Billing and scheduling are terrible. They won't tell me if I have a bill due until it is past due. I even call them up to ask about the bill and they act annoyed and tell me it is process through insurance. Then I get texts and emails a month later saying it is past due. Scheduling people are rude and they do a terrible job. If they don't like you they will pretend the only available date is a month and a half out and that there is nothing else available because they aren't required to do their due diligence. read more

I was misdiagnosed not only once, but twice now so I highly recommend a different PCP or possibly see Dr. Gober, who is part of this office. Being new to the area, I had to research and get new medical providers. For someone who until recently did not need to go to the doctors often, I also found I needed medical work. Galen was chosen. I am used to one provider with services all under one roof (Kaiser Permanente). Initially, the different departments and locations were a shock to me but, you get used to it. I recently had a medical concern, had tests and ultimately some other invasive tests. I have to say, the medical staff at all Galen facilities were awesome. Professional, friendly and listened. Call outs to Dr Carsten, Jessica Hernandez and Dr. James Scott Manton. They took care of me, diagnosed complicated symptoms and put me on a path to recovery. My gratitude goes beyond the three professionals above. The whole team was amazing! read more

I have only good things to say about Ruby Patel, a PA at Endocrinology Associates. She is the best, taking the time and care necessary to make sure that you understand how to make the best use of your insulin pump. This is no easy task, as any experienced diabetic can tell you. Often doctors themselves cannot take the time for the details and patience that patients need, but Ruby is devoted, personable and knows her stuff! I could not recommend her more highly. read more

I recommend the doctors here but their billing office is terrible. I get bills before they have been fully processed thru insurance. When I call with questions I get mega attitude, which is unwarranted. Who in the hell wants to pay $300 billion when the doctor's office says insurance declined the claim but you look and there is not even a claim on your insurance. I plan to call and discuss with a manager bc of a particular incident I just had. Quality of care with PCP and other doctors within Galen have been really for in my opinion. Very poor customer service. Takes forever to answer the phone and then immediately puts you on hold. Looking for new doctors. When I call the doctor I'm calling because of a concern or to make an appointment but when you are immediately put on hold they have no idea what you need. If they are short of staff maybe they need to hire more people. Maybe fire the ones they have and get better ones. Either way their office staff is either incompetent or just don't care. I've used several doctors at Galen for different needs including gynecology, endoscopy/colonoscopy, and pancreatic biopsy. I've found them to be professional and helpful with great bedside manners. All the staff surrounding my procedures, from the front office to the nurses, have been professional and courteous. I highly recommend Galen, especially for specialized care. read more

I went to Galen for 5 years. Complaining of the same thing over and over and just being pushed pills or I need to try Ozempic (super pushy on that). Always just told to eat better and exercise when the doctor should be following their own advice. Last time I complained and said I didn't know how much more I could take I was told to drop the attitude. Fired them on the spot. Found a new doc not with Galen and within three weeks had a confirmed tested diagnosis of Gastroperesis. 5 years of living in hell and they had to order one simple test. No they just wanted to say I was fat and had anxiety. read more

My wife has had issues with reoccurring UTIs. Dr. Steele has seen her numerous times. He told her prior to a holiday he would give her a prescription so she wouldn't be in pain. After several days had passed and an emergency visit. I called asking about the prescription. The nurses said yes there was a prescription but Dr. Steele forgot to send it in. That is one incident out of several. This is the most unprofessional Doctors office I have ever seen. read more

The staff at Galen Medical are absolutely phenomenal, they are always courteous, compassionate and ultimately care. I am always greeted with smiles and welcomed immediately. I have never had to wait hours in the office like I have experienced with old physicians. My doctor is K. Gooden. She is a mother, a doctor that is genuine, straight forward and goes above and beyond her call of duty. That's a rare find, nowadays. Historically, the doctors I have encountered have been abrupt, short and recommend unnecessary tests or what not. Dr. Gooden does not do this. Ever. Her Assistant Shanna, is also amazing. Goes above and beyond and I am thrilled to be a patient of theirs. I would recommend this facility to anyone looking for a Primary Care Doctor or a Pediatrician. Pros: Clean rooms, no wait, goes above and beyond. Cons: (can't think of any) they do not offer coffee?! A++++ read more

I had scheduled a colonoscopy weeks before. A few days prior to the procedure, I get a text that not everything was covered by my insurance. I called my insurance and was told I was covered 100%. I called the office and was told, the anesthesiologist may not be in network, and it was my job to find this out! I was given a number to call and the person said the facility fee was not covered 100%. My insurance said different! I called the office, no one could give me a straight answer! I spent almost 2 hours on the phone and had to cancel unless I was willing to not use anesthesia! I am a RN, it is NOT the patient's job to see if the anesthesiologist is in network! There is no "meet and greet" until the day of the procedure! The doctor picks the anesthesiologist, not the patient! This was totally unacceptable. I went with Dr.Goodman! read more

Front desk is never friendly here, so the vibe upon arrival is immediately negative. This doubles as a pediatric office. Screaming children and babies from down the hall soothe and comforts my ailments and concerns. I was walked back with another patient, where we both were told to take turns standing on the scale, in front of one another. I was appalled and felt like my privacy was compromised. Patient privacy? This does not exist here. Save yourself the frustration of being another number here and take your health care elsewhere. read more

So this group requires Covid-19 screening before performing procedures, which is fine. Now get this, you drive up to the site, the nurse comes out of the building to your vehicle holding the swab, that's not even in the package! When a complaint was made, they walked back into the building, stuck the swab back into a package (did they dig it out of the trash?), then came back out holding an opened package. This violates every best lab practices in the book. It shows a complete disregard for patient safety. It shows a complete lack of respect to the patient! But wait, it gets worse! The lab they use gets results in three days. Everybody else in Chattanooga and the county for fifty miles has to wait 10 days. So what's so damn special about the lab their using? Is the lab even certified to do the test? Is the test their using even accurate? read more

Very disappointed in them after my visit due to a ear infection. When the Dr. walked in, first thing he said was "what are you here for you today". Not a hello, not a thing. I told him about my ear infection and he walks over and shoved the the otoscope in my ear and with extreme and unnecessary pressure. After my visit, my ear pain is FAR worse than it had been and I can barely move my mouth due to the pain. My wife and two children have been visiting them for years. The pedriatic Dr. has been great but the Dr. my wife and I have been using is clearly not there for the right reasons as its obvious he does not care for his patients or at least that what his actions show. Not to mention that if you call, you will never speak with your family Dr. You are luck to speak with a nurse. Without a doubt you are simply just a number so at this point I will be looking for a new place to go to that actually cares for its patients. read more

I have been going to Galen OB/GYN for years and always have a great experience. The staff at the front desk and appts are always friendly. Scheduling appts is always easy. Dr White and his nurses are an amazing and compassionate team. I have also had great experiences when I've been seen by the other doctors and nurses there. I highly recommend them. read more
