It's been years since I've utilized a library membership, so I'm not sure if this is like standard practice now, but they also offer conveniences such as curbside pickup and home delivery (by appointment). I love having these options available to me and for those in the community who are not physically able to make it to a library location. They host lots of classes, workshops and fun activities as well. They are hosting a family history day in October for those interested in genealogy. There's lots of programs for your littles like art classes, live story times, Pokémon club, jr. chefs, birding club and more. There are teen writing challenges, neurodivergent hangouts, teen gourmet and video game clubs, to name a few. For adults, there are book clubs, first time home buyer's workshops, training and certification through the Hamilton County Health Dept, and courses for navigating the AI age. We spent a majority of the time in the children's section which boasted several interactive play areas, a private room for events, a STEAM focussed room for workshops and hands-on learning and well-organized book stacks. I appreciated how many book covers they had easily on display and their shelving system. They also have a pet gecko in the kids area. We could have easily spent an hour plus here. Patrons of the library can take advantage of several 3-D printers and only pay for supplies. Cricut machines and software are available to create card, paper products, tee shirt transfers, mugs and more. A state-of-the-art video studio and several audio studios are available for aspiring performers. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and proactively helpful. I got inspiration for an upcoming project that I am working on for a family reunion. One of the staffers printed off information that I needed for my project. The children's area of the library is huge, filled with books, discovery lab, reading areas and an activity room. Toddlers were playing with a few toys during my visit. Upstairs, I found a massive collection of videos and adult books. Several banks of computers were buzzing with patrons taking advantage of the free service. The staff was friendly and happy to show where to find specific books. Comfy seating and work spaces are scattered throughout the facility. Several conference rooms can be reserved for community use. The building is beautiful with a modern architecture that lets in lots of natural light. There is a featured art wall in the lower level. A bookstore and coffee shop are available near the main entrance. There is a parking garage on the south side of the building complete with EV plug stations. Restroom facilities are upscale and immaculate. The library is an easy 5 stars and sets a high standard for libraries.

I came in to do genealogy research and also occasionally to print out labels for items that sold on eBay while I was traveling. The library and it's equipment were very easy to navigate and I appreciated having them available. I found out a couple of days ago (September 2016) that there is a lady librarian named Rebecca who is active in genealogy and she is the one who posted some of the photos and information about my ancestors that I found on the internet. Great chance to read books you might not have picked up otherwise and have some great discussions. Book Club meets the first Monday of every month. You can go to the library at anytime to pick up the month's book and there are bookmarks that show the books for the next couple months as well. When she passed, her husband James Winner, seized the opportunity to support the newly constructed library in her honor. Joyce was well known in the community and within local book clubs. Today, her legacy is vivid throughout the beautiful library facility in West Clay. There is a photo of Joyce in the Children's Area of the library. The library is new, upscale with lot's of book-themed art and fixtures. The children's section has a great selection of colorful and award winning titles. There are study areas upstairs offering a quiet work space. And of course, there is free WiFi throughout out. The librarians are wonderfully helpful and engaging. This week, I took my granddaughter to the library. We read several books by the cozy fireplace in the sunroom area. I also read the daily newspapers. We picked up several of the monthly craft kits available to stimulate creativity of the patrons. My granddaughter also worked on the large mosaic puzzle that changes monthly in the library. Books that are not available at this branch can be ordered from other branches. There is street parking out front. This is a wonderful little library with a lot of interesting activities. Don't forget to pick up the Spice of the Month packet at the front desk (the April spice is rosemary).

When I was little, I used to just camp out and read books for hours. My wish is that bookstores never go out of business, so I try to support it when I can. They not only have a ton of books and music, but also great games, stationary, and home decorations. The women at the checkout desk are the absolute sweetest and one actually thanked me when I continued my family's loyalty card. With the card comes awesome coupons. There's just something about having a real, non-digital book in your hands.

This is one of my go-to Indianapolis Public Library branches, and before the remodel, I felt that it was old as hell and not at all someplace I wanted to hang out. I mostly used it to pick up holds. But now! Gone is the dank, dungeon-like feel. The new library has lots of windows and natural light streaming in; cozy chairs strategically placed hither and thither, with chargers next to the seats; real plants everywhere; and a new children's area. I could definitely see myself hanging out here now. The children's wing takes up a good 1/4 of the library. There are toys to play with, chairs to sit in, a stage (probably for story time), grab-and-go book bags, and colorful murals on the walls. There's also a little teen area, a community puzzle table, a seed library, private rooms for individuals and groups, and semi-private booth seating. The Nora Library continues to be a great resource for the community, and now it looks and functions better. I love to see a library get a glow-up!

As a former inner-city girl, I used to feel that I had "settled" by moving to what I thought was…read morejust a bedroom community. But now I'm proud to say that I love living in Noblesville. I've been a homeowner here since 2003, and I have to say it's really grown on me. After growing up in Chicago (the city, not the 'burbs), living for several years in Minneapolis (ok, the 'burbs but I worked in the 'hood) and many other cities in between, at first I found Noblesville to be remote and boring. Over the past 9 years, the Indy Metro has expanded towards us, and the town itself has grown. Things I love about Noblesville: -- We have great movie theaters without having to make the trip to Carmel or Fishers. I don't know how Great Escapes survives since it's always empty, but I'm glad they're there ... hidden behind the Lowe's on 37. And if you want the huge screen and packed house, there's the Goodrich at HTC ... Watching Dark Knight on their IMAX screen during opening weekend was one of the most exciting experiences I've had in a movie theater to date. -- Old-fashioned Main Street/City Square with historic buildings, many locally-owned shops, restaurants and antique stores. In the summer, there's festivals, street dances, music and art fairs. On Saturday nights in good weather, car enthusiasts come out with their classic/exotic cars and it's fun to walk around and talk with folks ... just a great small-town vibe in the Square. By the way, those aren't birds circling around the old bell tower, they're bats ... cool! -- Farmer's market every Saturday May - October, and every year there's more locally-grown produce, butchered meats, and crafts. It's a great way to support local businesses, run into neighbors and try new things. Summer BBQ's aren't complete without Dad's Best sweet corn. -- Excellent public library with a huge collection of CD's, movies, and downloadable e-books. I think they still have some "retro" (real) books as well. -- Wonderful biking/walking trails connecting many neighborhoods to Morse Reservoir and Forest Park. -- Easy drive to Bonge's Tavern in Perkinsville ... mmmm Harger Duck and Sugar Cream Cake. Don't mind the tailgating, my own liquor is cheaper. -- Easy enough access to Indianapolis via US 31 or shooting down Binford, plus it's less than 3 hours to Chicago. We can easily get to downtown, Broad Ripple or wherever else we want to go without much fuss ... but still waiting on better traffic control for the stop lights, come on Indiana, other states have had this technology for a decade. Things I'd love to see: -- More access to public transportation, but this is an issue throughout the region. -- Better designed traffic control with lights that can respond to current traffic situations. -- At least one more good restaurant on Morse ... I don't mean to disrespect Wolfies but let's be honest, we go for the beer and the view, not the food. -- A really good Chinese restaurant ... delivery would be a huge bonus. -- A cool deli/smoked meat & cheese shop, along the lines of Smoking Goose/Goose the Market ... and please bring the cookies from H2O with you!

It is now almost Sept and the seeds will spread and become a greater hazard in the spring as the hemlock will spread far beyond her jurisdiction. This is not like poison ivy because it could easily kill children and pets. The flowers have fallen making it even more dangerous because it's harder to identify but every part of the plant is deadly.
