Our hotel was nearby and so we decided to drop by The Galleria at Crystal Run Mall. Plenty of parking is available. The mall is very spacious and there are a number of stores inside. The food court has a nice variety. Check out their directory for a more updated and detailed list of food options. There is an AMC Theatre, Target, and Gold's Gym inside as well. We enjoyed walking around the mall and were even more excited to be able to visit Middletown, NY! read more

As a mall walker, this mall is okay. Getting to the parking lot isn't the easiest, especially for first-timers, and I had a hard time. Honestly, I find the layout a bit confusing. Taking 84 to 17 ((future I-86) - even though there are signs for it, it's not officially designated yet if anyone's confused by it. Long story short, a very long-going project), is the most efficient way. GPS helps. With that, getting in and out of the mall is a bit of a hassle. There's quite a variety of stores to offer, with JCPenney still being open, and also activities to choose from. Having this definitely brings traffic to the mall. I think this mall will be able to pull off for many years to come, but I'll see when I return again. read more

The mall has a lot of the standard stores and some interesting food options like the newer donut place. It's a far cry from it's heyday in the 90s, but there were a decent number of patrons as I walked through and pretty much all of the real estate was occupied. I really enjoy it here because it's a traditional mall two floors plenty of length and lots and lots of stores. The smaller stores with the trinkets and the specialty stores that are run by mom and pop. Service is always pretty good. I've never had a bad experience, and the selection is usually plentiful. The value is the value I mean things are going up in price and people have to make a living however, I don't think it's absorbent. read more

Been here before prepandemic, before i started writing reviews, They had lots of stores from Forever 21, Build A Bear, Halmark, borders (closed), Disney Store (closed), a sears (closed), Mount Fuji, aereopastele, victoria secret, macys, jc penny, Target, and AMC movie theatres. Been here several times as a teenager shopping with my mom. I think i even saw cody simpson here one year. Always enjoyed shopping here. I do like the pallisades mall better because there are more choices and it is bigger. This mall only has 2 floors. Also they didn't really have any arcades, but noticed that they have opened one when i went. They also have something called urban air for kids. Went here today Thursday February 29th 2024 to browse and look around since i was called out of work, and by the mall. Parked by the movie theater, and it was very easy to find parking. First looked in hot topic and found a cute freddy kruger (from nightmare on elm street) keychain, and a Green Day American Idiot shirt. But decided not to buy any. Mall was easy to walk around in, and was very clean. Then checked out Five below, couldn't really find anything that i was interested in, but oh well. Then, went upstairs to Forever 21 and looked around there. Found some cute stuff there that i brought. and only spent $20.00! Next walked around the top floor a bit, looked in the hallmark. i sort of miss the hallmark that used to be in monroe because of their cute gifts. walked out not buying anything though, but they did have a cute stuffed snoopy. Next walked into my favorite store- Bath & Body works! looked at candles, the new scents that they have. found out scent that i may have liked from online but tried it and it was too strong! (Which is why i do suggest going to the store, at least there's a try me type of thing.) i did buy 3 things from there, and only spent 16.00! walked the whole mall, then went back to the parking lot and went home. overall very clean mall, and everyone is very nice there! read more

I tried to make a direct review to CC hair cuts in the mall .I hope someone shows them this review. This is a learning experience for me as a client to do my research for a barber. I wanted a cute little under cut so I could wear my hair in two buns. I showed the guy a pic and held it up the entire time he was cutting my hair. I wasn't afraid of him getting the design wrong because my thought process was I could let it grow out in a month I could try again. What I didn't think, which is really simple I'm a cosmetologist also , is that he would part section my hair wrong cut off more than I willing emotionally and style wise ready for. I was in complete shock when was done. I just paid and left because there was nothing that can be done except wait a year for it to grow. I had been anticipating the re- opening of the Teriyaki House at the food court in the Galleria Mall. Needless to say I was very disappointed with the food and the service. New owners(Non Asian), less choices on the menu and the staple Teriyaki combo meals taste different. Smaller portions and no vegetables. Cook seemed upset when I watched him drop half my meal behind the grill putting it in my plate, when I asked him for more food, he acted like he fidnt hear me... overall bad experience, two thumbs down. read more

This place could really use some help... When this place opened it was the balls, since then it's gone down hill. There are a few decent stores, but nothing to merit going and strolling around this hole all day long. It happens to be the closest mall to our house, but I don't think we've ever gone there with the intention of spending the day. We usually know what we want and are in and out pretty quick. Some of the decent stores: Build-A-Bear (for DD), Dicks Sporting Goods, American Eagle, Macy's and Target (although it's an odd location for a Target, it's kinda slapped on the back of the mall) Once and a while a few new stores will come along that make you think there might be some fight left in this sh*t hole of a mall but then another 5 businesses will be boarded up and you realize how bad this place really is. I'm not sure what they can do to make it better, but now that I'm getting on in years, the old lady and I prefer to hit this place up on a weeknight when it's deserted (especially since they have rules to stop the kids from roaming around unsupervised now) read more

Throughout the past several years when people tout that the Galleria at Crystal Run is really pretty inside, I think "Yeah? Really? I'd love to see it and try going there." When I found that I would be nearby yesterday, I thought I'd try going there. Yes, it's really neat, but not quite as neat as how it is during the holidays. The mall wasn't very packed with people during the 1pm hour, and even near the Sears entrance there's construction work going on (they give you fair warning with the sign on the door). And to top things off, the men's rooms looked really downtrodden and not upbeat like some mall bathrooms in the Hudson Valley, NY. I was amazed at the directions to get there. A road off a road off a road off an interstate(I-86/SR-17) off another road several miles in (when it's able to be seen right from the main I-84 interstate). Why don't you just send a separate road right directly from I-84 towards your Mall Loop Road? You're present set up is confusing and with the mess of higher speed roads, and local roads, it's awkward trying to get there in one-piece. While it's highly doubtful I'll ever be around again to this mall, it's not to say that I won't be expected back. I don't think my visit yesterday was too successful. While I can't say I could get there before Christmastime this year, I do think I need to take another visit to get the full gist of what to expect on this mall, to see just for myself what these pictures really are representing of this mall. I can't tell if this should even have been a 3, 4, or 5 star review (leaning right now on either the 3 or 4 star rating, but thought I'd play it cool at this time and give this mall the benefit of the doubt that they can turn things around for the better: just give them time, apparently.) read more

This really isn't much of a mall, there is a lot of empty space which I guess implies that a lot of the stores have shut down. Which makes whatever is left of the mall look empty. By the way...what happened to the food court? It's lacking restaurant and fast food choices! I'm a fan of the Gap however I'm not quite sure how the one at this mall managed to stay open because it's empty! The shelves, the racks, the wall...everything. Yankee Candle and The Children's Place are my top two favorite stores at this mall! read more

The screens are AMAZING! The seats are AMAZING! The prices are... not so good. For tickets or food. Everything is newer construction, so I highly recommend coming already having had a good meal and just bite the bullet for the price. Bathrooms are nice too. So we don't always go here, except for big blockbuster we really wanna see and hear great. read more

The worst mall ever! I grew up in the area and when this mall first went up it was decent... but it has slowly gone downhill from there. Besides that there are absolutely no good stores here or the stores that are here the selection seems terrible compared to say an Old Navy or Gap in another mall... the type of people who are here are a bit on the sketchy side - especially all the groups of kids that are there Friday and Saturday nights. This place is a freakin joke. I have to agree with the other yelpers here. It was a nice place to go when it first opened. Now my opinion to why it has gone downhill is that since the use of the internet there is really no need to wander around a galleria. We can get all of our shopping needs met from going to various websites. You can even rent movies online (netflix,etc) The malls and galleria's are just having a hard time accepting the fact that they are a dinosaur. I had been in Middletown many times and did not know this was such a nice and big mall. Because of the way that the stores are set up. Most of the big stores like JCPenney, Sears and Target have the store front and the whole buildings joins in the middle where the mall area is. So, you really have to ask someone where is the mall depending on which way you enter the building. The mall has a lot of nice stores with a second floor. I smelled something nice but I was not able to find the store that was baking, since I am not a mall person, I am not going to spend hours and hours searching for a store, no..., no..., make you're signs clear of loose business..., I did find the Hot Topic Store which is a very nice a store. read more

We stopped at this mall after a day of wine tasting. The parking lot could use to be repaved and the exterior could use a facelift. Upon entering the main part if the mall, the interior could use a facelift as well. This is a good mall for basic trip to the mall .. nothing really exciting here . No high end stores like Lord and Taylor, if that's what you're into . They do have some stores that are popular but the stores are small and variety they carry are limited .. this is not a smelly or dirty mall at all, will lit and pleasant but wish it had more fun stuff/stores. I've been shopping at this mall since I was little! It is now getting a much needed renovation and several new stores.

This mall has seen it's fair share of better days. I noticed a few stores are now empty and the food court is very weak. 5 lame choices and they actually have a Game Stop in the food court. Anyone have a craving to eat Call of Duty games. It can use a new look because it's rather drab but having said that, there are some stores that appear to be doing well. For a better experience, larger space and a bustling atmosphere, the Palisades Mall is your best bet but if you're bored enough and don't want to deal with much of anything, this would be your plan A destination. read more

Well seems like others don't enjoy this mall... I for one do. Compared to the Rockaway mall, it's bigger and has more stores that I like. Plus in Middletown there's a whole bunch of things to do just around the mall area. Rockaway isn't bad, I just think it's small, a bit more crowed up... This old navy store has moved to a smaller place they suck big time I went there Saturday they have a very small section for men the store is very messy there was clothes on the floor they only had 2 cashiers and the line was pretty long they need more employees to clean up the store im really disappointed at the way the store was unorganized I won't be going there again they got 2 stars because the women's section is a little more organized and it has a bigger selection. read more

I don't agree with the people who reviewed this Mall. There have been stores that have left the area as in every area, but this Mall still has some wonderful stores. Old Navy, Gap, JC Penneys, Sears, Macy's, Borders. They also have alot of teen-age and pre-teen stores but that goes with any mall. I DO live in the area and like the face that people come here to shop. These other reviewers dont live in the area and are very critical. So I went to the mall today and not even 5 mins of been there I had walkill cops and mall security guard walk up to me telling me I fit the description of the person that just robbed some kids .... mind you I haven't seen some friends and family around for years they happen to be passing as all this is taking place... so I gave the cop my ID after they said we have you on tape in front of everyone they proceeded to check me ... the thing that they said in front of all those people was so wrong I should of took names but at this point I just wanted to get my food which is what I went there for ......what I dont under is why couldn't they do thing differently..like hey can you come with me somewhere where there wasnt all them people around ...
