I'm 28 and tore my ACL this past winter playing sports…read more Dr. Key did an allograft ACL replacement and a lateral meniscus repair on me earlier this year. His work was impeccable, he had a great idea from my MRI as to what exactly would need to be done before I went under the knife. Post-surgery, he prescribed a timely (four month) rehab of the injury by fielding questions in follow up visits. He was extremely friendly, wise, experienced and professional the entire way. In four months, I am now ready to get back to competition. I will highly recommend Dr. Key to friends & family in the future.

I had a knee replacement done by Dr. Key in September 2004. About six weeks after, my knee showed…read moresigns of infection. He did not treat that infection as anything more than a Surface wound. It went away however for year and a half afterwards my condition gradually became worse and worse to where I could not walk. I continued to go back to Dr. Key and ask him to look again at my knee because it hurt so badly and he dismissed it saying that it was my back that was bad not my knee. I went to the back doctor but not before I got an x-ray of my knee from my general practitioner to bring with me. after one look at my back the doctor said that it wasn't my back it was my knee and when he looked at the x-rays he said that my knee wasn't even attached. I ask him why Dr. Keyes Would not have known that and he said to me "he would've Known if he had seen your x-rays". I stopped and thought about it and realized that in a year and a half after my surgery not one x-ray was ever done by Dr. Key to look at my knee. There are more horror stories out there that I've heard since my own but putting that aside they'll have to write their own comments I just know that that lead me down the road to what I have now in my knee which is only a hinge and permanent disability on top of that. so if you think about going to this doctor don't, stop and run the other way fast while you still have a leg to stand on!

I am just leaving KCOI in Leawood where the doctor I saw over the weekend at KCOI Urgent Care…read morescheduled an MRI on my cervical spine. I checked in for the appointment today, paid my co-pay and waited for a technician to call me. Once I got in the MRI department, I reminded the tech that I have a Spinal Cord Stimulator implanted by Dr. Fotopolis in 2024. I had discussed this with the tech and doctor that saw me in the Urgent Care department. I also recorded it on the intake form that day. The tech told me they don't have the correct MRI machine to do any MRI's on patients with stimulator implants and none of their facilities do and I needed to make an appt. at an independent imaging company. The people I spoke with today at KCOI were very apologetic and I understand mistakes are made. What I am upset about is evidently the doctors at KCOI put in 100's of stimulators each year and are supposedly they are the #1 rated Ortho Hospital in the city, yet they don't choose to buy an imaging machine that is stimulator compatible. Frankly, I was stunned

I help care for a loved one who lives with lifelong mobility challenges. Last winter, they began…read moreexperiencing major instability in their knee. After a hospitalization and an initial consultation with another orthopedic surgeon--who only ordered X-rays on the day surgery was scheduled, then canceled without providing a clear plan--we knew it was time to get a second opinion. That's when we found KC Orthopedic. Their team carefully reviewed all prior records and matched us with Dr. Peer, who proved to be the perfect physician for this complex case. From the start, Dr. Peer showed incredible professionalism and attention to detail. He coordinated with the primary care provider to order the necessary X-rays, EKGs, and labs. He also took the time to understand the full medical history, including a difficult past knee replacement on the other leg that had led to complications. Dr. Peer approached surgery with extraordinary care. He spent nearly four hours performing the knee replacement to ensure precision and safety. The outcome was remarkable--the knee was usable right away, and there has been no post-operative pain. After such a disappointing experience with the first surgeon, working with Dr. Peer was a completely different experience. He listened, cared deeply, and was prepared every step of the way. We are beyond grateful for Dr. Peer's skill and dedication, and we wholeheartedly recommend him and KC Orthopedic to anyone in need of orthopedic care. Truly the best physician we've ever worked with.
