My partner was given steroids for an issue and he had a reaction to them. The steroids were helping, so he called them and asked if he could be prescribed a different kind. Note, he made clear to the dr that he has had other steroids and didn't have that reaction. It was just this one. (Which she then tried to gaslight me on and tell me he didn't tell her that and didn't tell her the symptoms were continuing. I was in the same room. I hesrd him.) Apparently ignoring that, the dragon said he would have this reaction to ANY type they put him on and that he should go to an ENT because they don't have what they need to do further tests that they couldn't do. (For what? She didn't say. We already knew he had an ear infection from his first visit and the steroids WERE helping until he had the reaction.) When I asked if she was refusing further medical treatment at this time she said No! Of course not! The CEO finally returned my daughters call concerning the treatment of my special needs grandson by one of their NP, He assured her action would be taken , all we can do is hope that happens , so no other family has to go through what my daughter did. I don't see anything good coming from this , due to the NP being untruthful about what happened, we will never use this facility again, and I still advise against anyone with a special needs family member from taking them to this clinic and I plan on letting other families in the community on other social medias know about this NP at this location. read more

For as kind as the receptionist was, the NP I saw was rude and wouldn't listen to what I had to say. She was unwilling to prescribe any new medication after being told the medication originally prescribed was causing a reaction. She advised me to stop taking the medication but refused to provide any alternative treatment. When my fiancé pointed out that Mayoclinic disagreed with one of her assessments, NP Tiffany Cobb replied snarkily that maybe my fiancé should take me to the Mayoclinic instead. When I went in I hadn't eaten in days, so nauseous! severely dehydrated, salvatory gland infection, bladder infection, fever and talking out of my head! I was not an easy patient! This morning, I returned to the Gunbarrel location for the second time, since I originally went there on Saturday, 11/5. First experience was a five star. Today was the absolute worst experience. The nurse that took my vitals today showed me compassion, kindness. I told her my symptoms had worsened. I was retested for Covid and flu, and it returned negative for Covid and positive for flu. I saw a different NP today, and she laughed in my face, and wouldn't address my concerns. She didn't even check my breathing. I had to contact my PCP, because I had developed an infection that your provider today was unwilling to address, and my PCP called me in an antibiotic. Imagine this hypothetical situation: Patient: My head has been decapitated. Doctor: You have contact dermatitis. I can give you a steroid shot and phone in a prescription for a steroid topical cream. Next day, no change in illness. So, back to the office he/she goes. Pissed! Patient: I told you yesterday that my head has been decapitated. Doctor: We'll need to check your liver enzymes. I question the validity of the medical professionals who treat patients in this office. I, personally, went into the office yesterday and saw Dr. Natasha Ballard. Nice? Yes. Knowledgeable? No!! I showed her a rash on my left arm, in the big form of a ringworm, and she tells me I have contact dermatitis. Let me assure you that if you get that diagnosis, the provider has no clue as to what you have. She gave me a steroid shot and called in a topical cream. $182.00 for that misdiagnosis. Guess what? No change. Last night, I had a nurse - not from that office - look at my arm and she said, "You've got ringworm." Well, duh! That's what I told Dr. Ballard when I saw her. As the office was closed once the nurse diagnosed the proper problem, I called and left a message and asked for a callback. Did I get one? No. So, I called again and asked that the doctor call in a prescription for oral Diflucan 150mg to treat the issue systemically. The receptionist stated that I had to be seen again. Really? Your office's mistake and I have to give up my valuable time to come back for a second visit. However, I went back. Receptionist was rude and acted like my feelings and opinions did not matter to her. Next, in comes Nurse Practitioner Jill Yeager -- no bedside manner, argumentative and had the personality of a stump! My apology to the stump. I spent several minutes explaining my illness and what I needed to correct it. She states, "We'll have to check your liver enzymes." What do my liver enzymes have to do with a ringworm rash on my arm? I'm sure their explanation would be a doozie! She then stated, "I'm not going to stand in here and argue with you." I told her do the blood test. A few minutes later, she comes back in and asks me what I decided. I told her that I had given that answer before she left the room the first time. She tells me it will cost an additional $48.00. Just to keep you up to date, I've spent $230.00 for nothing but a misdiagnosis and a stump. They drew my blood. Ran the appropriate tests. Then, Ms. Yeager comes back in and tells me they look good and that she can now write a prescription for what I had told her I needed earlier. Pay attention, Jill. I know my body better than you do! Unless you have NO other option, do not use this facility. Staff has no clue as to diagnoses, does not listen to the patient, and is nothing more than a monetary leech. read more

Front desk personnel not wearing mask during entirety of my visit even though sign on front door states no one can enter facility without a mask. Employees in back stated they wish personnel up front would wear a mask. *No thermal temporal thermometers used on any customers in lobby. Only 1 oral thermometer with removable plastic cover was administered to everyone. Front desk personnel was nonchalant and dismissive when I asked why customers have to wear mask but not an employee of this medical facility. Was told sarcastically "bye, have a good day" Multiple customers came in contact with no mask wearing employee. CEO was understanding and sincere about my visit, and that was the only positive. But there were too many red flags and overall carelessness during my visit. Facility was also dingy and dirty. He assured me changes were being made as a result of my experience, and changes will continue to be made to make sure Clients do not feel the way I felt. I am updating my review of this location based on my conversation with him, and his dedication to ensuring client satisfaction. Not every company gets it right all the time, and everyone has a bad day. However when an organization not only apologizes for their actions, but takes immediate and ongoing action to ensure that experience doesn't happen again that tells me this is a quality company led by people with strong morals and ethics who takes their responsibilities very seriously. After discussions I will feel comfortable returning to this clinic again in the future. Horrible experience. The Nurse performing the COVID testing could really benefit from some Customer Service training. She was rude, and outright mean. The staff suffers from a general lack of communication. I came in for a COVID test that should have been covered 100% by insurance and they still tried to get a $75 copay out of me for a doctors visit. I scheduled this appointment myself using their system and at not one did I request a medical appointment - just a COVID test. After speaking to a Manager he said the appointment was in their system as a visit with a COVID test instead of just a COVID test. They jammed a swab up my nose and then sent me into a room in the back like I was a sheep being sent to a pen. The treating physician was the only part of the whole experience. She was very courteous and willing to help. Was in there for two minutes to review my positive UA and he would not answer any questions. When I went to check out he was whispering to receptionist and then ran back into his office labeled "private" and slammed door. His hands were shaking profusely when he looked in my ears. Beyond disgusted by how my mother was treated by this facility yesterday. She went for a covid test, mind you she had been exposed to someone who tested positive, she also had EVERY symptom. After waiting in line as weak as she was someone finally informed her they did not take her insurance and they refused her. They were the only location in town that had the rapid test left, she begged them to just let her pay out of pocket and they turned her away. She has health issues and is high risk but they had no sympathy or concern for her. I have been here several times now and have always been pleased with the service and wait time. The doctors are knowledgeable and helpful in explaining the diagnosis and treatment. I also went to the one in Cleveland TN and they saved me an expensive ER visit for a sprained ankle. They had the equipment needed to X-ray and treat the injury. I called around to find a Dr on short notice for my nephew that would work with his out of network insurance. They proved highly knowledgable on the subject and handled it with no problem (standard copay). MedSouth said they would require $100 up front and wouldn't bill insurance. I received excellent care yesterday even though it was Labor Day and many people had come in for care. Every employee I saw, from receptionist to MD were compassionate, respectful, and knowledgeable. I took my mother there the day before yesterday, because I knew something was very wrong with her. She was achy, nauseous, and acting almost drugged. We got there right before time to close, and they were obviously trying to hurry us out. They didn't do any tests. Basically, they asked her what medications she was on and took her temp.. They told us it was a virus and that she needed to take some medicine for the nausea. They also told us to bleach everything. I said that nobody else was sick, so I didn't think that was it. She insisted that was the cause, and we left. She went to another Dr today, and it turns out that she was taking two different kinds of the same kind of medicine, and that was causing everything. They are lucky we aren't the lawsuit filing type, and I will never step foot in that place again. read more

My wife had a nasty foot injury involving a huge splinter that I was able to partially remove with a razor and tweezers. However, I could not remove it all. I told her to go to AFC Urgent Care on Gunbarrel. She went and they gave her a numbing shot and proceeded to "remove" the rest of the splinter. We then had to drive out west where my wife hobbled around on her injured foot for five more days while the pain continued. On the sixth day she felt a sharper pain and upon self examination discovered a huge portion of the splinter about a half inch long by an eighth inch wide protruding out of the injured foot. I removed this with tweezers. When we returned to Chattanooga, she called AFC to tell them. The office manager said "Our staff try the best they can. Sorry they missed it". That was it. No offer for my wife to come in and have it re-evaluated. No offer of a refund. No sincere appology for walking around six days with an infected splinter. Nothing. I personally had a previousl good visit to this place about four years ago. However, based on how they handled this, I would never go back. I even emailed them over 24 hours ago and told them I was going to give them a bad review. I thought that they might want to talk to us to try to resolve the issue. I guess one bad case is not enough incentive for them to exercise service recovery. If you need medical assistance, you might as well drive two more blocks and go to Erlanger or someplace more competent. read more

I cant give them 5 stars because I had to make 3 trips for the same problem. Neither the PA nor the NP listened to what I needed the first 2 visits; however, the MD listened on the third visit and prescribed what I needed to get rid of bronchitis. I have this a few times a year and know what it takes to get rid of it. I was pleased with the wait time all 3 times. The front desk staff is very friendly and helpful. I went to Doctors Express Urgent Care located on Gunbarrel Rd because it was a Sunday and my regular doctor's office was not open. Worst experience EVER!!! While waiting in the lobby, I saw the receptionist turn a perspective patient away who was clearly in need of help and obvious physical pain. The facility did not have things available that would be considered standard or basic in most practices. I was seen by the doctor (he was literally in the exam room for LESS THAN 2 minutes with me). I let him know that I was NOT happy with the level of service they could provide me and asked for a refund so I could just wait to see my regular doctor tomorrow. My request for refund was denied because I had already "been seen by the Doctor" for all of 2 minutes. I would NOT recommend this place! I would recommend Balanced Life Family Medicine on Ooltewah Ringgold Rd is hands down a much better place to go. read more
