when I recommend them I do it based on my experiences with them.
