We all went on a main bingo night it cost £14 for about 15 games which I felt was good value. Free membership & included in the £14 you could have a screen or paper option. I thought I would give the screen ago. Well as we all walked in they had already started. We sat down in panic mode and the bingo helper came over & showed us what to do! Brilliant! I think I missed some numbers while he was showing me ha ha! Top house was £400 we didn't win but being closing with one number my heart was racing more than once! I saw many of our team members sweating at one point ha ha! The bingo hall had a bar & food court. During the breaks of the main games they had smaller games which you could win Easter eggs very exciting!!! Overall good experience! Good customer service & I enjoyed the bingo

Since BJ's opened in 2007 I haven't been to another bingo hall. This is because every time I go I always get a great deal on bingo, food in the diner and drinks in the bar. There is usually some sort of giveaway on - last time I went I got a free laptop bag! The diner has loads to offer and it's really cheap. They are really generous with the portions so if you can still see some white of your plate they will gladly cover it up with more chips, extra faggot gravy or another heap of curry. At £2 a pint - and a decent pint too - my husband quietens down for the evening and relaxes with his paper. He's not a bingo player but he loves a cheap night out. We took my sister-in-law recently and she absolutely loved it! Having not been before the pace of the game surprised her, so her G&T's stopped and out came the diet coke. She'll learn with time... This is by far the best bingo hall I have ever been to. There is always a good buzz as soon as you walk through the door. Even if you walk away at the end of a session without a win you will still have had a good time. ..."HOUSE!"

There is a cafe area which sells food such as fish and chips, burgers or jacket potatoes which are great value for money. The staff are really helpful especially if you are not sure what books to buy if you are new to the Bingo game. I joined a few years ago and it was £1 to join then and you recieve a membership card in the post. The prices are great and there are loads of bingo games, with prices from around £10 to hundreds of thousands. It makes a great change to the usual night out and is full of people of all ages, male and female, a real mix, so never think that Bingo is for old people because it's not. The staff were extremely helpful, they could see my friend and I were confused and had never been to a Bingo hall before, and kept checking we were OK and understood. Beacon Bingo is a huge hall- I would guess it could seat about 1000, all in little tables. They have a canteen at the front selling pie and chips, and other kinds of fast food, as well as a bar if you want to buy a drink. Quite a fun night out- although we didn't win anything, one old lady near us won £500- and she didn't even smile! No reaction, nothing. I was really looking forward to visitiing when it opened but it really didn't live up to my expectations. A group of us went down to play in a tournement and shared a car - a word of warning - if you get knocked out and you're waiting for someone else there is absolutely nothing else to do, so take a good book! The other issue here is that the rake on cash games is really high which put us off staying longer. Over all its a great idea but it's in a very strange location, so if your not playing poker there is just nothing else to do. If it were in a city centre I'm sure it would do better.
