The brisket was very delicious and juicy, but like all beef in the UK, very expensive and very small portions. Not very Texas, but I get it. The ribs were just as good and it felt like more value. The biggest difference was in the sides. Vinegar in London is not like in Texas. The potato salad was not what I expected, and the pickle packed a lot more punch. But the Fries were superb, as was the chili. We enjoyed the cornbread, but it was nothing extraordinary. All in all, this is a great place, awesome vibe, and I most likely will not revisit this place the next time I'm in London but I would recommend it to others.

Update: this is definitely the best if the twickenham trio of bbq joints. Staff are quirky but very friendly. Dulce de leche icecream/shake is to die for. Wings excellent. Sweet potato fries great. St louis ribs good. Beans with pulled pork very nice. Avoid the mac and cheese options, and pickles. Update 2: chilli watery, lacking in depth. Corn bowl okay. Slaw good but spicy.

The outside and inside decor look like a really terrible American low-quality food chain and I wasn't excited to try it. But! We had the loveliest waitress, very attentive, very happy to walk through the menu and spot on. The guys had banana milkshakes and I loved that they came with little bright green curly straws - cute to see these manly men with their petite straws. The food was really lovely too. One colleague got the hot dog - it was incredible looking, enormous and slathered with stuff. I did think it would be impossible to eat with your hands, but he proved me wrong. My chicken wrap was really tasty and nicely done, and the fries were delicious - possibly the best I've had in a while. When one friend couldn't finish his sausage platter with mac and cheese, the waitress cheerfully wrapped it up for him so he could carry it away. Nice! The music was terrific, a great mix of old blues. So why oh why is there a big screen telly playing current music videos over the bar, complete with naked writhing women and gangsters? Shut it off - you're ruining the vibe you actually got me to like. Is it cheesy? Yes. But it's supposed to be. And it's good. But shut off that damn tv.
This nearly got itself 5 stars, but not quite there...yet!…read more Meat & Shake was on my radar as soon as it opened in Ealing, it's near enough my local! We finally got round to giving it a try, and in all honesty I wasn't sure what to expect. The place has mixed reviews, and I had my reservations. I don't think my opinion of a place has changed as quickly as it did here when our starters came out! My doubt turned to joy at the first bite of the hot link sausage, closely followed by an amazing Buffalo wing...I knew we were on to a winner! Mains wise I had spotted one of the best looking ribs I had seen in a long time, so asked the waitress for the same thing. My partner went for a burger and we added chips (with balsamic and mayo)and mac n cheese. The ribs were as stunning as they looked, full of meat, juicy, tasty and all round heaven on a plate. The burger was good, but if you want the best burger in the world go elsewhere. it's the BBQ side of things that make Meat & Shake stand out so I really suggest sticking with that...chicken, ribs, hotdogs etc The chips were amazing, I had never even seen chips with balsamic on before, but after these will be covering them in it in the future! The Mac n cheese was average, nice but in all honesty we didn't' need it...the portions were big and we were pretty stuffed! So food wise this is one of the best meals I have had for the price range it's in, and will 100% be going back. The only thing that really let Meat & Shake down was the service, and it wasn't just us. 3 tables around us were moaning to each other about it as well. The issue wasn't staff themselves, it was clearly there was not enough of them. We waited ages to order, and in the end skipped dessert before I aged another week myself. It's a simple change that would have given this place 5 stars...get some more staff on busy nights, and organise them better! In summary, give this place a visit, and you won't disappointed! Maybe just avoid the hot sauce, as it's lethal!

Thankfully the food was really good. Highly recommend the Hot Links sausage. Most of the bbq sauce stuff is quite fruity which isn't my vibe usually. Baby back ribs: not necessarily fall of the bone type of ribs, but if you give it a good tug , some of the meats will slide off its axis. I enjoyed it for what it's worth. Obviously, the smoker is limited in scope , so I'm not expecting Texas style quality. Was a little chewy in some places, but also tender in others. Had a preference for the chiptole bbq sauce rather than the hickory. Fries were mostly good (minus the tiny bits). So close to the meats, the fries absorbed some of the smokiness flavor. Slaw: low-point of the bbq. They used way, way, too much dressing. Like it was flooded. Also the cabbage wasn't cut finely, but presented as whole chunk slices. Would definitely not recommend this one. Overall minus the slaw, I enjoyed Bodean's

Wagamama is not awful - and the food won't kill you. It just doesn't taste like anything. Decidedly non-generic Chinese food with a focus on chicken, lamb, and noodles…read more We came here while headed back from a birthday party and interested in exploring something different while out and about. This place didn't disappoint as it could easily have been a good Chinese place in New York City, where that's more common. I'm not qualified to say whether it's authentic Xinjiang food, but it was certainly not your average Chinese restaurant and we were almost the only non-Asians in the restaurant for our full time there. The place was also nice enough on the inside to be a decent date spot, if not the most romantic place. It's definitely nice and not a hole-in-the-wall. The seemed to specialize in noodles, Dapan chicken, and barbecue lamb. We got some of each. The standout was the Dapan Chicken which was spicy and deliciously seasoned and not sweet at all. The chicken and potatoes were excellent, but do prepared to get the chicken off a few bones. We also got the beef noodle soup with the wide hand-pulled noodles. The noodles were amazing. The beef and broth were pretty darn good good, but I'd like to explore what else was there to see if I couldn't find an even better set of flavorings to put on top of the noodles. The chef's special noodles weren't quite as good. We got the slim noodles, which we didn't quite like as much and the sauce was a bit sweeter than I'd normally like. The cumin lamb barbecue skewers were also really good although you might want to avoid the pieces that are mostly just fat if that's not your thing. The flavors are all fantastic. The kids devoured an order of plain slim noodles and our son tried both the barbecue lamb and Dapan chicken, which was really nice. The service was fast, friendly and happy to give us advice about what to order. We'll definitely be back.
