I'm new in the area and asked on FB for recommendations. This clinic was recommended. Dr Galbraith loves animals and it shows. Yes, there is a wait (can be 2 hours or more) and if expense is no object you may not want to wait. My dog is a part of my family and my #1 question is does my vet love animals. I brought my dog in for what should have been a simple visit, and we ended up waiting almost six hours with zero communication. After two hours, I politely asked the staff if the vet had seen her yet and said that if he hadn't, I would take her to another clinic so she didn't have to sit there stressed for no reason. They told me they did X-rays so I had to wait, so I stayed. Hours later, still nothing. When I finally asked again how much longer it would be, the vet jumped me instead of giving a straightforward update. After sitting there worried about my dog for half the day, being snapped at for asking a basic question was completely unprofessional. I explained my 3 kids were in the car and he said I shouldn't have brought them. I said I am a single mom! He said could their grandparents not keep them. It wasn't his place to even ask that! The lack of updates, the excessive wait time, and the rude attitude made this one of the worst vet experiences I've ever had. I expect respect and communication when I'm trusting someone with my pet's care -- this clinic showed neither. I won't be returning, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone who values their time or their pet's well‑being. While he might be inexpensive, he's rude, his entire office staff is rude and not that great of a vet anyway. I guess you get what you pay for and I'd rather pay more and have good care for my dog than whatever the heck this was. To add, the office is disgusting!! inside and out smells of backed up septic! Dr. Galbraith is a great vet but his staff is terrible! I recently carried my 2 puppies in for shots and finally left before seeing the vet because of the television in the waiting room blaring music so loud it was giving me a headache. when I asked the staff for the 4th time if they would turn it down some I was told they could seat me in the other waiting room. The other waiting room is where people ate coming in with their pets and waiting to get signed in by the staff. I opted to leave. The staff will not make eye contact and ignore any verbal requests. I've know Dr Galbraith for quit awhile now. Even before he started seeing my pets. He's always been very nice to me. Yes sometimes there is a long wait but it's absolutely worth the wait. First time here. Never ever again! 100%do not recommend! Office is nasty. Staff is so rude and unorganized. They don't know their butt from a hole in the ground. Wait times are insane! I spent 6hrs there just to wait to have my dog seen. Kept her 2 days. When I walking out I noticed there were so many open medicine bottles just piled everywhere. Some didn't even have labels. Vet was screaming at his staff to find meds repeatedly. ORGANIZE AND CLEAN!!! Papers everywhere too. I don't see how vet or staff get anything accomplished. Phone times are at least 45 minutes. I waited for 2hrs while 4 different people told me they didn't have my dog! Cats in crates for hours with no litter boxes. While Dr. Galbraith is a Really good dvm do not schedule to have your pet taken there unless you want to wait on hold for 45 minutes to an hour just to get an update on how your pet is doing or get a quote for how much it would cost to get your pet spayed/neutered. Bottom line up front: Dr. Galbraith is a genius Veterinarian, arguably one of the best ever. He really is brilliant, conducting procedures that other vets are unaware of, much less perform. Some of those procedures are of his own, based on decades of experience. Is he gruff with the general public? Yes! I can promise you he's a pussy cat compared to myself and others that have little regard for the general population, however he has always treated me personally, as well as my wife and mother-in-law with respect. If you're getting flak from Dr. Galbraith, then quite honestly you need to look within, because you probably deserved it. Is his facility dirty? I can't speak with 100% assuredness that his staff "dips the place down in alcohol" at every turn, but they do keep the place clean. It appears otherwise to the uneducated eye, as it a simple and worn out building in dire need of significant TLC, which NONE of his staff remotely have the time to do, as both he and his staff's focus are the animals. Additionally, his prices are ridiculously low; so much so I'm unsure how he even pays the staff and keeps the lights on. I feel guilty every time I've paid the bill, knowing he's charging next to nothing compared to any other veterinarian. As a result, he's not got a budget to spruce the facility to appear in "Better Homes and Vet Clinic". Lastly, there is no way you can honestly give this man anything other than five stars. My wife and I have been taking our pets to Dr. Galbraith for ten years after being recommended by a friend. All we can say is that Dr. Galbraith is a godsend who saved the lives of several of our pets and extended their lives many years! He is the best veterinarian that we have ever encountered (I'm in my late sixties), and his rates are well under the going rate for other vets. Some pet owners travel hundreds of miles for expert care and attention he gives to every animal that he encounters. He is the most exceptional veterinarian I have ever experienced in my life . I raised chocolate Cocker spaniels in Missouri and Alabama years ago and have had dogs in our lives consistently as has my father and mother . I live in Missouri and I still to this day take my animals to Dr Galbraith every year . I've had to use vets in Missouri and has been a sad situation and in one case the animal had to be put to sleep with no resolve as to understanding what was wrong with Buddy an English springer was 5 years old . I wish I had been able to get him to Dr Galbraith but he stayed on an IV for 2 months and could not walk . My father has come across many Strays through his life on the farm and Dr Galbraith has always cared for and treated the animals at no cost I have been privileged to assist in finding permanent homes for a few of them . He is an overworked excellent who wants in the similitude of Christ working above and honest day for less than his honest wage. Any client that's been with him for any period of time due to his Care for Animals no one leaves him . So your wait time will be long but you get what you pay for and if you want the best then you'll wait . If you care more about how fancy the office looks more than how your pet is cared for then perhaps another vet will do. Ive seen people's homes where they live and care for their own animals in worse conditions . I appreciate wholeheartedly his decision to maintain the building that he has to keep his costs low to care for animals . I suppose most people don't understand the cost of business and fancy nice buildings cause the rates to go quite High . I'm sure that Dr Galbraith considers those who really can't afford high cost Veterinarian Service so they can also afford to care for their animals when needed . I can tell you that he is an extremely compassionate man and if you can find a vet that will come to your house at 11:00 p.m. at night to gently and kindly put a 13-year-old hunting dog to sleep for a client then post them online I don't know anyone that does except for Dr Galbraith . I would compare him to a doctor or vet back in the days of horse and buggy going door to door because he's willing to actually go that mile for his patient . Great guy, absolutely horrible staff. Called about making an appointment for my puppy a few weeks ago and was put on hold for 15 minutes and they asked what I wanted and was put back on hold for another 15 minutes just for someone to answer the phone and say how can I help you, blatantly leaving me on hold to avoid taking any calls, and then they told they were booked until next year, and when I asked if I could schedule an appointment for a checkup, since they are the most convenient to my area, they said they aren't taking any appointments and hung up my call. I call back about a day later and a different woman answers and schedules me the original appointment I needed the very next week without issues. There's no reason staff should be refusing to take appointments or answer any questions and repeatedly put people on hold to ignore them and then hanging up on them. Thankfully for the one staff member there it worked out. But be warned most of their up front staff are very rude and will push you away at any given chance. Never in my life have I gotten talked to so disrespectfully from an individual I called in good spirits. Doc is a good guy and does great work, the staff is trying to plummet his business and reputation. Best vet I have ever had an animal seen by. We drive over an hour to see him because he is going to give our pets the best care at the best price. Yes he stays extremely busy - plan to wait even with an appointment- but this is because he is doing everything he can to take care over every animal that comes in including emergencies and problems discovered during routine exams. As others have said he doesn't have the best bedside manner but guess what folks he isn't your doctor he is your pets doctor and the man is trying to work! Don't waste his time because you want to chitchat , he is there from 730 AM to days I've seen him not leave till 8 or later in the PM. As far as the review by Renee P she can keep her stuck up nose up in Nashville as his facility has always been beyond clean. Yes it is an older building and a little ran down but it's a vet clinic not a day spa; ever time I've seen any animal in the waiting room make a mess staff has come out and cleaned it, every time I've been to any room in the back they smell of disinfectant. These folks bust their butts to take care of every creature that comes into their care. I'd much rather have that any day of the week instead of some sparkling fancy facility with a doctor that is happy to talk to me for an hour while they run up my bill with every nickel and dime they can charge me while giving half ass care. So if you want quick in and out and hand holding go elsewhere. Wyatt Galbraith is not only a horrible vet but a horrible, uncaring person. He is a petty, jealous, spiteful little man. We went to him for years with dogs, cats, goats and horses. We changed vets due to the fact that his office got nastier with each visit, every other word out of his mouth was a vulgarity, the average wait just to get puppy shots was at least 2 hours and most of the time 4 or more hours, he treats his employees like dirt and curses at them in front of clients, talks horrible about his wife in front of everyone in the office and he over medicated my chihuahua and killed her. He will not allow anyone in the area where animals are kept and every vet I've ever been to allows you in that area. Out of desperation this morning, I called to get him to see my Boxer, who is in an emergency situation, because the vet I use was closed and the Emergency Hospital won't have a vet in until 12:00. He refused to see my dog, after the literally thousands of dollars I've paid him, because he has his panties in a wad because I changed vets, like I said, a petty, jealous little man, who is so petty, he would let my dog die rather than treat her, a waste of oxygen. Because of that and the way we were treated, we will no longer take our pets there. He is an awesome vet! He lacks on people skills a little bit and it's always very hectic when we go. Yet he is a veterinarian! He is an animal doctor so he tends to your pet, while trying to tell three other people what they need to do because he is a very busy man. My brother had a pitbull that got hit by a car her inside were literally outside her body , the vet in Athens said they couldn't do anything for her, another vet refused to do X-rays without $500 cash down payment, before they could stitch her up, so my brother drive to the bank to get the money , they as well said oh is she a pit bull and he said yes , they told him there was nothing they could do for his dog. Her insides were still hanging out. It was awful... I told him to take her to pulaski sure it's a drive but its worth taking, they kept his dog for a week and a half gave her IV fluids and antibiotics stitched her up and she was good as new after. Dr. Galbraith cares about animals and will do everything in his power to help them . Like I said he isn't a humans dr he is a veterinarian. So don't be upset cause he don't make conversations with you or can't keep them because he is telling his other staff to do things for other animals. He is saving other people's pets !!! Thats what he does ! I definitely give 5 stars . Oh by the way I did loose a kitten due to a chromosome defect. There was nothing they could do .i could see in his eyes he was disappointed as my eyes filled with tears . He did everything he could but my fur baby didn't survive.
