I can totally understand when offices are busy and don't bother to take care of there customers because they are loaded with work. I have filled my taxes with this office for 4 years now and before that I did them with Justo Gaitan who retired and recommended them. I had to give a copy of my tax forms to immigration and I had all of them except 2020 because I did them online with their office instead of walking in. I did not recall getting a copy( but I did by email) so I called to ask from what email do they usually send them from so I could do a search since I had already tried and I was not successful and the lady who answered (I do not recall her name. My bad for not getting it down) said " Call back in an hour. Cause she obviously was trying to get me off the phone when the answer could have taken 2-3 mins max. But we all don't have the customer skills needed, obviously! Anyway, I was busy and lost track of time and missed their cut off to call so I called the next day. Some gal answered and said it was a $30 dollar fee for a copy and I told her she did not understand I was not trying to avoid paying the fee but I wasn't asking for a copy. I just wanted to know from what email it was sent so I could do a search. So she transferred my call to Eduardo so I could give him my email. I explained to him my situation and he had good customer service but couldn't help me much so he transfered my call to ISKRA. ISKRA was very helpful. She got what I was talking about and boom gave me the info I needed to do my search. She went straight to the point, right what I needed. If your a good listener you can give the right results. I took the time to call back and thank her! People with great customer service should be rewarded and recognized for it. DONT GO HERE! I've got my taxes done by Pricilla for the last 3 years (2021,2022,2023). She made a mistake in my 2022 taxes and stated it was a computer glitch. For that she offered to do my taxes for free the following year, great. At the end of the year 2024 I received a letter from the IRS that I owed them over $3K because my 2022 taxes were done incorrectly. I tried to reach out to Pricilla, she said she wasn't in town and would message me in a week. I waited even though I had a dead line to fix or pay the IRS! I reached out multiple times after that and no response, I messaged her on Instagram and email, I tried calling the office, no response. When I finally got through they told me they would look into it. They were going to pass it on to another tax preparer. Then no response again. I had to hire a different tax person and pay them to fix her error. I paid the IRS the money. Now that I did my taxes somewhere else, they didn't give me the full refund because they charged me amount I "owed" the IRS, since they still haven't processed the 2022 payment!! Gaitan Tax just ignores and doesn't answer. They are a family business but don't care about what families they affect. Pricilla and her team are unprofessional. I referred Pricilla to my sister back in 2021. When my sister asked her for a copy of her taxes Pricilla sent her another persons tax return!! They had the same name. She also made a mistake on the actual taxes and put my brother in law as my sisters son. Careless and distracted! I would not recommend! I was very patient, called them for assistance not to get anything for free, just to fix the mistake they made. Now here I am in 2025 fixing her issue from 2022 on my taxes. You are better off doing them on TurboTax yourself. read more

I don't normally do reviews, but it felt like this is very important. I brought my taxes in two weeks before filing deadline of April 15. I paid a deposit to have my taxes looked at, and then I was supposed to have an appointment scheduled to finalize my taxes. I never received a call for that appointment. I called several times and got the same statement that as soon as the tax consultant was free, I would get a call back. On the tax deadline had to file an extension because of the lack of response. I am now facing another problem as I need my tax return completed by May 2 for my son's financial aid and it looks like that's not going to happen. I understand they're extremely busy but it seems like I've given them more than enough time to complete my taxes they have all of my documents so I can't complete them on my own. At this point, I'm at a loss of what I can do. They have my money and all of my tax documents. When I call it seems like I'm putting them out and frustrating them. When all I'm trying to do is get the services done I put a deposit down for. I have had my taxes done with this company before and didn't receive this type of service so I'm very confused on on what's gone wrong. read more

No one ever returns your call, I've found so many mistakes, wrong bank account was not entered correctly, not all my w2 were filed. I have had my information entered incorrectly for two years now. The first year was in 2021 when Iskra prepared my return. (My street address is incorrect) Fast forward to this year, I decided to give them a second chance because I understand humans make mistakes. The location is about one hour away from home. I walk in, and the office staff doesn't greet me with a smile. I didn't feel welcome, but rather like I was bothering them. Still, I proceeded because I was already there, but my intuition warned me. I paid $320 because I included form 1099-NEC (door dash) in my return. I didn't submit any expenses because that would have cost me an additional 60 dollars. Instead, I wrote down my account number for Veronica, who helped me file my 2022 tax return. I even read it out loud to confirm that it was correct; she said it was. I woke up this morning because something told me to check my paperwork. I noticed the last digits of my account number were INCORRECT. This was very disappointing, and I'll tell you why. I got laid off from my job at the end of January 2023. This month, I counted on my tax return to help me get by while I secure another position. I called the IRS and discovered my direct deposit date would be 2/22/23. But because the account number needed to be corrected, those funds wouldn't be coming through. By the grace of god, who woke me up this morning to check my return, the IRS representative was able to switch it to a paper check by mail. But, I now have to wait an additional 4 WEEKS to receive it by mail. If I had not noticed the error, I would have had to wait longer because the bank would have had to reject the deposit first, then return it to the IRS. I called the office and talked to Priscilla, who apologized for the inconvenience and offered to file my taxes at no cost next year. Which is very thoughtful of her, but that still doesn't make up for what I will go through the next few weeks. I am angry, sad, and frustrated. I am writing this review to share my experience with others. But I also want to tell you at Gaitan Tax Services that a simple mistake can hurt your customers. I trusted your business and invested time and money to file with you, only to end up like this. I wanted my money back because I have had errors in my returns for two years; the best they could do was offer to file for free next year. If you want to be ghosted by your tax professional this is your spot! Long story short I owe the CA tax board money because my taxes were done incorrectly. I have repeatedly reached out to Iskra that was in charge of doing my taxes and she claimed she would "handle it" for me and I've sent multiple texts and I have called to follow up and nothing. This is from the previous tax year (2020) it is now 2022 and still nothing. I am a student and I don't have the luxury to be owing the state money. At the end of the day wether there was a mistake or not, I want to know why I owe money, I got no explanation. So now I have no choice but to pay which is fine, but like I said, no clarification about anything. I can't even get a hold of her! This place is a scam Gaitan is a great guy and I worked with him but he's ex wife who is now in charge of the Fruitridge branch along with the unprofessional workers they have there are a complete scam don't waste your time and please go somewhere else I came to this platform to want other of the half ass job your doing there at the company and I say half ass job because you explained after the fact that you were going to charge 100$ for a service not provided you stated that the forms given to you had already been worked on and a job done yet when I got my paper work back nothing had been done and were returned visibly untouched it was my mistake for not having read the papers that I signed when dropping off my paper work because your front desk staff simply stated that I needed to sign the papers to drop off paper work To be looked at after I told her I wanted to see what could be done she said that the papers couldn't be touched for 2 days and that someone would call me that was it i received a call a day later saying that everything was done and i needed to go pay no questions asked nothing and after 4 years of going to Gaitan for my taxes I did not think I would Encounter this kind of problem. But I will not make the mistake again you are appalled as am I that you would not explain in detail to everyone dropping anything off how your process and prices will work at this time. This is a family run business. Jose has been doing my taxes here for the past several years. He is kind, patient, friendly, and knows what he's doing. I actually moved to Oakland but still drive to Sacramento every year to have him do my taxes because he is good and I really trust him. They have been very kind every time i've been there, including his daughter who has learned the family trade and also works there. The worst experience ever and I do not recommend. They don't accept appointments and ater waiting for hours on my first visit , I was told to come back the next day since Gaitan himself is too busy and they held to my tax documents which might be even illegal to do so. I go next day and again he is not available. I called them on the following Saturday and they say I have to pay partially (even though nothing has been done with regards to my taxes ) and I said I won't accept this unless Gaitan himself files it for me today. I am told to come soon and then they say he'll be with me in 10 minutes. After almost one hour of waiting , I told them I have to leave but they say we need authorization to give your documents back and I am super annoyed at this point. Overall, a very bad experience and bad business practice by them. I do not recommend this place unless you want your time to be wasted and to be treated like a sheep, and pay for something that they have not even done! The girl at the reception is sweet but other than that I can't find anything good to say. They hours say they open at 9:00am yet there's a line outside their door because the employees don't actually show up until 9:20. This is a place of business, honor your hours. I feel like they are taking advantage of a lot of people with how much they charge. They charged me $200 to do my taxes, had I known before I would've up and left because it was definitely not worth the 1.5 hour wait. I was the third person in line waiting outside for them to open and somehow two others were let in to do their taxes before me because they knew the guy or woman. They have you take a number which they try to respect but it of course helps if you know someone who works there because they play favorites. I feel bad for all the people who trust them just because they speak Spanish but they've lost my business and I'll be sure to warn others. read more
