The coffee has been from Blue bottle in San Francisco but upon my last visit it was instead from Square Mile. Nice to see some variety in what is offered. When Kalle is working they do hand brewed coffee but there is also espresso based beverages as well as batch brewed filter coffee. They also have some wine on offer. The setting is very nice and relaxing and the service is pleasant albeit a bit slow. They do some very nice pastries and a real fresh and nice brunch with yogurt, fruit and granola, avocado on toast and a 63 degree egg. A place well worth visiting before they close at the end of Summer (hopefully they open next summer again).

You can't find proper bagels anywhere in Helsinki and I jumped for joy when I heard about Brooklyn Cafe for the first time. I've been there several times and every time I hope for things to have improved. The truth is that the coffee isn't among the best in town and sadly the bagels are a bit disappointing. I've had both dry and soggy bagels there, as well as ones that lacked taste. The location is good, the place is sweet and they have WiFi. The service is very nice and there's a good vibe. Loved the three tiny and colorful tables they had outside during the summer. I really hope they'll improve their offering - I'm still willing to give them a chance!

Overall, I found most of their fruity cakes to be light in texture. The chocolate was delicious as well. If I had to choose a cake I didn't care for, it would be the mocha. I thought it was fine but it didn't impress me like some of the other slices I sampled. In addition, the cake buffet gives you a choice of either coffee or tea. If you want a refill, it will cost you extra. I didn't realize it when I asked for a coffee refill, but it's only just €1 extra. Not too bad. You can order lunch, snacks, desserts or just drinks (alcohol or non) and relax for a couple of hours watching the cats run around. It's a ver relaxed atmosphere with a very homelike environment. Service is great and the prices are reasonable. They also have a cute gift shop with some unique crafts. You remove your shoes when you enter and you only enter one party at a time so the cats don't get out. It's well worth the visit but make sure to make a reservation!

You can make reservations in advance or just drop by and see if they have seats. My boyfriend and I stopped by in the evening on a weekday, and they had space. Inside, the cafe has a nice, calm vibe with soft jazzy music and dim lighting. They have a huge selection of food and drinks on the menu, you could basically have a meal here. They have a few rules regarding the cats: you can't pick them up, you can't pet them if they're sleeping, you can't let them eat your food, etc. There are 8 cats in the cafe, and when we first arrived, they all seemed to be sleeping. We were allowed to walk around to look for them, and there was a basket full of cat toys to use. After a while, some of the cats started waking up and playing around. The staff were nice enough to give us some cat food so we could feed the cats too. The cafe also has seats next to an ozone generator if you have allergies. It seems like the cafe has an amazing ventilation system anyway, since I'm allergic to cats and was fine sitting in a regular seat. TDLR: This cafe has great ventilation, nice staff, and friendly cats. Entrance fee is 5€ on top of whatever you buy to eat/drink.
